5% rake is quite normal, online they have normally a rakecap at 2$-5$ depending on the pokerroom. Its rather high but not unusual. If its 6handed and there are really 6 ppl playing stars and Fulltilt would take 3$ for example (With three both would take 1$ i think).
Always think of what the rake pays: advertisement for new fishes, support,advertisement for new fishes, servers and advertisement for new fishes
