Hey thanks. I don't know for how long I am going to be playing, it depends on my classes starting or not. If they start I'll stop playing, cash out everything but $20 just in case I have to come back for any reason. Meanwhile I play.
Last year my goal was precisely to move away to Europe with a friend, being the university in the same circumstances it is right now. I didn't go because classes suddenly started and I bet for the degree. Right now I don't really want to leave.
I live well here. I'm planning to stay until things go terrible. Like riots and chaos bad. But I don't think that will happen, everyone is fed and ignorant. Maybe in the future I'll go to a better place, but right now I'm going to hang a bit more in hell

Hey Harrier good to see you back! I know $1000 in 3 months isn't probably going to happen, but there's my aim right now.
Today I started on NL5 with a little over a thousand hands:
At the beginning I was playing a little scared money, remembering some nasty hits that I took last year when I was going up.
Today's outcome has helped with my confidence, tho I still need to make some adjustments to my game. People play different. Not going to say better, just different. Today I found myself catching a lot of bluffs. Bluffs in NL2 are not so common.
This weekend I'm going to play like today, not many hands, short sessions, hopefully on Monday I'll be a little more solid.

Hey guys! Updating to let you know I'm back to NL2 my bankroll is $51. Got crushed in NL5 in less than 4 days. Terrible weekend followed by terrible Monday. A mix between mistakes that costed me entire stacks, people finishing gut-shots in the river and shoving and not being able to get value when I had the best hand. Well, let's see how long does this downswing lasts.

Bad luck losing that money, but that's all part of the game. Shame that you had to move down, since I now started playing NL5 Zoom myself, but definitely a wise decision.
Poker is a marathon, not a sprint, and I'm sure you'll be back more sooner than later.

Hey guys, been a few days. Not really much to update I'm still struggling with my downswing, down to $39 now.
Don't want to depress anyone with the bad beats I'm getting. Also losing a lot of money calling with worse hands. Guess it's the outcome of running dry, you play hundreds of hands without hitting, when you got something pretty enough you can't lay it down. 'Come on they can't have the nuts every time I'm holding something good' , oh but they do. I know they are not bluffing, I know their draw just completed, still can't lay my fucking hand down.
When you are running bad, everything looks like the winning hand. Like the hand that is going to end this fucking downswing and is going to get you that buy-in you lost when your kings encountered aces pre-flop.

So on Saturday October 3rd in the morning I had $130 that I made in 3 weeks from scratch. I thought my game was solid, but in reality I was just running good I guess. Took my shot at NL5, in less than 3 days got back to $50 and came back to NL2, where I am now stuck with $20 after 50 thousand hands thinking if I am actually running bad or playing bad.

This set of mistakes every session added to not getting value of the few hands/hits I get is why I am losing.
It's like everything snowballs, you run bad, because of that you get into complicated situations where making mistakes is easy.
And eventually fuck up. I try every session to not make this kind of mistakes, but always end up making them after folding too much. I've known this all time. Just thought this kind of mistakes would balance with mistakes made by others. Apparently I was wrong. So I'll aim for flawless.

That's certainly some achievement, but do you think that the high volume may actually have had a detrimental influence on your game? I don't know what your sessions are typically like, but I could imagine that this might be a potential problem.
By the way, I don't believe hand #3 was a mistake. It's just a classic 'set over set' situation, I don't think you overplayed it in any way. Especially after those turn and river cards, your opponent could have had all kinds of worse hands to call you with.

Hey mate. I don't think playing too much was the cause of the problem. It was more of a consequence. The more I lost the more I played. Since the losing never stopped I found myself playing a lot. I also considered this as a problem, but after reviewing the sessions the volume wasn't making me play bad. I was playing 60-75 minutes 2 tables sessions with breaks every half hour. I just made a mistake like the ones mentioned before every like 500 hands and got value when I had it like every 2000 hands. I just can't seem to find the problem and I guess I'll really never know.
Hope you have better luck man. I'll update if I make another miracle comeback.
