I win small and often and then I lose big.

This!
I have it too. + in my sessions almost every time I have to "fight" for the winnings for loads of hands but losses will come in a short time.
Sometimes its bad luck, ie. fishes run hot and sometimes I totally spew it. Trying to fight against it and get rid of it.

I were wondering if it is lack of concentration or bad luck.. Maybe it is both :f_biggrin:

More weighted towards bad concentration in my case ;)

Might be the same here :f_drink:
Or then it is 50-50 :)

Quiet week last week.. Poker wise at least. I didn't play a single hand, which is quite surprising. This is my first week in the past 6 months that I do not play a single hand of poker. It is mainly because I have been studying a lot (school stuff).

Week 28
Hands 0
Profit 0
Bankroll $311.47

Week 29
Hands 550
Profit +$8.16
Bankroll $319.63

Again I had a slow week. I have to study and do so much other stuff that I don't have much time to play :(
School is over in 1 month and I'll start working. I don'k now how it will affect my poker. Maybe I even find some more time to play, or maybe I don't have time to play at all :f_rolleyes: We will see.. I have a couple of exams coming up and I have to pass those so my volume might be a bit low on the following couple of weeks.

Steadily going up :f_thumbsup: Now my bankroll would basically allow me to take a shot at NL10 but I'm gonna play NL5 just a bit more to make sure I'm playing ok. I have not played 45k hands NL5 with winrate of 2,03bb/100. I'm going to play to 60k hands and if my winrate is over 3bb/100 I'm going up.

I have been doing ok lately. Graph for last 15k hands :f_thumbsup:

I show you only 15k hands because if it was 20k you would see a 5k downswing :sifflote:

I feel indestructiable :f_cool:

This week I have played only 700 hands but I'm rocking a 90bb/100h winrate. Let's see how I end this week :)

I also took a quick look at my overall stats and they look ok. I have improved my SB winrate but for some reason my BTN wr has decreased.. Maybe it is because I have still quite small sample so it is not reliable yet. I think I have improved my river call efficiency and I'm playing a bit better than couple of months ago. I should soon take a stab at NL10 but I guess I'm a bit afraid :f_rolleyes:

My first deposit bonus at 888 is going to end in one month and I don't know what I do after that.. Rakeback at 888 is not that great but the tables are very fishy and I like it. I want to have decent traffic.. Even at iPoker I have to wait a long time to open even 3 tables.. So if I'm going to switch room I think pokerstars is my only option? I have to think about that.

what about microgaming or wpn network?

I believe those networks are even smaller than iPoker? I have an account at 24hpoker and if I remember correctly the traffic there wasn't good.

When I start playing I want 3 or 4 tables up and running very fast.. So there is a problem :/

Hey! Nice to see you are moderator :f_thumbsup:
Are you playing NL10 now? I think variance there is going to happen a lot more than NL2 and NL5, isn't it?

Thanks Hesticus :f_thumbsup:

Yes indeed I am playing NL10 now, but I play NL5 too. I dug a 10 buy-in hole in my bankroll in 3k hands and now I'm a bit lost :f_biggrin:
My plan was to take a 3 buy-in shot but ...
Now my bankroll barely allows me to continue playing so I'm mixing 2 tables of NL5 and 1 table of NL10 at the moment and trying to make it work. I have faced some nasty situations where villain rivered a set or flopped a straight against my overpair etc... I hope I can turn my luck around and get that lost money back :f_rolleyes:

I see from your blog that you have read TMGP2. Have you found it helpful? Maybe I should read it again myself now :f_biggrin:

Hey man,

Can imagine, it must be awfully nasty there up at the NL10 tables :challenge:

Yes, TMGP1&2 really helped me. It makes you really think about yourself and your judgement about kind of everything, not only poker :) I would advice everyone to read. One of the things I discovered is that I like to read self-improvement books. Most people here do so that is a good thing. I noticed in my neighbourhood, most people don't like these kind of books and say often it is nonsense and I was often assuming those people were right and I now understand why I never really read books. Other books just weren't as interesting as self-improvement books for me.
TMGP In terms of poker, I believe the more you know yourself, the more you can reflect upon yourself with poker and the more you learn from your mistakes.

Hope this answer helps a bit :f_biggrin:

Cheers,
Hesticus:f_drink:

Yes, I have read TMPG2 also. Back then I was suffering from nasty mental leaks and I really believe that reading the book has helped. Now I have noticed that it is sometimes too difficult to click the fold button so maybe I should read it again
Good luck with your challenge :f_drink:

Hi la55i,

Great blog and looking forward to reading future updates.

I don't understand what is it with weekends.. Is there a lot of drunk fish playing with no logic and it makes me lose or what? I lost a lot of money last weekend.

I totally agree. The weekend is like a mine field. But with that in mind I took a lower variance route to cut down on the amount I lost.

Good luck at the tables.

Regards

Matt

This was still a losing week but my NL10 went up a bit. Hopefully this week will be better and I will get some money back :f_thumbsup:
