BTN: 202 BB (VPIP: 34.62, PFR: 27.88, 3Bet Preflop: 13.70, Hands: 216)

Hero (BB): 100 BB
UTG: 100 BB (VPIP: 24.44, PFR: 17.78, 3Bet Preflop: 12.50, Hands: 46)
MP: 101.9 BB (VPIP: 25.81, PFR: 14.52, 3Bet Preflop: 4.17, Hands: 63)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q♣ T♠

fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to 2.5 BB, fold, Hero calls 1.5 BB

Flop: (5.5 BB, 2 players) 8♣ T♦ J♣
Hero checks, BTN checks

Turn: (5.5 BB, 2 players) 8♠
Hero checks, BTN bets 5.5 BB, Hero calls 5.5 BB

River: (16.5 BB, 2 players) 5♥
Hero checks, BTN bets 10 BB, fold

Table was new, Villain therefore rather unknown, but reggish.

I wasn't sure what to make out of his line, looks a lot like 8x by choosing to checkback and pot the turn and bet the river. How do you usually handle these kinds of spots? Do you ever give Villain any bluffs, or would you always fold 2nd pair in this spot?

The problem with QTo is it's easily dominated. Thus, you might ended up paying off with top or middle pair, I prefer 3betting. It's always easier to play out with sd or middle pair having initiative.

Villains usually raise Q2s+ too, therefore I disagree.

But my interest doesn't lay in the preflop play, but how to handle this spot postflop.

This hand is better to be called pre flop imo. We play it to hit the flop. I think this one is well played. Maybe we can think about foldint OTT, as villain bets full pot, but I think we can call there.

My standard line would be to stab him OTT when he doesn't bet OTF.
Now that this hand is played like this villain can either stab you with air when you check twice or then he is trapping you with strong hand. You have mid pair and gutshot and villain bets pot so I guess you could just let this one go.

Betting on the turn is a must.

If villain had a strong hand on the draw heavy flop he would have cbeted for value and protection. Same if he had a strong draw or 9x.

Either the 8 on the turn improves him, he has a pure bluff or made a terrible mistake to slowplay a flopped monster (straight). I would fold this on the river.

Preflop defend is standard. Turn could be a bet, could be x/c - both are OK imo. River is a call imo. He probably is checking back his Tx and weak Jx. Strong Jx are betting flop. So he is left with 8x and missed draws - FD, A9, K9.

The turn bet is suspicious. I think you are behind so no bluffcatching.
Either raise or fold.

Yeah the flop pot control and turn potbet smells alot like an 8. Probably a strong T also since he figures you cannot have a Jack when you check twice.
Good fold OTR!

What are his wwsf,w$sd, AF (f,t,r), AFr (f,t,r), CBF,CBT,CBR?
To me this is agro loose guy and vs our double X I think we could bluffcatch, especially if villain has high wwsf and low w$sd and high AFR.

I give always villain bluffs. But this is an easy fold on the river. You'll have plenty of shit like J9s/QJ to call down with all the way. The real question is whether the turn call of a pot bet is right.

I think an 8 is very likely considering the flop play. Not a hole lot of draws he could have here as he would probably bet the flop. He could have just decided to play a J in a weird way. On the other hand he could have decided to give up on the flop with complete air but seeing as you decided to just check again OTT he could go for a delayed cbet planning to barrel any river. Don't know if I would be in this spot as I would most likely bet turn myself.
