I agree, but let us have this! First time since 1984 we actually qualified for the Euros...

I was reading some newspapers where there was an article about „WC Third Place jinx“ for European countries except for Germany. Since 1966. every European side, beside Elf, who won third place at WC didn't qualifed for next EC.
I know that can't ease sorrow for Dutch side, I'm also a big Oranje fan, but hope they will come stronger than past years. I've also read some articles that describe problems that occured in recent past: after van Gaal departure Hiddink return Oranje's system 4-3-3 but didn't manage to motivate players after few bad results. Also he couldn't control older players and couldn't get good mixture of young and experienced players. When Blind came he also made mistake with experimenting of young players in defense, maybe because of injuries, but also didn't manage to homogenised team and make positive result.

I hope that KNVB will find best solution and get this team where it belongs, to European and World top. Netherlands has so many quality players but need someone to lead them with firm hand, maybe van Gaal again, I don't know :f_confused:

I don’t think van Gaal will do it again, but in football (soccer) you newer know it. It’s most likely better if someone like Ronald Koeman will be the man in charge. This way the ‘newer generation’ of coaches will have a change to do it. Off course it didn’t well with Blind in charge so far, but he started in a complicated situation that he needed to perform good right away.

Katanec??

Katanec, correct. I know you guys don't have the best memories of him, because we knocked you out once in WC Playoffs :) But those were different times...

lol solid gif :f_biggrin:

There's no way Van Gaal or Koeman will take over, they're both more than happy at their current clubs. Don't think Blind needs to leave either way.

Nice gif for sure :f_thumbsup:
Would be interesting if Koeman didn’t want to do it who will do it if Blind will stop coaching.
Not to many options left I think.

I don’t think he’s a option. He’s quitting as coach of AZ, because he couldn’t handle the stress a year ago. Nice gif btw :f_tongue:

So... We got Ukraine. Again! :)
And here's one of the goals that took us to Euro 2000 back in the days.

The best matchup of the playoffs. My favorites are the Swedes, in this match.

Interesting line-ups for sure. I don’t think 1 of them will go easy to the EC, but I expect Sweden, Ukraine, Republic of Ireland and Norway will do it.

Actual lol.

It's not fair that Ireland have to play Bosnia AND Herzegovina. They can barely face one team!

@CoreySteel: I remember that one. It was a sad day for us, especially because we had a great team, qualified for every tournament from 1990 to 2000, excepting EURO 92.

I hope to see Ukraine, Sweden, Ireland and Norway. Like Ibrahimovic said "I cant imagine Euro without my participation"

Interesting stat...

Slovenia had 4 qualifiers so far and we got through 3 times (Euro 2000, WC 2002 and 2010).
All other seven teams together had 17 qualifying matches and only 2 wins (Denmark and Ireland).
