I went to your last coaching for about 10 minutes, but it made me want to play Spin and Gos on my iPad so I went and did that instead. I assume that was the desired effect? Maybe if you were paralytic I'd prefer to stay at the coaching....just a thought. ♠_drink:
So Tim, can we bit this spin's? I Played like 300 won about 1K back in the day's when for 1$ you would won 1k occasionally. But i had about 60 B.I downswing immediately after that. Still i have a big ROI but i don't have the heart to play them anymore.
Hi Don Ermoso,
I think it's becoming clear that Spins/Jackpots/Twister etc. can be beaten for a modest ROI as long as you are willing to put in decent volume. What is not known is exactly what ROI ranges are achievable. It's safe to say that anyone hitting a 100+ multiplier in their first 1-3k games will be capable (in principle) of an ROI in the upper percentile, whereas those who don't hit will have to be content with a much lower ROI. All this assumes that the player has a solid ITM of at least 35-36%+. I should make clear this is instinctul rather than based on any concrete calculation by me!
Actually, me and my friends total 40k games at Spin and go and our avg. EV winrate is 36.49% (and i honestly believe that is worse than it should be, we are still learning game after all). And that is for $30s only which is supposed to be hardest limit. With this winrate you have less than 5% chance to be losing after 5k games. Just some input
Thanks, zilltine. Sounds about right to me. I have 4.2% ROI on ABI $28 with 37.2% ITM, for comparison.
Incidently, good luck to my buddy @bigstealer, currently riding high on the FT of UKIPT5, London. edit: He finished in 4th -superb result.
January Wrapup
So, I've decided not to do a monthly results summary for a while. My plan for the year is taking shape and it's going to involve increasing my ABI a decent amount so that I'm investing a bigger portion of my BR on a daily basis. Variance will therefore increase and so measuring things on a monthly basis will make even less sense than it did before (already pretty arbitrary given how poker works!)
What I will do is give a Total $ Invested figure, so I can track my progress:
$34,356.00
January was by no means terrible. About halfway through I decided to pull out the big guns and make a push for decent volume and buyins, come what may. Had both a $1k+ day and a -$2.5k day
In the end, made a very modest profit at the tables (SnGs/Spins), ok rakeback, and some extra on coachings. It's not what it used to be and indeed it's been a while since I've had a really big month. This month I'll try for 15k vpp which will be a record for me if I manage it. 60s Spins are out now, so that will be interesting!...
In other news, I'm learning German via Duolingo, which is a pretty cool app. Also aiming to kick the dog phobia once and for all with some serious confrontation/immersion etc. So Dog Gauntlet is back with a vengeance! Reading Bryson's Notes from a Big Country, which is great fun; easy and funny. The 5 year old is beginning to make her first steps as a reader, spelling out words which sure is exciting for us doting parents.
Ok, all for now.
Thanks for following and see you on Thursday for another Jackpot SnG coaching!
Interesting wrap-up Tim. Good luck with VPP-chase, German, and the dog thing.
I don't intend to play Spin & Go's any time soon, but I always enjoy watching your vids as I'm sure to pick up some very solid and well explained thinking. Thanks.
Hey Tim64!
I saw your Spin&Go videos. Very nice stuff. Thx! Can you explain me the HUD stats? I am just creating a new HUD for the Spin&Gos.

Thank you Extramask ![]()
Here's the HUD stats I used in the videos:
name/#hands/adjusted BB
vpip/raise first in/3bet/3b vs steal
steal/steal from button/steal from SB/fold vs steal
fold vs flop bet/cont. bet/Agression factor
Best wishes,

February Review
Graph shows chips won/hand:

Finally a decent month's grind! Managed to invest nearly three times as much as last month, at
$91,408.
#Games: 1,533
ABI: $59.60.
As you can see from graph, ran kinda bad for most of the month which was tedious, but it caught up towards the end and I was pretty happy with my prize distribution ![]()
Was ill a few days and the school half term holidays meant some lost grinding. I think 1750-2000 games should be possible in a good month.
Tonight we're going to see Simon Amstell and I am super excited:
Nice volume Tim! This month was couple days shorter, so 1.5k games = 1.75k games! ♠_thumbsup:
