I mean these are the spots which get me off my a-game a little, venturing from mild irritation to anger in some cases. When bad cards come and i've value bet some station all the way to the river I get irritated, was getting a semi decent price to call but with flush and straight out there on board, should have found the fold on the river. C/F (unless small bet) probably best line. They don't catch me too often, and I'm often able to fold, but sometimes when my game slips I end up making bad calls like this.

Fortunately not too long after this yesterday as I was tired and also felt my mental game slipping I stopped the session. Success!

Good news I went and watched some tv and didn't let my tilt affect me too much.

If you don't like losing, or are not excited and in love with the idea of learning how to like losing... then don't pick online poker as a hobby or professional pursuit.

My thinking was so backwards on this. I'm running 6bi bad... poor me... this is so bad... this is poker. This is normal.

Learn a strategy to win in spite of running bad or find another hobby! No more bad beat wines in this thread!!

I don't have problems with tilt through "running bad" - what tilts me is knowing I've played badly - so I probably cannot relate too much to what you're saying - so this may or may not help....

In my HM2 reports, I don't even show profit (because its irrelevant if I'm playing within my bankroll) - all I see is EV - which is (for me) far more important than the individual swings of individual hands. I even report in my blog only EV results. The only time I even see actual results is when I post graphs (you cannot remove actual winnings from the graph unfortunately) or in the bankroll challenge (which is based, unsurprisingly enough on bankroll) - If I get it all in pre flop with AA against 72o - this shows up on my reports as a profit .... even if this specific hand comes down with a flop of 777. I made a profitable decision, I don't care what "variance" results are. My visible reports reflect this correct decision

Been a tough week this week. Mentally it was hard, and I also had some distractions.

Mental Side First
2nl went great in my first week, i 4-6 tabled and was really playing my spots well. This was shown in my great winrate. The move to 5nl went bad. Very bad, it seemed that I just could not win a hand no matter what I did. My old demons came back (believing stars is rigged), and I played a little bad too.

In the end I finished $13.00 down at 5nl for the week. I managed it reasonably well by trying to keep my mental game functioning even if I was under the kosh.
I moved my bankroll off of stars and into another site and proceeded to make 12 buyins at 4nl which was a good boost.
I also played some SNG's for a change with my $10 vip reward on stars, and ended up at $32.78 on stars.

Distractions

My awesome sister, and niece and nephews visited for 2 days, which cut my play time down very significantly. But it was of course very worth it.

Overall when I convert my euros to dollars, and add everything up I've finished as follows: -

So I'm $60 away from my target for the week, but the week i've had, all things considered I'm happy with that.
The profit from the other site (the 12 buyins at 4nl) where all made in the last 5 hours! So it goes to show you, persevere with your week even if it's not going well and if you stay on your game it can always turn around a little bit.

Not that I'm an expert or smtg but: just some thoughts:
That 9-9 hand : such a raise on the river is always the nuts. I would fold with a big sigh. Like your sizing thoughtout the hand.
That A2s hand : from MP, it's a fold for me. Postflop: perfect imo.
That AA : raise more OTF. you give him insane odds. he needs to call 80 cent for a pot of $2.47. don't let his small bet fool you. OTT I would just bet 50%pot and call a shove, but shoving does get some people to call with lesser hands bc they think you bluff so I do shove sometimes in those situations. In my experience, people are getting smarter though and very often fold unless the have you beat.

And about the 99 above, calling there is like 99% of the time burning money even if you think you're commited but calling with like 1% equity (cuz 99% of the time from my experience villain got this flush) just sucks

Hey all. Update. Couldn't afford my travel in the end, time was getting too close. So I sold my package. Have deposited the majority of the proceeds into my bankroll. Bankroll 700 euros now, and I'm having a go at 50nl.

Short Term Goals
Play 100 hours at 50nl.
Keep focussed, play the best I have ever played in my life.
Don't tilt hard.

Just restarted the bankroll challenge also, my new target is to get to 1500 euros.

the rules of the BR Challenge say that you need to aim at minimum quintupling your Bankroll.
Means either play with 700 and win 3.5k or play with 300 to win 1.5k

Moving from 5NL to 50NL is a good idea? I guess if you have the means then it's OK but maybe some time at 25NL first?

Good point Gary! totally different play on 50nl esp if you have just gone up from 5nl.
I am down from 25nl to 10nl this week. There are to many swings for me on 10nl atm compared to 25nl. It would be advised to give 25nl a go for a week and see how you do.
Hopefully I will be able to get back up to 25nl soon.
I would recommend this series of video tutorials by Rogier King of full Ring before you start going to a higher level.
