Where has PokerStars gone?

No access to the software, network check shows a bad connection to the website. Tried loading their homepage through a google search, all it returns is "problem loading page"

Could this be connected to the recent hacking of players accounts as posted in an earlier thread under this section?

Anybody any ideas or can anyone else log into PokerStars right now?

Interesting, it may seem as those already logged in are alright, I guess the traffic will soon start dropping if others can't load the software. Will be interesting to see what the cause maybe. Reading the article I referred to earlier I'm definitely investing in an RSA security token

I can't log in also.

I've sent email to their support and on Facebook page also, but they didn't respond.

Hope it's nothing serious.

Flopraiser, can you explain what's RSA token ?

Hi Cimer88,

It's a token that generates a unique 6 digit number, this number continuously changes. To log into stars you would need to enter your password and the 6 digit number on your token to log in, once setup, your token is then unique to your account, therefore you cannot borrow a friends if you lose yours. I believe you also get a printed sheet with 25 one time use passwords if you don't have your token to hand. I use one of these at work for logging onto the works system from a laptop outside of work. Google RSA security token and you will see images of it.

Edit:
You need to purchase them through your stars account, from the VIP store, depending on your status depends how many FPP's they will cost you. I know for a Gold member it's 2500 FPP's.

It seems the update server is not working? Perhaps the mobile version is not affected by it.

From 2p2:

Just go the to folder where you have installed Pokerstars client and find Pokerstars (application) and open it. It should work now, because it doesnt need to check for updates.

Hey coldchurch,

You will need to go to the PokerStars folder in C:\Program Files\PokerStars and doubleclick pokerstars.exe . This bypasses the update process and there is obviously something wrong with their latest updates.

Regards

Laz
