I’m no PLO player, but I wouldn’t recommend taking shots on PLO50 when you are used to play on PLO5 and PLO10. I expect the players will be a lot better in general on PLO50.

In this situation you are playing against a fish, but I don’t think it’s profitable to shove the turn with a 1 pair hand.

Cheers,

I dont think you should be taking shots 2-3 levels above your normal limit, especially if you have to shortstack for it. Variance must be huge.

As for the hand, I think you overrated weak overpair with poor chances to improve. The flop is such, that there is only one straightdraw with 56 and everything else thats calling were behind and hopefully drawing alive with our two pair outs.

Yeah, I agree to both of you. Taking shots that high above my regular limits is a huge variance. I tried to fiend as friendly table as I could, and I saw this villain playing some really bad spots. I guess even the fishes on PLO25 and PLO50 are good (atleast some of them).

Thanks for your time reading this and replying. Really appriciate your opinion.

For both of these PLO50 hands I would say that don't make it a habit to shortstack with 40bb. At small stakes, your biggest edge comes from knowing when to play a big pot and when not to. So your edge versus worse players is better with 100bb than with 40bb. If you want to take shots, go and play PLO25 with 100bb stacks. It's only $5 more than what you are risking at PLO50 there.

Due the rake I don't think it's possible to make profit with short stacking at small stakes. The playing is easy, as most of the time at postflop you have the odds. So the most important aspect is preflop ranges. And even then it's hard to get an edge that beats the rake.

Think it in this way: with 100bb stacks it's relatively hard to make profit. Now with 40bb stacks you win/lose the same amount of small pots but can't win big pots when you outhit someone. And no one will make big bluffs versus you. So you limit your chance to win big pots, which makes your winrate a lot less.

In that hand what every you do you loose your money
Lets say (,you cant check at the turn) that you put 4$at turn and at the river opponent goes all in
You will make a crying call
i think at the turn because flop and turn cards are not So dangeraus you can sove
The only way not to sove is to know and believe that with these cards till turn and with that river card you can pass at turn or river if opponent at any time goes all in
Of course at omaha 1 top pair and badkicker is nothing but at that hand seems that you are nothing plus
