Bet flop to protect vs flushdraws. On this flop I want to get it in asap as they will be stacking off with AT with the A of hearts and maybe even alot worse.

And what would you think of shove preflop?

I would make it bigger preflop instead of just clicking it back. JJ is good, but a hand where you can get in sticky situations with overcards, so I would go for much more value pre. Postflop I would bet to protect and for value aswell.

Right, didn't notice the sizing preflop, it's quite terrible. He calls you anytwo there.

@Kingklaas: you could shove pre for balance but in these kind of tournaments, not much balance needed and I think JJ is too strong to just shove 31bb.

Shoving is too much for sure. I would 3bet to like 20k or so and Cbet most flops.
As played you can’t too much than checking it down on a wet board with 4 harts on this board.

Def raise bigger pre, I'd go at least 2.5X so around 22k as JJ is vunerable to overcards and plus he might not believe your 3bet BvB and call wide anyway
OTF cbet to get value from Tx, mid PP and 1:heart: hands
OTT just check it down now

20k, so 1.5 SPR and and over cards have a good chance to hit on the flop? Awkward.

Shove pre.

Shove pre.

With around 23BB effective I can understand a shove with smaller PP, but with JJ I think you should be looking to get some more value with a smaller raise, seems a waste to shove JJ BvB

Why should we shove smaller pp with around 23 BB effective?

Personally I would 3bet my big hands here & play a pot IP and shove my weaker made hands like small PPs for maximum Fold Equity and pick up the pot right now

So you always shove small pp like 22-88 from the blinds to offset the positional disadvantage?
What about ace-high cards like AT,AJ,AQ? or even king-high cards?
Do you push them as well from the blinds?

I 3bet from every position wth AQ+ and JJ+.
What do you think about that?

As its BvB and youre in the BB you will always be IP so i dont mind playing a pot IP with a good hand, but small PPs dont play too well post flop so I would just shove them and be happy to win the pot. Yes you have position which is great but what do you do with 88 if the board comes 2 overs which it will a lot of the time

I do shove pretty wide from the BB in BvB situations, I shove most Ax hands in this spot. I probably shove too wide for correct play and I may be missing value, but I just hate it when you 3bet & miss the flop, cbet & get called & end up folding and losing a decent amount of chips when a shove pre probably would have won me a decent sized pot. But that may well be that my post flop game isnt good enough, in fact I'm going to make myself 3bet instead of shoving in spots like this in future to try and improve my post flop play

3betting AQ & JJ from any position can be tricky, particularly if the original open is from EP.
I dont have hard and fast rules about 3betting as you need to take into account the openers position, is he loose or tight & also the people behind you, is there a maniac behind you who will raise if you just call and you can trap?

So you recommend shoving everytime on such flops?
It is pretty difficult for me to play on such flops.
When my opponent is OOP and shoves before and I have toppair or overpair I dont really know what to do.
Do they have the flush already or not...

I think he means, bet the flop and be prepared to go all in if they raise or shove and like he says they often will have just top pair or a pair & FD

At the micros you can treat an overpair as an absolute monster as people rarely fold top pair even with a weak to average kicker
