I will do a little write up shortly.
That's awesome man - I've got the program, but I'm not with the program... maybe your write up will inspire me to finally take the plunge...
Weight lost
It was after my Aug holiday that I decided to do a little something about my expanding waist line; it had been growing bit by bit over probably more years than I realised. Any way tape measure out let’s look at the damage and do something about it.
Scores on the doors, 40” waist and 12 stone 3lb on a 5’ 6 “frame, kind of biscuit barrel shape. My ideal weight I guessed should be 11 stone and waist… god knows.
Out of the door went sugar in my tea, no beer, smaller portions, no snacking/grazing. Started jogging and did a few sit ups and the like also bought a second hand cycling machine and a second hand elliptical thingy. By mid-October i had lost 1 stone 4 lb (to 10 Stone 13Lb) and 4” off my waist. My wife was supposed to be participating but was not overly enthusiastic and therefore not really giving it her all. She hates all form of exercise but loves watching every sport under the sun.
So I had reached my target and was more interested in getting the good lady to do a bit.
Insanity
My son had been going on about this programme literally for ever, always with his head in the cloud
thinking that 9 weeks graft could give him the Arnie body. Long story short he bought his friends unused copy and I agreed to do it with him. I recognised that a bit of toning was what I needed next.
Fast forward he lasted a week and my good lady became my training partner we both completed the whole 9 weeks never missing one session and it was so hard it beggars belief. I know very few finish this programme and fewer still without missing sessions. You need to demonstrate a commitment that so many think they can but, “when the going gets tough”...
My wife is superwoman, 6 days a week exercising for 9 weeks, working so hard that you are in a puddle of sweat and on the edge of vomiting at almost every session. She demonstrated what can be done with will power.
I lost a further 4 lb and another 2” off my waist, Jan lost 12lb in total and 3” off her waist.
Next
Relax for a couple of days, and then back on it. During this phase I was directed to “parkrun” events and am going to continue competing in those. I have my eye on the age group record. I clearly do not need to lose any more weight (10stone 9lb now) But Jan has a bit more work to do. So going to be swimming, kettle bell routine, exercise biking and maybe do Insanity again but over a much longer period. Train 4/5 times a week is the plan.
Any questions fire away.
Steve
And I think that this would be a good time for this Blog to sink down the list of posts, this is a poker forum after all.
7 years warmup should have been enough 8 definitely is and i at least now know that poker for me is going to be fun and nothing else, I wish you all the very best in your poker journeys.

Yes it is a poker forum... One where we constantly link poker with great effort, motivation, accomplishment, and personal improvement... Everything your recent posts have spoke to. As long as you want to - keep blogging about whatever you like, and let the audience worry about if they want to read or not.
I agree. You're going nowhere pal
I believe poker has helped me with other areas of my life so other areas are definitely welcome here.
You have planned, focused and achieved your short term goal with a plan going forward. Remind you of something?
Best of luck mate
(skipping banana is my new favourite)
ok ok I hear you
Just so December doesn't slip away.
Had 2 days rest and then 2 short trg runs, which although tiring it felt nice to put in a bit of controlled work rather than just facing another mental workout. Going to rest now before Sat park run, I have a couple of demons to be put to bed. This will be the first time attempt when rested so looking forward to the result. I will not be surprised if it isn't a massive improvement in the time as my body still very tired but certainly in the next few weeks as I get into the running trg hope to see a chunk come off my time.
Having said all that I have some records to bust this weekend, expect to beat them all. Sat parkrun and the rest done on Sun.

Awesome bud - glad to see you are still at it and doing quite well from looks of it.
A month and a half is too long between updates though...
Really, 3 Feb since my last visit it seems literally days ago, where the hell does all the time go. Any way thought I had better pop in and tidy up a bit, get the hoover out do a bit of dusting.
Cliffs:
Poker not played much been buying a bit to keep my sweats up and win a few $$$, goner play a bit more I think probably my old friend the 45's strangely how I gravitate to them, I guess they fit my lifestyle and available time.
Fitness:
Running with Daughter and Son and plodding away nicely. Lost Stone and half during my Insanity madness and have managed to keep a stone of that off which is nice.
Work:
Love my job but some forced changes maybe around the corner.
Grandkid count:
5 already in play and 2 more booked, happy days.
For you that deserve it, get the lot for, you who don't........ I hope that you get exactly what you deserve.
