Yesterday (24th of August 2015)

Continued to table select and play up to 6 tables. Focus was strong, decision making was good for the most part.
There are couple of hands which I misplayed or just felt the reg was over bluffing in such spots. In the beginning lost 1 stack with such call, later on things turned around as I was exploiting most if not all players on all tables effectively. For exploitable reasons in another hand I double barreled in 3 bet pot and folded to shove even though this hand could have worked as check IP on the turn. Once I did in depth analysis for it, I realized that turning it into a bluff is not such a bad idea only if it continues to do so 3 streets (which was initial plan). So I am happy with that hand even though I double barreled and folded to turn x/shove. Another hand that I am happy but I lost a whole stack was SB vs BTN 3 bet pot. I 3 barrel showed on KdJd9h5c7h with AhQh. Opponent who was aggressive pre flop actually called down with AKo which is weird cause I expected him to have it in his 4 betting range BTN vs SB. Regardless of the fact that I lost that hand, it was very +EV for so many reasons. Opponent on average calls there TPTK+ hands and folds all the weaker. When I did in depth range analysis I saw that it was very +EV because I am blocking a lot of his value combos with my bluffs + on average they are over folding in such spot (example they don't call off Jx 3 barrels here). Also, my range is very value heavy on this board for 3 barreling and value to bluff ratios favors value hands to something like 3.5:1 or so from top of my head. I have QTs as a straight, all the sets from flop (99,JJ KK), over pair AA, TPTK, TPSK. Of course on the river I am never shoving KQ but more like AK+ since most guys call off here KQ KT even as bottom of their range. So despite loosing a stack there, I am very happy the way hand played out + the actual holding I had was blocking value calling range from opponent (AK , KQ, QT!).
Other than those hands, I did loose pre flop with AA vs KdJd where flop came 3 diamonds, turn J, river blank, opponent had 2nd nut flush while I had from flop over pair + nut fd. So despite the blocker and getting it in pre flop, I didn't hold there, and you can see that in the graph around 1.3k hands.
When it comes to number of hours, I played 4 just like yesterday and I can definitely do 5 or more which I plan to implement from today just sticking to the same principles - up to 6 tables, maximum focus and table selection, shorter sessions and implementing exploitation of all opponents.
I would evaluate yesterday's grind with 6.5/10. There were times where I played A game, B game also but there was that 1 hand that I messed up in the very beginning which dropped down my win rate by half stack or so!
Besides all the grinding, I did study a lot yesterday. A lot being 4+ hours. Did work in CREV with different ranges and frequencies. Also watched 1st half of video that has excellent theory and concept that I need to re-watch and do the assignments for. In the evening I studied together with elpsycho focusing on 2 areas CREV and improving HUD + finding specific leaks from certain reg. Overall very happy with how studying habit has been refined past 4-5 days, the whole day just flies now and I feel I am getting very quickly back in the zone for poker activities 9+ hours. This approach will certainly give results in very near future - I feel I am right there to crush this NL50 but I also know that nothing comes easy to me in my life and I have to work 10x harder then average person to understand everything well and strong to make it part of my auto pilot knowledge.
Past 2 days, 3k hands +7 stacks. EV 23.8bb/100 running at 26.4bb/100. The funny thing is that this wasn't even upswing type of run. Sure there were pre flop all ins but also I was getting massively payed off by recreational players, my bluffing was going through, my value betting was excellent (got called with 2nd pair or worse on river dozen times vs right sizing), my calls on river were spot on thanks to new things implemented in the HUD... Overall things are looking strong but I still have a lot of work to do as besides exploitative approach I want to understand everything and why I am doing it which is much closer to GTO approach type of studying and to me this is priceless - it will never go out of date to learn it!
Today's time management will consist of following things:
- Studying minimum 3 hours (CREV, HUD improvement + leak finder of regs, re-watching a video and taking notes to implement it in the session, studying with elpsycho in the evening)
- Grinding minimum 5 hours (3-4 sessions, up to 6 tables, maximum focus, exploiting leaks from all the opponents + implementing new concept from latest video study)
- Eating well and taking enough brakes for regeneration
- Possibly meeting with best friend for coffee later today
By the way, tomorrow my team Partizan Belgrade plays rematch vs BATE Borisov in play off for Champions League. Of course, I am going to Belgrade and about 35 hours before the game, I am super psyched and can't wait to go there cheer whole game, bring additional energy to my team to enter Champions League group stages and then celebrations can begin!
Enjoy your day and week on and off the tables!
