So last week was a pretty shitty week challenge wise. A lot of second nuts running into the nuts and all that crap. :f_frown: Set under set but no set over sets. I did however manage to 1 outer one of my under sets so I guess that's something  Time to sharpen up my game and take on a new week! GL to you all :f_love:

:spade: Week 20 summary :spade:

Hands: 4504
Profit: -$10,50
Current BR: $320,52

Thanks Vonki - I enjoyed your video :)

I did wonder what I was doing watching it when you started explaining the names of the positions ("the seat with the small disk is called the button" :p) and think of myself as above it - but I kept watching and it did give me some food for thought and give me some ideas to try, and it was useful to me and educational, so thankyou :)

Thank YOU for your feedback! :) I have to say it was not an easy task, actually. I was instructed to make it so easy to understand that my mother would understand what's going on. I'm not saying my mom is dumb or anything  , but it's really hard for me to think back to the very beginning and how confusing pretty much anything was back then. So i figured I'd explain whatever came to mind. Seems a lot of beginners found the explanations useful thankfully  at the same time happy that someone with a bit of experience such as yourself could find some use of it too! :f_love:

So I found this really interesting article.

http://liveyourlegend.net/warren-buffetts-5-step-process-for-prioritizing-true-success-and-why-most-people-never-do-it/

For the most part I agree with what it says. Maybe not so much the part about totally ignoring everything that isn't on your top 5, since I think there needs to be some sort of life balance involved as well somehow. I'd say dedicating 80% of your time to your top 5 sounds like a great plan though!

I also believe this concept works really well for pokerplayers, when it comes to improving. Even I sometimes have a list that's just far too long on what videos to watch, books to read, what leaks to fix, what mental game stuff to work on... in the end not enough gets learned to the level of unconscious competence it needs to be because I'm trying to fix or do too much at once. Focus on a couple, maybe 3 things at a time and make sure you master it, then replace whatever you master from your top three. That's the way to go :f_thumbsup:

Not a very interesting update this time because I simply didn't have a lot of time to play on my side challenge this week. In fact none at all :f_frown: I will try to find a bit of time for some hands this week! :)

So I started listening to an audiobook called "Eat that frog" by Brian Tracy. First of all I have to say that i LOVE audio books. As a student/pokerplayer it's such a relief to get a break from the books/computer and be able to move around while listening to something either useful or just some fiction audio book to distance my brain from work for a while. Lots better than watching a series or procastinating in some other way since I can then cook, take a walk, clean or something else that needs be done anyway at the same time!

Second of all I am also loving Tracy's book so far. Very motivational and I'll definitely be listening a second time around, but then make notes and figure out ways how to apply everything from the book. It doesn't entierly apply to a pokerplayer imo, since part of his system is doing the most important/dreaded tasks first in the day, and continue until it's completed before moving on to less important/dredded tasks. For me it's really important with frequent breaks from the tables and on high volume days, some semi long break between session blocks. But I think there will be a way to work around that, and still find a lot of use from the book. :)

Tracy said something interesting about just 2% of the people being what he said are "leaders". People who are able to put pressure on themselves and get things done. The rest rely on other people to tell them what to do and motivate them. I guess that's kind of true. I think most of us pokerplayers are trying to fit in that 2% field, but dang, it's no easy task. :f_p:

I belong to the group that is TRYING to fit into that 2%. Not yet successfully, at least not every day and not in every area, but I am waaaaaaay closer than I was some years ago.

What about you guys, what do you consider yourselves? :f_biggrin:

I decided to completely quit nicotine this week.... Earlier I went from cigarettes to e-cigarette as substitute but I decided to give it up completely now, so my mood has been... less than awesome this week :f_biggrin: so I've only got some NL2 hands in, and even there, despite winning, I couldnt quite refrain from being overly grupmy  not rly a pleasant state to be in , so the first days of this week will be quite poor volume wise as well.Maybe the whole week. Which again is OK because quitting nicotine is just going to be so so worth it. And a new semester of school is starting anyway. Do I happen to know anyone who speaks decent italian?

Anyway here is pics and stuff.

:spade: Week 23 summary :spade:

Hands: 845
Profit: +$6.51
Current BR: $368.20

Need my evening for studying so I'll wrap up the weekly update a bit early for once! Still having a few struggles with nicotine withdrawals... my motivation, mood and energy levels are like a roller coaster... Reckon it will probably get easier soon. Happy with a good week in spite of it all! :f_love: bit over EV again

:spade: Week 24 summary :spade:

Hands: 3 245
Profit: +$55.42
Current BR: $423.62

At this point I've completed 28% of my challenge! Slowly trucking on towards the finish line! :milord:
