Wooo I was quoted! :) Nice blog you have here, the layout and the design is really sweet and congratulations on the milestone hand, that must have been exciting!

Monday I will go over the basics of my experiences with both and the great features I have discovered with Notepad++!!

I just found out about the Notepad++ a few weeks ago as I started to learn a bit of programming and Notepade++ is used for the coding. Am interested to see how it can be useful otherwise.

Other than that, Sit and Stand desk: I love it!! Helps me a lot and I feel so much better at the end of the day.

Good luck with 6max!

How much does a sit and stand desk cost? It's something I've been considering too, actually!

durable
Definition: able to exist for a long time without significant deterioration; also : designed to be durable

Not much of an action day for me today. Did a few mindless tasks and played a few FPP satellites and made T$7.50. And played 85 hands on FR25nl :f_biggrin:

Worked through the first lesson from LemOn36 beginner course Lesson 1: Getting started with the [SH] Big Stack Strategy Part 1 - Pre-flop
Printed out the ranges for quick reference and will study these as I play the tables tomorrow. Something I am seeing also is a few leaks and bad habits I have picked up over the year and I think going over the basics will really help improve my game.

Hi vonki. Nice one with the deposit prize! I had a look around the internet at the cost of standing desks and the cost really can vary from $199 to $1500 for a really posh singing and dancing desk.
The basics I learnt is that desk ergonomics are very important. The desk must be adjustable in height, comfortable for prolonged use and easy to move from standing to sitting position. Also it is a good way to burn calories using a standing desk!

I just found out about the Notepad++ a few weeks ago as I started to learn a bit of programming and Notepade++ is used for the coding. Am interested to see how it can be useful otherwise.

Hi Mystt, thanks for the kind words :f_drink: When I won the milestone had I was very confused! I had no idea what was going on and what I needed to do! Plus I had action on other tables that didn't help. I wish I had notepad++ when I was programing years ago with Pascal! I will be using it in the future when I start writing scripts and gathering character info. The best feature would have to be the macro and encoding. I am sure that the range of applications will be boundless!
Well done with the results too! Your new desk looks good. How easy is it for you to adjust back into the sitting position?

Tomorrows plan is to grind and apply the lesson I worked on today.

ah, I thought I already answered here, but I guess I didn't press the submit button (happened a few times already to me :f_mad: )

As Metalmonkey said, the price range varies a lot. I bought mine in IKEA, but depending on the country you live in you can have lot of options. Here they have mechanical option and an automatic one that you plug in electricity. The cost is about 200€ for mechanical (less for just legs) or around 450-550€ for automatic one. There some options in US and Canada at least that I saw online that has an option to preset a few heights and then getting to that with a click of a button. That would be awesome!
I have a mechanical one because of the size and to test it out and it is still sweet, wouldn't be bad to get it up or down just by pressing the button though, so I am sure in the future I am going for that for sure.

Well done with the results too! Your new desk looks good. How easy is it for you to adjust back into the sitting position?

Thanks! The mechanical one has a handle you have to spin around to get it up or down. It is easy, it takes like 30 maybe 40 seconds of spinning to get it up or down fully. so not as easy as pressing a button and while I did while having action, it is usually better here to take a short pause! And yeah I am still not sure how milestone hand works and why everyone should go all in.

adamantine

1: made of or having the quality of adamant
2: rigidly firm : unyielding
3: resembling the diamond in hardness or luster

The last 5 days have been a bit bad off the tables due to a bug that I have caught. Winter seems to breed more weird and wonderful illnesses. Instead of my usual grind and learning I have been playing tournaments and participating in the Christmas Festival on Poker Stars. Overall I haven't done bad, although I have not cashed many tournaments or made a fantastic amount on the KO's I have enjoyed playing tournaments again.
Something I have thought about and will do later in 2016 is learn more about running deep in tournaments and make a big win like thazar this week. :f_thumbsup:

Thanks to gAsheks, Mystt and UPAY4DINNER for dropping by. :f_thumbsup:

New year 2014 I set some goals. 1. Give up smoking! Make poker a job
For next year I have started to define a list of new years resolutions. These include.
1. Get fit!
2. Become a better cook / chief
3. Learn a language. Am thinking Polish.
4. Make poker profitable and a business plan.
5. Start and finish a film script I have been thinking about for too many years!

I also want to seek out a desk that I have been dreaming off for some time now. I wanted to go for something a little different and knew this was the desk for me!

Not good for a optical mouse but I can work around that!
I also want to build on my camera kit next year by getting a black magic pocket camera and prime lenses.

I smoked occasionally, but last whole year i did regularly, and i wasnt happy with it, i do not smoke for a half year now. I did use tabex tablets for a week (where full course was supposed to be 30 days) and i managed to quit with my strong will! Hope you can achieve the same. It depends a lot from a preson. Good luck with it.

Hey, Matt, what's up?

Great blog you got here, looks cool with the art and stuff! Good luck with the challenges.

Saw your plans for the next year - are you sure you wanna become a better cook and get fit at the same time? :gl:

Seriously though - I've been trying to get fit recently as well, and if you don't mind - I'd like to share with you the home workout program I found that needs not much time (between 8 to 25 for one session) and requires no equipment at all, so it might be quite effective. I've uploaded it here and I made this sheet table for tracking progress here, it has all the exercises from the workout so you save some time punching in all those names - well, if you decide to give it a try of course :f_thumbsup:

I've also bumped into this show called "4th and Long" some years ago. It's about NFL so I'm not sure if you're interested in football. But even two of my non-football friends loved it and couldn't stop after the first episode - we had to stay up whole night and finish watching it. As for me - it's the most motivational thing I've ever seen in my life - haven't found anything even close to that. So if you'd like to take a look - it's here, I mean - you can always check out the first episode and leave it, but be careful :transpire:

Anyways, hope you find your way through and fulfil your plans! Have a good one!
Jay.

Hey metalmonkey! Nice ship it with the 72.

Nice looking glass table by the way. Ship iiiiiit in! =) Soon I wanna set up my grinding set up in the farm, as soon as I get internet there, but I'm more of a wood table guy, so I guess I'll make a wood table =D

Congrats on achieving last years goals, especially the stop smoking one, I've seen lots of friends trying and fail, although some succeed, so I see it's tough.

Soon I guess I'll set some goals for myself for next year. And BTW, thanks again for our blog, it inspired me to organise myself a little bit more.

Cheers mate!

Word of the Day
hidebound
Definition
1 : (of a domestic animal) having a dry skin lacking in pliancy and adhering closely to the underlying flesh
2 : having an inflexible or ultraconservative character

Example
The store failed when its hidebound owners refused to alter their business model to adjust for the changing economy.

With Christmas day getting closer and the holidays officially here I have taken some time out from grinding cash for tourneys. Also had a pre holidays bout of flu that has knocked me for six. Thankfully I am now feeling a lot better. Nothing worse than the gift that keeps giving!
My results for last week are:

And this week.

Overall not bad results.

Thanks also to DemonRax dropping by. Thanks for the video links. I saw something like this with exercise earlier in the year and didn't take much notice. But glad you pointed me to the videos and look forward to reporting on how I get on with the exercises. :f_thumbsup:
Hello caltabiano, Thank you for the kind words and I am glad I have been able to help you with organization. Your Farm sounds really exciting also and I look forward to seeing a virtual tour soon.

Over the next few weeks I shall try and update when I can. Also want to finish off some education for 6-max cash before the new year.

Glass tables are a b*tch to keep clean! I always loved the idea as well so when I moved to my own first apartement I got a dining table in glass and a couch table in glass.... Better not have any toddlers visiting :f_ugly: even without toddlers, it was very hard to keep nice and clean tbh :f_frown: In less than a year I sold both and got wooden ones instead :f_biggrin:

2016

Good bye 2015 and hello 2016!

Word of the Day
Procrastinate
The avoidance of doing a task which needs to be accomplished.

Over the last few weeks I have procrastinated enough with the holidays and now it is time to get back to work.
Christmas and new year was a welcome break as I have been working solid for quite some time now. It has been the longest break I have had from work since 2010!

Looking back at 2015 I feel my progress with poker has been very good. I have really seen a difference in my results since October 15. Although I am sad about moving from FR to 6-Max I am seeing how this has really helped me in other areas from tournaments to SnG and as Vonki previously mentioned FR too! Happy days.

My results since October (HM2 failure caused loss of earlier results)

Over the next few days I will catch up properly and explain my plans for 2016 in detail. Happy new year to all and good luck at the tables.

That video you posted cracks me up, its so funny, I used to be like him, I remember watching it over 12 months ago, while searching the web for answers to the question "Is online poker rigged?" I quit for about 6 months after watching that video lol.

My views have changed since then, I no longer think like him. Anyway I hope you achieve your poker goals good luck I will be following your progress.

Peace :f_thumbsup:

I think the real 'problem' is that you play alot more hands online then live. So the suckouts come faster. And the best thing is, you only remember those suckouts and not the 3 outers that you pulled. I love the way the human mind works :).

And also, great blog! Nice read.

January Blues
This is the funk that you enter when the holiday season is over. It starts on January 2nd and lasts at least until February 1st, sometimes until President's Day. It is an unpleasant time because the holiday season is over, spring is a ways off, the weather is cold and the only movies are lousy. - Urban Dictionary

Last month has been one of the toughest to deal with for me. Even the best laid plans have their Achilles heel! This is something I will need to consider in the future when it comes to my poker plans. During January I have had a lot of life issues to deal with and this has in turn really affected my poker during the month. I was hoping for a great start but now had to postpone this for February.

A lesson learn't is not to play when you have life issues distracting you. My A game became my Z game last month as demonstrated in the graph.

Looking back at my results I found amateur mistakes and many missed opportunities. But in turn a lesson I needed in order to change.
I have a lot of work to do this month in order to catch up. First and foremost for the rest of the week I will catch up with everyone who has posted on my blog.
caltabiano - Thank you for dropping by and the invite to join you in your sweat group. I will get back to you on this in the week.

Spazzaments - I agree with you and I am becoming better adjusted to everyday suckouts and bad beats. I can't wait to play my first live game. But I have a lot of work to do before I get to this stage. Good luck to you also in reaching your goals in the bankroll challenge. :f_thumbsup:

vonki - Good advise! I think I will avoid the glass table for now. Mahogany will look very nice instead!

SvenBe- procrastinate has definitely been the word of my month. I won't be a procrastinator any longer. :f_thumbsup:
