I would shove for a 10bb stack also from the BTN. It’s unlucky you get called by better this time.

HERO (stack:524k) – open 2,2 BB with AK– one player (BU) (stack:511k) reraised to 96k.
I made a re-reraise-shove and were called by QQ and busted. In retrospect I would called, but I shoved because I thought in my 15sec timebank, that I would get there for example JJ folding and had the big chance to win this tournament through a possible winning flip (if he doesnt fold) :/…
What do you think about this spot? Classic overplay? Thanks a lot!

Off course I don’t know how deep the rest of the players are playing, but I don’t think it’s bad to stack of with AK for 32bb effective against an unknown.

AK v QQ comes up a lot, to win a tournament you will face this and you will need to be on the winning side more often, but thats just luck.
As played it think its fine.

Results:

3betting seems optimistic with J9s. I would normal call or fold against the big stack or he folds a lot on 3bets. I think a 3bet between 3x and 4x is more as enough as well.

As played I would most likely check the turn, because you have still some outs for a flush and I don’t think he will fold too often on a blank turn like this.

I would fold pre flop. If 3 betting 3x his bet is fine out of position, 2.75x in position, so in this case 1800 would have been enough to make the hands you want to fold, fold and the hands that will call will call, and you find this out cheaper.

Flop bet is fine but it does make it obvious you are going for a flush, so may have been best to shove.

Overall since you 3 bet so big, you easly get committed to the pot with a holding you dont want to be comitted with. Thats the lesson to take away from this hand. Make sure you arent getting commited with weak holdings

I don’t think a shove is to bad here, but it’s suspicious he isn’t shoving right away with his 16bb stack. Without reads I would make a tight fold, but if you have seen him raise/folding before a shove is legit.

Just have to win those flips to win tournaments and we cant run away from these situations!
