Hey,
Really nice coaching. Keep up the good work :)

I ll write briefly some suggestions, maybe more in the future.

I play mostly 50nl zoom, trying to move up at 100nl zoom at the moment.

What I would find interesting to see (and I think also will be useful) is river play, if possible by position pairs... i.e. btn vs bb etc

In particular, river calling with bluff catchers, river raising as bluff / raising turning our hand to bluff, river bluffing when we are the bettor.

General game plan + how to adapt vs specific opponents profiles.

Hey guys,

Looking forward to this coaching. Should be fun!;)

I am currently playing 10NL and I am struggling with lack of volume and finding myself a bit lost against certain opponent types.

I am interested in the following scenario with the different variations it comes with:

I have an aggressive player in the blinds who 3bets a lot. Postflop he is aggressive as well, applying a lot of pressure.
The obvious adjustments are to have a tighter ORR and letting him barrel off post when we have a strong hand. This creates some problems: we are not able to steal and we give up postflop quite a lot.
Against these players I also have a pretty well constructed 4betting range. So here I mentioned a few obvious adjustments everyone should be able to make if dealing with a villain like this when he is in the blinds.
What I am looking for are some suggestions for adjustments we have to make postflop against this type of player.

ex. if they cbet a lot we can start raising their cbets with weaker parts of our range (GSSD, BDFD, BDSD, weaker made hands).

Okay guys,

it seems to me that the majority of you would like to see more in-depth discussions about post flop.

This next week/coaching will do it this way, please chose a theme between these two:

1- Discuss call down/raising ranges in single raised pot on the BB (versus BU and CO)
2- Discuss OOP play in single raised pots as the pre flop aggressor (when to check, what to cbet, etc)

I'll try to make a poll out of this (dunno how yet). In the meantime please vote 1 or 2 in this thread. So we can chose and you start posting hands that fit the description.

Cheers

I'm probably more unclear with point 2 but perhaps point 1 is more frequent

I'll go with vote 2 because probably improve my overall thinking processes of the game

I tried to edit my first post to add a poll, it doesn't show a poll option.

Ok guys, it seems that option 1 has won. Please post hands where you want to discuss cbet or check ranges OOP as the PFR in single raised pot.

See you soon

I created the filter for this in PT4 here's my graph recent sample @25nl [RFI, no 3bet, saw flop OOP]

Hand 1
Villian unknown, looks like a fish half stack, standard open UTG and we catch this flop, vs a fish I have for sure 2 streets but I feel thin getting 3. My plan bet bet check call if the spades bust and he bets around half pot.
- Questions, with top pair hands on this type of texture (Axx, Kxx) which aren't at the top of our range how should we play;
vs an unknown / fish? I think i prefer playing bet bet check/decide but not sure if I should also use bet check bet line
vs a reg? start wanting to check because we don't have 3 streets
vs a agro? start wanting to check because I don't want to get raised and I give them a chance to bluff
multiway? want to play bet check bet

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has T♥ K♥

Hero bets 5 BB, BTN calls 5 BB

Hero mucks T♥ K♥ (One Pair, Kings)
(Pre 69%, Flop 79%, Turn 93%)
BTN wins 73.52 BB

Hand 2
Playing draws OOP, on this example the board smashes the callers range, If I want to cbet I am betting big like 80% of the pot but often feel I will villian will be calling flop & turn pushing me to tripple or.. raising which sucks. My default is definitely to double barrel don't really like how i played it

Questions
- On this texture how should play our NFD's? Think I would usually bet large twice and check fold OTR with my Axs and tripple barrell with a hand like KTs,KQs,KJs or should I be check calling some of these?
- How do we play a hand like AJ diamonds? vs a fish I would probably be betting big twice and check..... fold on most rivers. vs a more agressive player check call twice and fold the river (exploitatively) as i don't think people are trippling off enough
- How do we play middling pairs like K9 hearts?

Hand 3 overcards no FD

How should we play big overcards with no flush draw? e.g. AQ/KQ/AK/KJ
On LLL boards should i x/f unsuited overcards? and even with suited cards with the BDFD could myself cbetting and only picking up my suit every so often to barrell OTT
In the example below i'm not sure exactly why I'm betting flop other than i have alot of good barrelling opportunities OTT & hand equity - plan to bet and ace, king, queen or ten OTT. I hate the river card and he could still have some sets that didn't raise the turn in his range

Last hand, playing mildy connected hands with backdoors - i decided to check raise here because my hand isn't strong enough to call, I think alot of villians bet too much IP HOWEVER, after trying this line a few times I think they always put me on a draw and i've seen some terrible calldowns with weak middle pairs even when I've trippled with equity & overcards OTT and it's not a line I take very often atall.

Hi Double2
Looking forward to the coaching this Thursday. I have in the last 2 months started again on my attempt to move out of the micros. This time with more success but i still have moments like this.
Something I seem to fall foul quite often when playing a relatively loose / passive player is a 2 pair.
Esp from the position of BB vs SB.
On review it seems I should have 3 bet PF to stop any nasty hands getting a chance to play.

(1) Dealt to MetalMonkie [Ah Js]

MetalMonkie: raises $1.20 to $2.40
Salsajorge: raises $2.73 to $5.13 and is all-in
MetalMonkie: calls $2.73
SHOW DOWN

Salsajorge collected $11.85 from pot

(2) My Fav fishy hand of this weeks play.
I still think I made the right choice to accept the all in considering the short stack. Tables turned and if it was a tournament I would push 9J SS.

Hey!! Looking forward for this coaching.
Ten fishy hands from me.
I don't put stats of Villains in order to discuss a general game plan. Of course then we can go deeper and also discuss how we should adapt vs specific opponent types.

It would be interesting to see, if possible, how your GTO solver would play them too :)

Villain seems to be a Reg, but not enough hands for some postflop reads (80h).

Turn bet on this wet board okay?
Which river line do you prefer?
Guess the river should be a bluffcatch, at least with the KcKx, QcQx, JcJx with xE{d,s}. Villain has not that many flushes in his range, only 1 combo KcQc and maybe sometimes 9c8c. Therefore we can discount nearly all sets. Some Ax are possible, but also not that much (only some AhXh combos and ATs imo, he will only value bet the AhQh, AhJh, ATs, maybe AhKh and Ah4h (if it's in his preflop range)).

Some other questions relating to the topic of the coaching, cbet OOP:
a) How wide do we "value" cbet on this flop, especially with Tx?
b) Do we "bluff" cbet all overcards there, because of having the backdoorstr8draws? Or only overcards with backdoorflushdraw additionally?
c) What about Hands like 99,88,7x? Default x/c or cbet for protection and folding out some equity?
(IP this should be all cbets imo.)
