today I played 1678 hands and lost $ 93, 76 fml

How many tables do you play? I know that you decided to play a tabe less, but if you are playing at 3 I suggest to reduce to 2. I played only 32k hands at 10NL zoom and I am running good (variance) so it's easy for me to give advice but I think you should forget about supernova and huge hand quantities avery day. Look for more bluff spots.

@ imfar: I probably will do that. Such a huge downswing I even considered moving down for a while, so probably playing just 2 tables is the better option. Also 2K a 3K hands a day isn't that big of a volume :). If I didn't need to work for 3 days and have other obligations I could play a lot more as well as spend a lot more time in improving my game

I have 119 hands on villian with vpip is 20 and his pfr 15 3bet of 2.9.

Him donking I tought looked of like a draw like hand or a weak T or 8. So I tought the 5 didn't improve him so I bet big on the turn. the reraised surpriced me a bit but taught it probably was a flushdraw with or without staightdraw or hit playing agressively.

What throw me off is I never suspected him to lead a set here and him just calling the reraise on the flop just convinced me more that he was on a draw. I probably should have been suspicious with his mincheck/raise on the turn as a draw probably more likely if he plays it aggresive to check/shove.

I have 74 hands on villian and villian has a vpip of 19 and a pfr of 15 and a 3bet of 3.4Also he has an AF of 3.5 and a AF% of 50 %

I reraised this hand because it has some playability postflop. Hit a middle pair with a gutshot to the lower end of straight not the best flop, but not the worst either so I think a c-bet is in order he as I think a decent part of his b/c raise missed this flop. On the turn I hit my straight as well as get on flush/straightflushddraw to go with it. I make a half pot raise and get shoved on. at this point I think a J is pretty likely but I think some flushdraws are possible to also I notice that my betsize is on the smaller size and with my opponents being decently aggresive postflop I also consider that he might consider it weak and bluff me off the hand. In the end I decide that I might still have the best hand and if I don't I still have decent equity to get the best hand by the river.

I have 282 hands on villian. Villian has a VPIP of 22, a PFR of 17 and a 3bet of 5.1. Furthermorre he has a AF of 0.7 and a AF% of 21% so he is not really that aggressive postflop. His c-bet % is 56

I think this hands plays faily well IP so I decided to call his c-bet. After he c/c I put him on a hand that trying to go for cheap showdown like and AK,AQ,AJ or a middlepait type of hand like 77,88,99. SO I didn't think the turn helped his range unless he had AK,AQ,AJ of heart and there is a good chance that he c/r those. I didn't preseve the J♥: to help his range a lot espacially not after him checking the river. I did however see it as a card that villian could think hit my range and since I have no showdown value with 8 high I decided to go for the 3 barrel bluff here.

I only have 3 hands on villian so he is pretty much an unknown to me. I flop TPTK so pretty much a good flop for me. villian calling can still be a lot of thing like middlepairs a 5 or a 4, flushdraws, 67, gutshots like 68,78 and overcards that decide to float. the 8 completes the strraightdraw and makes 2 pair for hands like 58 and T8 and makes trips for 88 but besides that I think I still have the best hand here most of the time so betting the turn is in order. the 7 is not a good card for me as all hands with a 6 makes a straight as well as J9,also a lot more 2 pair are possible as well as 77 now makes trips dispite that there still decent amount of draws that missed as well as weaker T's I still beat so making a river bet is in order. I am not sure about the betsize though since the board completing maybe it is better to bet smaller like $ 1,5 to make sure weaker T's can call or bet biger like $ 3,7 to rep a strong made hand in order to make it less likely he shoves the river as a bluff. Anyway after he reraises the river I don't have any information to go on that he does this as a bluff and considering it makes sence that this card improves his I think I have to fold.

I think u make too big pot at river where u have hard decision. That kills your red line as well. I suggest to avoid hard spots, pot control more. Large pots with nuts only. In micros its enought! Anyway gl at tables, probobly try zoom games.

So invested most of the day in learning did an hour of hand analyses, 50 minutes watching a video and an hour and 10 minutes reading a new book ( The mental game of poker )

I also started with playing only 2 tables which I think helped a bit on me focusing on all the elements going on on the table. I did mean however that I played a lot less hands today. Only 769 hands and I won $ 13,78

today I played 1036 hands and won $ 8,76

Today I played 1805 hands and lost $ 12.77. I also got to goldstar and get to the 50K hand.

In total over the 50.027 hands I lost $ 181,65 which is -3,63 bb/100 hands. Which is pretty bad ofcourse :(. So it doesn't like like I will be moving up anything soon

Will update my thought I will do with the rest of the month and my goals next month tomorrow :).

Today I played 1029 hands and won $ 16,70. I also came in the money in the weekly vip $30K, but unfortunately I couldn't get deep so I only won $ 6 from that. I also read a book for 2 hours.

I have though about what of what to do this month. I am not sure yet but I have a few idea's like going aver the play of the reg I have the most hands on, doing a database analyses, recording a session and posting it here. I anybody has some more idea's I would definately like to know.

I also decided to broaden the information on the daily post. Not worked out all the details yet but I will post the following information:

Preperation

While playing
Session 1
- Still wanted to look a lot at my results espacially when things didn't go well
- convinced myself calling down, while I was pretty sure I was beat once
- still made decition to fast
- high variance: lots of hard decition and when I did have a good hands got people folding
- 95 min / 673 hands / - $ 52.32

Session 2
- mixed up a hand
- want to look at result
-102 min / 713 hands / $ 9,64

Evaluation
- reviewed marks hands
- played session 1 alright but made some ugly mistakes in the beginning. In session 2 I played better.

In total I played 1386 and lost $ 42,68

am i the only one who just turn on pc and starts to grind instead of planning my day what i will do each minute ? ♦

@ Martintids: well, that is what I used to do too ^^. Now I am trying this to help me focus and improve my mental game and my poker game:).

I also forgot to mention that I also looked at all the hands that went to showdown on 5 regs which took about an hour and 30 min of hand analyses.

- kept the session set-up pretty much the same with the difference that This time I didn't go over the std. ranges I had disign as I was still pretty familiar with them.

Play
Session 1
- bit of variance though to getting it in with JJ vs an aggressive reg 4betting over an other agr regs loose 3bet on the sb unfortunately for me he had AKs and hit on the turn.
- pretty satisfied with my play overall though
- played for 75 min, played 541 hands and made $ 0.07

Session 2
-also a bit of variance losing bottom set to villian overplaying his medium flushdraw and unfortunately he hit on the turn and I failed making a FH/Quads
- Also here I was pretty happy with the way I played.

Despite the marginal profit of $ 0.70 over 1376 I think I played my A-game today or at least pretty close to it

played A-game till the end where I made a spewy 3bet All-in on a drawy board
-tried to play 3 tables again and did go very well

– variance pretty high got KK vs AA, lost an important flip

-think I played pretty well till the end where I overplayed TPTK on a wet board
– focus on 3 tables whened pretty well, as I still was able to take all the information into account when making a dicision.

I played pretty fine till I got a couple really nasty hands. After that I started to play somewhat worse and faling back in my old mistakes. At the end of the session I was so frustrated that I didn't want to do the evaluation or update the blog.
– played for 163 minutes and lost $30,06

– starting to notice though to the large downswing that the varience is effecting me.

Didn't have time to play Wednesday as I was traveling by train through the day. Did give me a lot of time to read a book though. I atleast read for 3 hours.

I played this morning after I got up much earlier then planned. So I played a small session before I had to go. Unfortunately I didn't do the preperations and didn't go that well. Although I think I still played fairly well and got 2 nasty coolers.
Played 328 hands an lost $ 21,-

Session 2
– played some relaxing music don't know if that was the reason I could keep really calm despite still getting some nasty coolers. Luckely at the end of the session I made some nice hands and get even an decent + session in :). I was doing fairly well although I kept in the red despite not losing any big pots. So I think I will have to look at where I am losing money. I suspect it is the 3bet pots OOP but it could also be something else

Whened alright the first session and in the second session I played really well

Read the mental game for an hour

For cashgames It whened a lot worse:

In total I played 59.831 hands this month and lost $ 260,79. Which is - 4,36 bb/100 hands. So that is not great.

Although my coach tells me I play good enough to beat NL10SH Zoom and that even -4,36 bb/ 100 hands is still quite in range of bad variance of a samplesize of 60K I still am a bit worried :(.

The strange part it my red line dropping so fast, while I have watched and tried to imply strategies to impove my red line, but so far my red line just dropped faster. I also looked at the 3bet from sb and although this was possitive the part where my 3b gets called and I ot to play oop was massively negative. By making adjustment in what I 3bet from the sb and how I continue postflop this will fix my redline and improve my overall winrate

As far as goals for Februari:

- Play 50K+ hands
- do at least 6 hours of analyses of any sort a week
- keep goldstar this month
- make a tiltprofile and use it in the preperation
- look to improve on the preperation,evaluation and analyses part of my games
- make a mental game histories
- finish reading the mental game
- move up to NL16 when I at least get to 1 bb/100 over the total amount of hands of this year

played really well didn't get a lot of good spots, but got out of some nasty spots where I was pretty sure I was beat. Called in of spot against a aggressive player where I should have folded the river.
Variance was mild.
Played 925 hand in 77 min and lost $ 0.38

Session 2
Played really well got some good spots and even got lucky in one spots. Bit of varience in my favor.
Played 676 hands over 61 min and won $ 21,68

Evaluation
Whened alright the first session and in the second session I played really well. Pretty much on top of my game. Have the feeling the minor adjudgements I have made in my game are paying off

In total I played 1601 hands today and won $ 21.30

In the beginning of the session I got almost down 2 stacks because of villian hitting the river quite a few times. The middle whened well but at the end of the sessions I made a few calls on turn and river that should have been folds.

I had 31 hands on villian and he had 14 VPIP and 7 PFR. With him calling OOP on the sb I think he has lot's of pairs and his reraise on the flop and a big bet on the turn looks a lot like a set to me :(.

In played 975 hands over 89 min and won $ 15,73

Evaluation
Played fairly well in both session although made a few costly mistakes at the end of the first session. Maybe I played a bit too long the first session.

Analyses
followed a coaching for half an hour
- reviewed hands for half an hour

In that hand, I think if you get check/raised you have to decide whether and on what turn and river cards you're going to bluff catch. I used to call flop, fold turn or worse, call flop, call turn, fold river all the time and TT would kick my arse for it. If Villain's super tight and you think he only check/raises sets, then just fold. However, there are plenty of people who would never check/raise a set on that board. He could easily have 78 or 89 and keep barrelling when he picks up a gutshot, assuming hew wouldn't just check/call with second pair. That turn only really improves 79, and it's not really a big bet, particularly considering how deep you are. I think if you call the flop, you have to call the turn and evaluate on the river. However, I think if you folded to every flop check/raise on NL10 unless you have the nuts, you'd probably do just fine unless Villain is a maniac.

@ jbpatzer: I used to think "villain had never a set here because raising looks super strong and makes me fold out everything" and then I got shown a set almost every time. So yeah thinking that they think on the level of "what do I get called if I raise here with my set, I look superstrong by doing this" doesn't seem right and it saver to assume that they think on the level of "oh, I have a set let's raise and get it in!!!" espacially because my opponents looks way to nitty be even close to optimal ( although not enough hands to know for certain). Also his bet-size looks like a bet-size most of the nits choose if they have a value hand and pairs are definately in his SB calling range here and I doubt that hands like 97s and J9s are in his calling range . considering that I don't think my KK beats lots of his value hands unless he plays the same way with JJ and QQ
