10Zoom FR - a rare hero river bluff

Nice, but raise a bit bigger if you decide to bluff. He is getting 4:1 here and will call according to that, not according to GTO that dictates that he should call much less. (Of course, the same problem prevails whatever you raise. But 4:1 is a little too juicy.)

Raise to 27-30bb would be better imo.

True enough. I am a river nit and have essentially no river bluffs in my standard play.

I don't think you need raise bluffs at all at NL10 versus the typical population, precisely for the reason that people just see the pot odds and will call too much. You exploit them by not bluffing.

Like it, agree the raise should be bigger though.

If you had Any A♥::heart: flush combo, you should be barreling that on the turn, right? Because you will have outs to your flush + overcard. Also you should be barreling any K♥::heart: and Q♥::heart: combo on the turn since now you have a pair + flush draw+draw to two pairs/trips.

Then you have your J♥:T♥: which is also barreling on the turn since now it has become straight draw+flush draw. (other JX combos are already mentioned above (AJ KJ QJ)

In my eyes you are not really repping any flush on the river since all of the possible flush draws are really strong on the turn and should be barreling the turn.
Also any pair hand is betting on the turn to get money from draws.

So you really don't have anything on the river that you could represent on this board because you checked the turn. -> I don't like this bluff even if you have the A♥: blocker.

This bluff would be a lot better if the turn would not be Qx. If the turn would be something like 2♦: or 3♠: then your river bluff would be more believable since you could be checking back some of your flush draws on the turn (like Q♥:J♥: could check the turn back if the turn would be a 2♦: or a 3♠: since you now just have flushdraw with 2 under cards.)

Also when you raise as a bluff on the river, make it like 30-35bb so you are not getting called always by Kx that is checking if you are bluffing.

I also like this river bluff if the turn would not be a high card because villains range is wide on the river and he can have a lot of weak hands(Qx,JJ, etc) that he will fold to a raise.

So to sum my thoughts up; OK idea but not a great board to do this.

I'm not quite sure what to do OTR. I think he could easily have a flush or a straight. His bet size doesn't look so bluffy, more like a thin value bet to get calls. I think folding is not bad, raising is fine also. If we raise it should be a bit bigger though.

Actually marsa is right there, would you not be barrelling most flush draws?

I think that our story is inconsistent. Why do you x turn? Even a bigger raise on river will get called.

I don't always two barrel draws. Mostly only if I develop the draw from a backdoor.

I do often put in smaller river raises in order to get paid and was staying consistent.

I was thinking it was a nice play, and making sense. But the post marsa just did changed my mind... Most of ur flushes are betting this turn for the reasons he mentioned. And since u did 3bet, they are more likely the bigger ones (that fit w this turn).
