Dear admins,
Even though I suspect you've taken the decision to stop giving status upgrades for winning a challenge (as opposed to one upgrade a week for a random participant), you haven't removed this promise from the OP of the thread and have never mentioned such a change throughout the thread either, and I don't think you can change the policy retroactively if you mean business.
Apart from myself (speaking of my old June-August challenge), there are two more winners in September: bonecore and husky333 (congrats to both!).
Bonecore has expressed his discontent by the absence of a status upgrade in a comment the last news about the challenge, which has prompted me to raise my voice too.
I did offer you to contact me and tell what kind of proofs you needed (audit files etc.), but didn't hear from you on that matter.
How to deal with the two last winners is the matter of your affairs with them; for myself, I'd like to request an upgrade to Platinum for just a week, from Sep 24 to Sep 30 (like, say, the Russian community tends to do), so that my status fall to its normal value exactly at the beginning of the next month, which seems like a reasonable compromise to me, given the history of our relationship.
Thanks!
He tonypmm,
you are right that you and the two others deserve the update and I haven't given it yet for reasons not apparent to you.
Well, let me make them apparent:
I was approached by bonecore that he is interested in publishing a user generated video - to encourage discussion, introduce his game etc. This proposal came in the week prior to finishing the challenge. I am now awaiting the video and was thinking of making these three things together in a news:
- bonecore & 2 other guys finished the challenge - here your well deserved Upgrade
- bonecore also wants to present his video - here it is
- we took the chance to conduct a small interview with him - here it is,too.
I hope that procedure makes sense for you - we want to have more motivated guys in.
The thing that you are completely right is that without telling you it looks like we are missing the upgrades as a thank you for you. I'll hand them out right now.
Hope this explanation is to your complete satisfaction - we have zero interest in reducing our efforts for the BR challenge! If you ask me what is the part of my work for the english community that is most fun then my answer 100% will be: the BR challenge!

Hi Sven, thanks for the upgrades!

Why wouldn't you do monthly recaps telling that N members have won in the month and, immediately upon winning, received their upgrades which are still in force anyway?
Because this is the first month where we have multiple winners. And yes, the upgrades are in force and will stay in force - I simply cannot guarantee 100% timing due to holidays, weekends and other tasks. However, it will be a full month for everyone at least.

Can I re enter when I bust?of course
Isn't there the same 4-week timeout period during which the busted participant can't rejoin, i.e. isn't busting out equivalent to getting a red card? That's how it's done e.g. in the Russian community, and it's quite logical and prevents members from specifying too small starting bankrolls.
(I make that sin myself, but at least I tell in advance which expensive games I exclude from the accounting, they're only a small part of my activity anyway. The idea is similar to the concept of a solid defence line in Tankroll BRM: I have challenge games that I'm testing for reliable beatability for a living in the long run, which allows me to look into the future with optimism and venture into some non-challenge games from time to time that I probably don't beat.)
Unfortunately I had a very bad run and I had to deposit more money. So I guess that counts as busted. I think I'm now out of the challenge for a while? When can I rejoin?
