Played another 1k hands at Nl400 pretty much break even today. Pretty frustrating because I was up between 2 and 3 BI at one point. I think I played well. As usual there are a couple of hands I should have played differently.

I'm going to keep on trying at Nl400 and see what happens.

Thanks Kaitz20 and szcsaba86! It's really nice to get encouragement/congratulations especially after tough sessions like last weekend :)

I feel like I played one of the best sessions of Nl400 so far in terms of minimizing my mistakes. I finished up a little over 2BI in 700 hands. I feel much more comfortable at the tables now than I did at first which is good...it took a while for me to get used to more money flying around!

Played another 1.3k hands today up a little under 3BI . I feel like I played quite well today. I got into a few weird spots where people cold called my 4bets and I missed the flop. It will be interesting to see what the coaches have to say about them because I was kind of unsure of my plays.

Here's a graph of Nl400 so far...my poker tracker missed a couple hands somehow so I'm actually up like 500$ according to my BR (about 400 less than the graph says)

I'm really happy that I'm a little better than break even now at this limit...I guess it's time to try and crush it now

Played about 500 hands today up 2.5 BI. Unfortunately my computer cable stopped working so I ran out of batteries in the middle of my session :baby: . The tables were rediculously good on top of that! I had never seen as many fish at the tables as I did today. Hopefully I can get myself a new cable in the next couple days so that i can get back to the tables.

I also won my biggest pot so far today. I'm using my girlfriends comp so I can't show the hand history. It was a 1200$ 3 way all in on an all hearts flop with me holding the AJ of hearts for the flopped nuts! One guy had a set and the other top pair and the K of hearts. Luckily the board didn't pair.

Ok, I'm back at the tables again!

I took the past week off of poker because I was feeling frustrated while playing so I knew I needed a break. Last weekend I lost my whole FT role playing mtt's and getting deep a number of times without ever getting any big wins. I think this was the main reason for my frustration...it's hard going deep in like 5 tourneys in 2 days without ever getting a good cash. I think I can mostly credit this to bad play as well, which is what really pisses me off. I also lost 3 BI on Nl400, but I think for the most part I played pretty well there.

Anyways... enough about that. Since it's the end of Nov I'll recap my goals.

November Summary

+BB/100 hands at Nl200/400 over 25-30k sample size- Pokertracker says I played about 22k hands at just under 2k profit (all the profit was at Nl200, and pretty much break even Nl400). I know I didn't reach my 25k hands goal, but I still consider this as a completed goal because I was smart enough to take a break when I felt frustrated as opposed to keep grinding (and probably lose) achieved

-watch every mtt/sh video up to platinum- I think I watched them all now at least once achieved

-review every session and never multitable over 6- I think I did a good job in terms of review this monthachieved

-stay active in hand posting forum- achieved

-maintain in control of tilt- I think I played a couple of mtt's on small tilt, but I was smart enough to take a week off when I realized... so I guess I failed this goal but it could have been worse. failed

-16k BR- My end of the month BR stands at 13 900$ after rakeback so just over break even this month. failed

Overall It's hard not to be a little frustrated after making it to 17k and then dropping back to 14k to finish the month break even. I am happy with my cash game progress though, because I continued to beat Nl200. I also played about 10k hands at Nl400 break even which I'm confident I can improve on.

I'll post my december goals when I get a chance... hopefully I can get back to moving in the right direction!

December Goals

- become diamond member- This means generating 3.5k rake, which I think translates to something like 25-30k hands.

+BB/100 hands on Nl400- I'm going to continue to focus on cash games this month and I'd like to have a decent win rate on Nl400 by the end of the month...no more break even!

-review every session and don't multitable over 6tables- It's obviously important that I don't just keep grinding...but keep working on improving my game.

-don't wast mtt buy-ins- Last month I dropped 2k in mtt's.... I'm not too happy about that. I know that variance is large and it could be just due to this, but I'd say I made a lot of critical errors in late stages of mtt's mostly due to lack of concentration. If I decided to play some mtt's I have to make sure I really focus on it!

-maintain in control of tilt

-don't play above skill/bankroll level- I have no plans to move above Nl400 this month. If I drop below 11k I'll be moving back to Nl200 as well.

I think that's about it.

I've played 4.5k hands up about 2BI at Nl400 so far this month. I think I'm playing ok and I've identified more leaks in my game which is good. I'll post some hands on the forum when I get a chance as well.

I haven't had much time to play... I've only played 3k hands at Nl400 and a couple of tourneys since my last update. I've continued to bounce back which is good, up something like 3 BI at Nl400 and small profit in tourneys.

Hey Georgio, your story is quite interesting. I am a canadian as well 22 years old. I had the same problem as you (BRM mostly). Now I take it really seriously and am now 1.7k BR. I read a lot, take break, manage tilt better, etc.

I'll try to follow your blog more now! It concerns lot of stuff about my reality xept maybe the BR in itself.

I have the following project : Reach 25k BR in 1 year and a half to travel all around the world with it.

I tried reading all the pages but just couldnt do it.

And i find your start of poker was similar to me i kept on blowing away my BR, first time 300$ then 500$ and another 600$, im quite stubborn as you see .

Anyways good luck and nice going.
