Hi itaba, I'm not a big specialist on that. The best free 3-max HUD I can recommend has been written by the Russian community Spin coach Moskvyak and is available here (scroll to the bottom of that post). He also has a HU HUD, but I'm not good at reading it :f_ugly:, maybe using CoffeeHUD for the HU phase is a better idea.

There are of course many commercial HUDs for Spins searchable on the Internet.

Oh dear, I've been so sleepy and missed half the day So I'm going to play up to $15 if the lobby is slow at night.

As a small report (x-post from 2+2)...

The first 180-man win came after 1.5 h / ~80 games, 2.5 h more passed before the 2nd one.

At that festive moment, I played in two HUs of $1 hyper 180s at once and shipped both; micro 180-man regs are not better HU than me with my decent Spin experience

I was able to get 17-22 hyper tables going throughout my grind (3-7 PM ET)

I met a few familiar (mostly from 2+2) mid-high stake sharks along the way, such as nkeyno (PS pro), playersvk, Common13 (a Russian comm. SnG coach), Krupsinator (a German comm. headadmin), Aguskb, SC4RF4CE, SuperJez, Ziemni0k. The promo was of such a big EV ($487.5) that nanostake 180s became everyone's game

The main problem with stacking so many tables was that I didn't have a big HUD for the stack size in bb's (had only added it into PT4's default HUD in small font) and was missing short stack (3-5 bb) shoving/calling spots grossly. Also, $8+ regs were administering 'non-all-in all-ins' relentlessly (like raising to 2.2 bb with 3 bb left in the stack, so that opponents didn't notice how short the raiser was). The move itself is not a big deal in the strategic sense, but having to look out for it does take a lot of focus away. I was having trouble keeping up with 22 concurrent tables already (had never played at more than 15 before; neither had I ever stacked them, though).

A funny thing was that, after finishing 11/11 in one of the left tourneys (I had a bit more than 1 bb there in the break), I went on to win the very last one, for a total of 4 first places.

What wasn't funny was that...

I only got a $100 reward

And I ended $183 up (incl. the $100 bonus) as a result of playing 207 $1 hypers and 9 $0.50 turbos, within 4 hours 35 minutes (excluding the 26 minutes spent on the first, software test hyper).

I'm dreaming about this kind of a promo (as well as milestone hands, Beat the Clock, SM ticket giveaways) becoming weekly, though of course they'll need to be less generous and possibly tougher in order to be sustainable.

(I know the next update is only due on Jan 4, but the Spanish community hasn't gone on holiday so I've had to crunch the numbers anyway.)

I was going to brag about a heater of decent proportions (3-figure) at the UK midnight, but decided to play a bit more and it almost evened out, lol at variance and the bad shape

Notably, I did finish 2nd for £60 in one of the two Coral Daily Mission freerolls that I got ticket to, so it's such easy money that I can eventually finish the challenge by inertia without the need to experience all that variance in thin edge $10-12 games*... but I really have nothing else to do with my money

* But I don't play them in vain - they serve the purpose of earning a free $200 casino bonus at PKR, and I'll obviously include all the withdrawable winnings (if any) arising from its clearance because, hey, it's free and it's given for having earned poker points.

The thing, though, is that maximising the casino EV doesn't equal maximising the chance of winning this particular challenge here and now, so that bonus money will be bust more often than not

No, it won't be as much +EV as expected because the server lag has become too severe in the past week. On Monday, I made a guest appearance in the home game on LemOn36's last coaching of the year, loaded two sets of 3 SnGs to go with it, and the lag was about a second on every action.

I think those were my last hands at Stars this year, unless some insane value grind promo like the 180-man one happens.

Heh, I was on such life tilt tonight that I didn't play for normal stakes, but there are over 3 hours left for the Straight Flush promo and I'm going to try to bink it (my losses / wins will count for the challenge, as well as the final prize, of course). I'll implement RSS (random stack strategy) in order to reduce my losses, i.e. buy in for 50 bb into NL2 Zoom, never top up, leave the table if the stack exceeds 80 bb, and of course be totally passive with hands that have a decent straight flush potential (while having a limp/reraising range too in case the population tends to isolate for 10 bb).

I wasn't able to maintain 8 tables of Zoom, kept 6 open, but I started running into buy-in obligations quite soon, though they were usually $1.02-1.08 and only one $1.75.

Sometimes my stack was down to a comfortable depth of 20 bb where I could make Sklansky-Chubukov openshoves with the strongest offsuit hands.

Anyway, I wasn't going to grind for more than 3 hours anyway; it was barely worth my time, I was playing rather in the recreational mood, to try out silly things and see what happens.

Apparently, NL2 isn't aggressive enough for having a balanced limping range (with AQ+, TT+ mixed in) to be profitable. If it were non-Zoom NL100 (like the mentioned jackpot tables), I'd have to defend my straightflush chasing range by adding strong offsuit (limp/reraise) hands to it, but the NL2 Zoom population likely weren't writing notes on me.

I ended up playing over 3K hands in less than 3 hours, losing at 12 EV bb/100 (-$11 overall / -$7 EV), of course not getting the prize, though I had quite a few one-outers on the flop/turn and once a two-outer on the turn, but I kept getting 'simple' straights and flushes and tilting over that like I'd never would in a normal ring game

Surprisingly, all my EV loss was in the ~1500 full ring Zoom hands; in 6-max, I was even slightly +EV.

I think I would have had to play 5K-6K hands on average to get the prize because I had to fold non-premium offsuit hands and so would have folded a lot of would-be one-hole-plus-four-board-card straight flushes.

Heh, I'm in the mood to play $30 Winterfest #10 and €30 Grand Sunday, but won't include them into the stats because of too high guarantees (they're an overkill for the challenge).

The challenge stats are to come later, I think I've crossed the $2K mark (better lucky than good).

(I didn't resist the temptation to add the T$11 won in an FPP satellite, though, as the FPPs were mostly earned in a few previous weeks.)

Edit: I've bust the bonus, obv (need to do a leakfinding session for Playtech's Tropic Reels slot; there was a close spot when I got a wild tiger, a green toad and some flower and wasn't sure whether to hold or discard the toad).

Edit 2: the first deposit bonus of the casino is clearable only on Marvel slots :f_mad:, so I'm actually not gonna take it. The personal $200 bonus was applicable to all slots, incl. multi-spin ones that are essentially not slots but relatively unexplored variants of video poker, with similarly thin house advantage.

Fresh fish's mini-brag of the week

On Sunday, PKR had a mission to play a $12 jackpot (as part of the '12 days of Christmas' promotion). As expected, it brought a few newbs to the jackpot tables.

What wasn't expected was that Elz442 (Eleanor Gudger), one of the two last PKR pros, who had just helped herself and poker gain mainstream popularity in the UK by an interview to The Sun, would hit the $12 jackpot tables on Sunday.

As a result, a few people including myself can now boast a positive score (in terms of both chips won and heads-ups won) against a celebrity with over £300K in lifetime poker winnings.

The 'PKR gender' doesn't need to match one's (:f_rolleyes: ->) passport gender. If you look at PKR forums or tables, you'll see that the proportion of 'girls' there is quite big Some players are even 'genderfluid' (like my closest forum 'sis' EXTREMUM, who is a girl 90% of the time and a guy the other 10%, admittedly a guy IRL). People have various reasons for crossdressing; mostly it's because we like to see ourselves fancier / funnier / prettier than IRL.

I'd hate to have my body modified dramatically (or I'm too lazy to do it). Nor do I make attempts to 'present' myself in a special way (it would be actually really hard). I'm really happy that I don't bleed monthly. But I'm uncomfortable with the fact that society regards my anatomic features as something that must define my behaviour. I want to act weak when I feel like it and strong at other times, and not be judged for it. The social construct of gender is nonsensical; we're all just humans.

Using male or female or neutral ('they') pronouns referring to me is equally fine. However, PKR forums are an exception - there, I'd like to be referred by female pronouns only and called 'flower' (or 'Laura' if you need a human name for my PKR avatar), the same way as PKR's client refers to me in chat messages (as in 'flower sips her cola'). I don't like my passport gender and real name to be mentioned there, even though the staff obviously knows them.

As for the Russian community, I don't hate its ordinary members, would converse more with them if not for my fear and avoidance of headadmin Rustem. Besides, 2+2 was my first (and, for a long time, only) poker forum, and I prefer to write in English because it doesn't require switching the language back and forth on the keyboard (which I tend to forget to do).

I'd play more but I'm totally out of shape, have made gross mistakes in today's set of freerolls (worth ~$50 equity).

My interpretion of the challenge rules is that it suffices to hit the target at any time during the week, not necessarily at the end of the week. So I only need to play more, catch a +$201 heater and file a premature report in the middle of the next week

The total number of tourneys was pretty low - 1741 overall (I know that because Spanish admins have been aggregating the #s since the start; I didn't include lotteries this time as played tourneys, but did include the profit from them*). Plus of course a lot of profit came from Coral's non-lottery Daily Mission freerolls. So, as far as actually Twister / jackpots, I ran only a bit above EV there (well, not a bit, considering how low my EV is when mass multitabling ).

That said, the end of the challenge was rather tragic because, in its last session, I bricked a 250x $6 jackpot SnG at PKR :f_cry::f_cry::f_cry: (got only $150 for the second place instead of $1250 for the first).

I played its final hand rather questionably than not, imo. Usually, when an unknown player makes a 3x open in a JP SnG, it's an indicator of immense strength, especially if he has a limping range too like that opponent did, and also, he was minraising his buttons in 3-max. And in general, he had shown a smallball approach earlier in the tourney (see the next hand). But the fact that he had 3x'ed two buttons before made me think that his range for 3x'ing was quite wide, and I actually had some fold equity.

The hand where I lost most of my chips is written below. Maybe I took too much risk, especially by minraising pre and not limping, but people are generally tight in high multiplier tourneys, and that opponent (the same as above) had indeed shown some TAGginess, so I decided to rely on fold equity (both preflop and on the flop). My postflop decisions were rather marginal, would have been clear folds had the opponent sized the bets any bigger.

Once he raised the flop, he surely did have something big, but his sizings were too small, and also I thought he'd jam the entire stack in by the river. So I thought I had enough implied odds (1-to-10.3: 60 chips to call to potentially win the pot of 120, my bet of 60 plus his entire stack which was 440 coming onto the flop) to chase the well-hidden gutshot (4 outs out of ~<=47 cards) given that one of my outs was rarer in his range than in a randomly dealt hand.

On the turn, I almost had the direct odds to call with the OESD + implied odds if the 6 had come, so was investing 120 chips to win the pot of 360 + his bet of 120 + approximately half of his remaining stack (200/2=100), i.e. 1-to-5.8 implied odds, with ~8 outs out of ~<=46 cards.

There could be some possibility of him checking the turn (being on a bluff still beating me), but that was also OK, as my BDFD would have been helpful then (though I wouldn't have gained a lot if a diamond had come - the decision between check/raising to an all-in over a tiny bet and calling it would have been marginal; alas it would have been a fold to a turn all-in).

Most importantly, that high multiplier came, as always, when I was steaming as a result of the prior course of the session, and I had 3 tables going parallellly, where I decided not to sit out (but start playing push/fold) this time because I had read that Koovoon had done so when shipping his Spin&Go million.

Plus, I know that I tend to be too loose-passive in high multiplier tourneys. I don't know the reason for that mental game leak yet, but it's terrible.

That said, bricking high multipliers all the time doesn't affect the longterm ROI that much because they're so rare. Most of the profit in the format comes from playing 4x-10x tourneys consistently well. So it's all good.

After that tourney, as I had experienced a 15-20 BI downswing earlier in the session and also had bubbled Coral's £200 Daily Mission freeroll in the previous one, I needed to earn a bit more money to finish the challenge, but luck was on my side and I shipped $24 and $36 (4x-6x) in my last two tourneys. That was 8 minutes to British midnight on Saturday, Jan 16.

I didn't enterprise playing higher than $6 this time (except the very start of the session) because the $12s have become way too reg-infested to my taste, even on holidays.

For the record, though I had excluded the Stars games (basically, 1-3 a day to earn SPs) from the challenge since mid-December, but it turns out that I've also made a bit of profit (~$25) in $7 (and a bit of $3) Spins due to shipping a 6x on Friday.

Thanks for reading the thread, for being lazy and making it too long (my life expenses are so small that I've been able to compensate for them by the grind nevertheless).
