In terms of theory concepts, they will be the same regardless of which format we are playing. But keep in mind that our preflop ranges might be different which will have an effect on postflop play.

Anyway, truth is that we don't really want to be playing a balanced strategy in most instances. So while it's good to understand some of the GTO concepts that are discussed, our main focus should be looking for the mistakes our opponents are making and how to exploit these.

Ok, just a heads up on Academy coaching tonight. You possibly saw that the title is "poker players toolbox". We are basically going to be considering all of those smaller topics that we can't use an entire coaching for. I will be answering any questions also, including those posted in the thread.

So post any questions here. Zolotar, I will review your post during the session if you can make it. As usual I will give out points for good questions and good answers. Free coaching session to the next guy to reach academy rank 3. (The current roster is posted a few posts back).

Ok, so here are the topics for the toolbox. This will probably take 2 Academy coachings, this week and next week. Maybe even more, depends on how quickly we progress and how many questions there are.

Hey there, I got question about the 'Walkthrough' series. It seems there is discrepancy between cold calling ranges you give in the video named "Prepare for takeoff" and 3bet ranges you give in video named "You raise, I 3-bet". Mostly this has something to do with hands like AQs and JJ. So how exactly your preflop default ranges set up ?

Also it seems we are folding 98s hand on BB vs. CO. Is it on purpose ? If not should we be more likely cold calling or 3beting this on default ?

Similar story regarding SB vs BTN ranges. Based on those two vids it should be fold for 66.

Another discrepancy goes for BB vs BTN ranges. Hands like 22, 67s, J7s, T7s, 97s and TT are both in cold call and 3bet ranges.

Hey, the complete ranges should be at the beginning of the walkthrough thread. They were adjusted somewhat as the series went on.

Actually, the best thing to do is to download the preflopuserdefined.ini and import it straight into equilab.

Another couple of things - some hands intentionally appear in more than one range as part of a mix strategy.
Other thing is that the ranges are probably 3 years old now. They are still pretty decent, especially for beginners, but I use a stronger set of ranges with my students.

Here: exploitatively I wanna bet all strong hands OTR, since I don't expect 100nl reg to valuebet thin; but I also don't expect him to bluff that much. Does this mean we have to bet/fold almost everything (including this hand) and check/fold almost everything as well?

Here: do I understand correctly Q is actually quite bad card for me? Since his KT got there, and he has less QT or Q8 etc? Can we still call this sizing?

Previously I called down this opp kind of light (vs large sizing as well), and he showed bluff. He seems to be rather decent player, so I expect him to bluff less in this spot.

Obv playing vs a weaker player; is river too thin?

Not sure exactly what you searched for. Anyway, all of the academy pre-recorded coachings are new. There are some academy regular training videos also. Plus there is also a brand new series out there called poker in practice. Just search for "w34z3l". But keep in mind that some are gold status +.

i really like your content very much and they way you explain stuff really helped me to improve my game a lot. specifically focusing on exploitive play on low limit games but still always referring a bit to what balanced strategy would be made me understand theory better + also kept me away from "mindf*****)" myself what i reeally did a lot. one topic i would be especiall interessted in would be how to play OOP when you have a valuehand on the flop like overpair or TPTK .... and turn or/and river cards come bad for the hand . maybe others would be also interessted in this and you could incorporate this topic in your academy.
