Poker Stars $10.00 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players

BTN: $8.34 - VPIP: 32, PFR: 5, 3B: 3, AF: 3,4, Hands: 62
SB: $10.20 - VPIP: 9, PFR: 7, 3B: 0, AF: 0,0, Hands: 56
Hero (BB): $11.98 - VPIP: 21, PFR: 17, 3B: 4, AF: 2,4, Hands: 26193
UTG: $26.74 - VPIP: 30, PFR: 21, 3B: 5, AF: 6,0, Hands: 80
MP: $10.00 - VPIP: 17, PFR: 14, 3B: 6, AF: 17,5, Hands: 442
CO: $5.75 - VPIP: 20, PFR: 4, 3B: 0, AF: 1,0, Hands: 25

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is BB with A :diamond: K :diamond:
UTG raises to $0.30, MP raises to $0.90, CO calls $0.90, 2 folds, Hero raises to $3, 1 fold, MP raises to $10, 1 fold, Hero calls $7

So, interesting spot IMO.
The problem here is that i dont have a decent sample for "3bet from mp" on MP even with 400+ hands, so the question is: Do we have enough equity with the dead money in the pot to get our money in with AK which is definitely behind his stack off range here. The plus side is that we have a fish on the CO which gives us way better odds, but it makes this hand impossible for me to calculate as i have no idea of his range and plans for this hand
When we get shoved, its an easy call ofc, but im mostly interested about 4bet or fold as im not even considering flat on 3bet MW+OOP in a hard spot.

Why not?

UTG, facing a 3bet and two cold-calls, is really only going to be 4betting with QQ+ which is a small portion of his opening range. On the other hand, MP looks super strong and I expect him to 5bet more often than UTG 4bets if we flat.

Sure, if we flat, UTG sometimes 4bets. MP then 5bet-shoves and we can fold having invested only 9BBs and avoided running AK into AA.

Given all the action and nitty MP, I would recommend you to fold pre. For me it's like this fold>4b>call.

Folding AKs pre getting that price is ridiculous.

Folding our hand is not an option. His 3 bet is not that low.

Nice hand imo. Your hand is abs. fine for cold 4bet and with the CO fish expected to stay in the hand even more easier.

Hope you've hit the flush:f_drink:

no! not well played , by raising and calling he isolate himself vs a much stronger range

best case scenario JJ+ , AK
by calling we leave the range wider, and even though it is not ideal to play OOP this is a great hand to play post flop and improve's ones game if you find it difficult.

not necessarily but very likely :)

It would also have been more productive to discuss the post flop game OOP, to improve ones game.

So if i did the math right, you need 39% Equity, and with Rake you need for sure 40% Equity. What happens here is, that MP, who has really tight tendencies 3bets UTG. Despite this fact you 4bet, because the fish is in the hand. But more important in this hand is MP and UTG reaction. UTG shoves, his range should be very strong, because your range is also strong.
If we assume, that he ships this range, than you are toasted.

       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    37.67%  28.80%   8.86% { AdKd }
MP3    62.33%  53.47%   8.86% { QQ+, AKs }

I he is a bit loser, and has more AK in his range, than you are slightly ahead of the equity you need.

       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    41.90%  22.62%  19.28% { AdKd }
MP3    58.10%  38.81%  19.28% { QQ+, AKs, AKo }

And if he has JJ in his range you are also just sligthly ahead of the needed equity.

       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    42.80%  27.76%  15.04% { AdKd }
MP3    57.20%  42.15%  15.04% { JJ+, AKs, AKo }

But you don´t know his range, and in this spot people on NL10 tend to be tighter than loser. This is not the spot, where you make a lot of money. I would just fold preflop and wait for a better option. Instead i would look into my database, and look for hands, where i missed a valuebet on the river. These are the spots where you make money and should think about.

Yeah, 6% is his overall-stat. I think the nit is way tighter MP vs UTG and bit loser BTN vs CO and SB vs BTN.
