Final Table call off w. KQ

I would definitely not call even with 8.5bb on the BB with KQo vs a shove on the final table.

Each place is worth a lot and just by gaining the possibility to finish 7th or 6th is a big step in $

If he is really active, chances are he will get busted or bust someone else before you. So be patient

Considering your short stack, the fact that you are calling 119k to win 175k and that villian seems to have a wide range, I think a call is fine. Also being so short stacked I personally would probably not wait too long for an option to open shove, with the risk of not getting a hand to do so.

I would also add that his range is heavily moved towards PPs and higher or suited Ax
Either way you are mostly slightly behind, really behind and rarely ahead

It wasn't so much that he was active in the sense of being reckless or playing like a maniac, just seemed to pick his spots well and wasn't afraid to get it in.

Exactly what you said about his range ran through my head at the table. I thought it was most likely I was going to have 40 to 45% of the equity. I decided he would min raise AA and KK so that really only leaves, (based on my assumption of his range and if I counted correctly) 27 combos out of 169 he would open shove that have me crushed. I was in last place at the time with only 5 adjusted bigs and with the overlay from the blinds and antes I decided 40 to 45% was enough to go with especially because sometimes I might be crushing him (probably least likely outcome but still will happen some of the time I think). Everyone was playing tight too. There were a lot of all ins from stacks that were at the time of them shoving smaller than mine but no one called until someone woke up with aces. This weighed on my decision as well.

Maybe I should have picked a better spot or at least had KQ suited to make this call.
Now I know how that kid who busted first at the WSOP main event this year feels...
Ok maybe I didn't feel THAT bad
But at least he got a decent payout

I made some analisis.
If villain is shoving w 66+,A9s+,KJs+,ATo+,KJo+, u have 40.11% equity.
Removing AA-KK, the equity changes very little, 42.25%.

I think u can wait a bit and openshoves, having maybe 10% less equity when called + good FE, making things better overall.
