@metalmonkey80 - Thanks for spending so much time on my blog! _biggrin:

@srna10 - Thanks! I saw you to! _drink:

I want to make a short update on my poker career, life and goals.

Poker: After I stopped writing in my blog, because I could not log on to Pokerstrategy due to new law in my country, poker didn't go that well for me. I made money, but not as much as I wanted. Another reason was that I had to focus on finishing the University and I stopped playing for almost 2 and a half months. My bankroll went down to the lowest point of 155$! I was struggling financially and knew I need to do something, so I made a plan at the beginning of October. Here I am now, with almost 1150$ bankroll.
What I used to succeed and get back on track was:

:club: Plan every day
:club: Start the day with reviewing hands
:club: Warm-up before every session(mindfulness)
:club: Review my sessions(how well I focused?, how good was my mindset?, tilt?)
:club: I started watching Pokerstrategy videos daily + tanking notes
:club: At the end of the day, I always wrote down what went well and what went wrong, mistakes and solutions

Life: I am grateful for being healthy. It's been almost two years since my last chemo. I finished University, succeeded my last. Now I am reading a lot daily, meditating, training almost every day and dancing in the weekends _thumbsup:

Goals:
:diamond: Get my Bankroll up to 5000$
:diamond: Continue improving, move up to NL200
:diamond: Write my own book about poker, mindfulness, mindset, motivation
:diamond: Live healthy, exercise, rest enough, read every day

If I continue doing what I did starting from October I am going to crush it! _biggrin:

@SvenBe - Ty! You are right, I'm over-complicating things :))

Just a short update: my BR is almost 1350$ now. I am starting to add 1-2 NL50 tables to my sessions. My plan is to crush NL50 in December. _thumbsup:

Overall the best thing I added to my poker sessions is the warm-up. I advice everyone to take 2-5 minutes before sitting down to play and do some mindfulness exercises. It's very easy to do them and you can get in a good mindset in very short time. Since I've been doing them, in almost every session I'm playing my A-game, I'm not tilting on not reacting in any way to a bad beat or loss and I'm able to focus for a longer time. It also helps me to observe much faster if my mind is distracted and to get my focus back to the game.

One simple exercise that you can do is mindful breathing. This can be done sitting, lying down or in any comfortable position. You have to simply identify the in-breath as in-breath and the out-breath as out-breath. The length of your breath can be natural, it can be three, four or five seconds, you don’t need to force it.
So the object of your mindfulness is your breath, and you just have to focus you attention on it. Breathing in, this is my in-breath, breathing out, this is my out-breath. Your goal is to stop thinking, to stop the mental discourse. When you do that, you stop thinking about the past, the future or your problems and worries, because your are mindful and in the present moment.
Do these exercise for a couple of minutes, during these time you will find that your thoughts wandered. This is completely normal, just observe your thoughts, let them go and gently bring your attention back to your breathing.

Also you can find guided mindfulness meditations on Youtube. Try it and see for yourself! _thumbsup:

Very short update: My bankroll is growing really fast _cool: It's over 1500$ now!

For the first time, since I registered to Pokerstrategy.com, I have Platinum status. I'm really motivated to improve and watch all the new videos, that I have access to. _p:

I would like to post my graphs since I started writing in the blog again, but I can't upload them, I don't know why. _confused: I hope I'll figure it out until next weak.

Merry Christmas to everybody! _drink:

When I saw in Pokerstrategy's news the "What can Santa do for you?" thread, the first thing that pop up in my mind was health. My wish to Santa is to be healthy, because having good health leads to productive and rewarding life, filled with joy and happiness, family and friends, many meaningful life experiences and achievements. _biggrin:
Tomorrow I'm going to the cancer follow-up scan, and on December 22th it's going to be 2 years since I finished chemo and there is no evidence of disease in my body _biggrin:. Although I'm scared, I'm feeling optimistic and confident that everything is okay. _cool:

Poker was great in December, my bankroll is up to almost 2300$. The platinum videos are great, thanks to those, my game is getting better and better daily. In my next post I'm going to review 2016 and make the plan for 2017, this time setting scary goals. _thumbsup:

If your dreams don't scare you, they are not big enough!

Thanks guys! _drink:

Almost one month passed and I haven't wrote anything. As a short update on my poker progress, January was a successful month, I'm up 900$. The only goal I failed was the volume goal(81/110 hours). And another problem was that I neglected mindfulness. I want to make sure that in February I won't fail my volume goal again.

The biggest success this month was realizing how important habits are. So I decided to start focusing on building good habits one by one. I believe that strong habits are the key to success. The first one, which is also my biggest obstacle is waking up late. I decided to make a Wake Up Challenge, this means I have to wake up when my alarm clock goes off, without hitting the snooze button. Tomorrow is my 21th day! The challenge will last until April 1 and the reward is a new phone! I feel really good about this challenge and I am also very grateful for starting it. Waking up at 1-2 PM and hitting the snooze button 20 times was a terrible and unhealthy habit. Now I wake up between 9 and 10 AM! With strong will power and discipline by April I am going to make a habit from this. One average it takes 66 days to build a new habit, this is why I am focusing on this for such a long time.

Now, after I wake up I read, drink a lemonade, listen to some music, take my vitamins and eat breakfast. I call this the "Golden Hour", I set the day up for success. _cool:

February Goals: _biggrin:

:diamond: Play 100 hours!
:diamond: Play NL50 daily
:diamond: Review everything
:diamond: Plan every day
:diamond: Do the Wake Up Challenge!
:diamond: Mindfulness before sessions
:diamond: Watch videos + take notes daily
:diamond: Rest enough/ Train/ Eat healthy/ Stay healthy
:diamond: Read 2 books
:diamond: 1000$ Profit!

- put the alarm clock on the other side of the room
- get a dog, he will want to go out regularly... (bad news for the weekend, when you want to sleep long...)

I always did that with the alarm clock, but when I wasn't doing the challenge, I usually woke up, stopped the alarm and went directly back to sleep, making up lots of excuses _mad:

I'm in The Blog Job, and my goals are:

:spade: 100 hours = 50.000 Hands
:spade: 8BB/100 winrate
:spade: Stakes: NL16-NL50

I started terribly, but still enough time to make it a good month!

@KidandChamp - It happened every night =)) for years.

The Blog Job update: 34/100 hours played February (15-16k hands)
Winrate: Negative(-5bb/100)

I made lots of mistakes and bad plays this month and my mindset wasn't the best either. But I know, I still have enough time to get back on track and crush it in February!

New Goal: _cool:
:club: Move to Spain!

I am planning to move to Toledo for at least 2 months and live at KidandChamp's place, in April. To play poker and have fun _biggrin:
