My laptop doesn't really like it tho, it's quite laggy to play now. I'll probably have to decide to buy a huge ass desktop pc, already have 2 24" screens so that would save alot of costs. Bought this laptop last january for ~450eu, so for poker it's rather shit. It did print alot of money in asia. Just look at the wallet picture in a previous post. :f_grin:

Yeahh I am taking my 24" with me all the time, fits in check-in luggage easily. Right in the middle of the suitcase so it is surrounded by clothes and towel. Screen went on plenty of flights already and no damage, still as new :) Yeah, its good to check for i7 7700hq processors laptop- the 4cores one and HT practically as fast as desktop (or the new 8th generation ones the same). And I also want to plug 2 screens in and I just ordered USB-HDMI dongle, which will make it possible. No compromise for work :)

Ah, a suitcase makes sense, I was traveling with a backpack. :f_biggrin:

I'll definitely check for laptops aswell, i'm still in doubt if i want to travel more so. If i would travel, a laptop would be the logical step. Otherwise i'm getting more bang for my bucks with a desktop.

Well my 24" did do me some good the last few days. I almost had Back2Back2Back 1k days since using it again. First 2 days were round about 1k profit. Today after my first session everything looked like i was going the same way again, was around ~400up in an hour. But the last session almost everything went bad , can't run like god forever. Eventually quit the day with ~100down.

Can't complain, believe this is my best month, eventough i've traveled across the world.

Updaterino's

Haven't played poker over the weekend but have something else to update about. I've just broken up with my GF of 3,5yrs over the weekend. I was already serious in doubt about our future together before i went to asia for half a year. The last 5 months I was abroad showed me alot more what my interests were and how much they differentiated compared to hers. Also how she would probably cap my possibilities and I should be happy with a standard 9-5 job. Something 'Ladyboyrapeme' can agree upon as he's the guy i've been living with the last few months.

So i'm still in doubt about what my future holds. I went to Asia right after i graduated at the start of this year to see if playing as fulltime poker player was an option for me. I've always used Poker as a parttime job besides my college studies, as Poker isn't really a 'socially accepted job', and people keep saying 'you do need that paper'. But now that i've played a couple of months 'fulltime'(not really because i only hit 140hr+ 1time lol) and have seen the possibilities this great game can give moneywise.
Also the fact that i can live abroad with ALOT smaller living costs etc is a big consideration for me to keep pursueing this dream. For example: When we lived together(me&ladyboy) in Vietnam we had a quite luxurious apartment, which mystt also has seen so he can agree, for <300eu each. If i want something comparable here back home i'm EASILY paying 1k ON MY OWN. And that doesn't even include the bi-weekly clean-up guy we had. :f_ugly: And that's only the rent i'm talking about. If i'm going to include food/clothing and all other monthly expenses the difference is only growing. So the possible money i could save abroad would really add up over time(The compound effect by Darren Hardy for a great read about this).

So these ideas are still kind of fresh as i'm only single for 24hrs and nothing is really holding me back now. But i'd really like to hear some opinions about this from you guys here. Also those lurkers that normally don't post, i won't bite.

Go to Skyscanner, find a cheap flight.
Go to Amsterdam airport, enter the plane.

See you soon. :f_thumbsup:

Really tilting sessions today. Software kept crashing or disconnecting. Easily cost me more than 100euro today. Upgrading my laptop to lower the times this happens is a big consideration. :f_ugly:

It's up to you to decide but if the only thing that keeps you from following your dream is the fact that people don't consider it a real job or a real lifestyle then I'd say learn to deal with people not knowing what they are talking about and there it goes ;)

People also have no clue about the hourly that is possible with poker and its only growing as i move up stakes. I also don't need to share this with people that don't play poker as I wouldn't ask them either: "what do you make a month?". Strangely people do find it 'normal' to ask a pokerplayer what they earn with the game.

My mental game has tremendously increased the last few months. In my first sessions today i mainly played NL100 and a bit 50. Casually won about 650eu in a few hours, which is nice. Couldn't play any 200 as there weren't any good games running. But when i started my last session i only had 200 games running. I don't play NL200 that often on its own as it's my highest stake still. So the swings can be quite brutal moneywise, in a positive, but also a negative way.
Last week it mainly went in the positive way with the 1k days, but today, for ONLY 5minutes, it went the negative way. I lost a couple of stacks in that supershort timespan. Back in the day this would've affected my quite a bit, and had to take a short break to detilt, now i just played through it like it was nothing new.
All of the hands were standard coolers/suckouts like running KK into AA or sets getting sucked out by flushes etc. If this had happen last year i'd be mad. Now i just see it as STANDARD AS FUCK. In the long run everyone gets sucked out equally or set-up, these hands DONT MATTER.
They only matter if you don't practice proper BRM and can't handle the swings.

In regards to gf story

I found that it is best to be single until I find the girl that understands what poker is (skill game) and the depth it has on my life and freedom I have thanks to it. If the girl deep down wants to change me, to get me to get a real job or get me to quit overall - then she is simply wasting my time and energy. Don't care how hot or great she is in other things, if she doesn't accept poker as job/hard work vs luck, there is no place for her in my life for long term relationship.
This made me turn away many hot and cool girls but in the end I want to be with girl that will support me in both great and bad times in poker, not to wait for bad times to preach how I should quit the game.

Yea i sort of came to the same conclusion. Still a hard choice tho, since we are creatures of habits by nature. Also the fact that it's easily possible nowadays to do a careerswitch in your 30's makes the choice to play poker for a few years easier.
I sometimes told her how much i made in a session and eventough she knows i played all through college to pay my beers etc. She still responds with: "oh but why didn't you quit earlier, you could've lost all that money' or something similar.

It's still funny that in 2017 the game is seen as a game of chance by the majority of people. :f_o:

Played my first hands at NL400 for an hour or so. Pots get quite big fast there. 1 3bet and a cbet and it's already more than an allin on nl50. :f_ugly: Overall i made a small loss on the tables due to some lost flips. Also didn't really feel like scared money, ran some triple barrel bluffs like i would normally and felt fine.
Just 1 hand 150bb deep where a fish was making me semi nervous, i had overbet the turn and the river came a card that smashed his range and he started to timebank OOP and i'm like "CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECK" so i can check behind with my Overpair. We still had ~300+ behind so was quite happy when he did check and showed a missed draw.

Also that hour or 2 of playing a table of 400 along with my other tables, made 200 feel like semi peanuts. Not even talking about the 50 peanuts. It's also good for my mental game that i see alot of regulars on 200 making the most atrocious mistakes. Raising flushdraws to get it in with ZERO Foldequity, if they even thought about the spot a second longer they might reconsider. But they'll probably won't notice these mistakes as long as they hit them all the time. Or they think: "oh atleast i still had 38% equity, can't be that bad'.

Do wonder how some regulars are able to grind NL5k right beside NL200 games, that difference is huge money wise. :f_drink:

I'm just going to post a monthly recap as i won't have alot of time the last few days and i don't want to make it in oktober.

SO HERE GOEEEEEEEEES.

Quite the month, Almost DIED(ok i was nowhere close to dieing) in a TYPHOON. But it was more a baby typhoon at our place.
Also traveled back to the Netherlands for the time being, almost 3 1k+days in a row. So pokerwise this month was probably one of my best regarding 'results'. But this is also due to playing a higher average stake than i used to do. So this month was mainly the focus on moving up to nl200. Which i can say is almost 100% done. I feel 80% 'home' at NL200 now and NL50 feels like the old shed you used to live in when you're younger. I still play it because it still adds a lot to my bottomline at the moment.

My tracking and planning this month was rather shit, bit hectic with moving places etc to set a goal for hours etc so this went rather shit the last 2 weeks. I did manage to sort of maintain the same grinding schedule as i did in Asia so that's a plus.

Also because of the move my fitness goals have been lacking, i haven't been to the gym again in 10 days lal. I wanted to go this morning, already had my preworkout etc but then i noticed the car was blocked due to some maintenance so i couldn't get out. I figured i might as well play another session, so i played a session with preworkout pumping through my veins, which i didn't have for 6months+. :f_ugly: The plusside tho of being in Europe again is, it's ALOT easier to track macro's. in Asia you'd have to make alot of very rough estimates. Here i can scan labels and put them in myfitnessPal. Weighed myself this afternoon(i know not a right time to do so but). I weighed 70.7KG fully clothed, so that's probably 69-69.5KG without. Just 2 months ago i was hitting 80kg's lol. It's probably time again for me to start a leanbulk. :f_drink:

So Goalzies for Oktober:
Properly keep track of my grinding hours again. I'm thinking of atleast 6hr per grinding day. Need to figure the exact number out still.
Also due to me being single again i have some more free time on my hands to play in the weekends. This should up my total number of hours played. And 1 of the reasons i don't know the exact number of hours yet.
In Oktober i also want to play a bit more NL400 if i see some good games and only if my bankroll allows it.
For my fitness goals i'll have to see how strong i am tomorrow morning after this cut. Last time in Asia i did incline bench press for 75kg for ~3reps or so at 72KG BW. But seeing i dropped some more weight, haven't been to the gym 2 weeks AND don't have my spotter anymore i think i'm going to start alot lower.

Oh man lots happening!

Hope you are good about ending with gf. Never pleasant. But it really is important that she understands what we are doing, like Pedja said you need support and understanding in good and bad in poker, which is really hard if she doesn't really embrace/understands the game and what you are doing.

From my personal experience though most of the people find poker as really intriguing career, respect it and find it really cool, so I don't even think it is so socially unacceptable a lot of times, but I think it is cool to be different and not be trapped in the system so much anyway haha. I think we are really lucky, I mean how many people do you know that went traveling for 6 months and were all around the world. In my experience most people wish to do it, but they find it almost outside of the reality to really ever do it with regular jobs and all. So I am super grateful myself, even what I could experience as a small time fish in poker, so hopefully it will just go up and be even more awesome. As you are crushing poker it is not a bad option to take advantage of it, a lot of people don't even have that option in life.

Oh yeah, otherwise first time I went to travel I also had backpack and let me tell you 4 wheel trolley makes traveling so much easier (and you can put the screen in haha). And I confirm that Vietnam apartment is awesome :)
Sweet about NL400, I started to play it again as well, but I am a bit money scared, but getting used to it again. One 3bet pot, one CB and my day's efforts are erased lol. But it is exciting.

I have a feeling you will not stay in Netherlands for long :)

OMFG I JUST POSTED AN ENTIRE POST I SCRAPE MY TOUCHPAD WITH MY THUMB AND EVERYTHING IS GONE OMFGGGGGGGG.

Here goes again..

I'm feeling fine about breaking up with my gf, of course there's a void to be filled now after a relationship of 3.5years. But i feel she was holding me back in multiple ways. Everything was 'ok' but not more than that. Alot of couples stay that way, get married, then figure they're not the one for eachother. And they break up after having a marriage and perhaps children. The timing of my breaking up was a bit unlucky tho, 5 days after we broke up her grandmother also passed away, oops.

I haven't been able to play alot of poker over the weekend, went out 2 times and stayed at a friends place so only had sunday afternoon in the weekend. And today i missed my morning session because i had some sleep to catch up. Without my morning session it's kinda hard to hit my hourly targets. Played a lil bit of NL400, but i'm going stick to the following: i may only play NL400 when i'm atleast BE for the session. I started NL400 tables when i was already 500 down... So losing another stack there would be a little much, or the table has to be really juicy. But this afternoon everything was superreggy.

Also started tracking my calorie intake, according to myfitnesspall i need about 3k roughly. It's almost 4PM and i'm only at 1k yet lal. Hard to hit that target with healthy foods and Intermitted fasting but i will try.

Last 2 days are bit like this:

Yesterday i probably had my worst day in the last 30 days and today i had my best day.

In the end i was clicking only a few tables, they were juicy enough to continue playing for another 3hours but i already hit 7hours today and the gym was also calling my name. So i quit the session to go the gym, still sore of monday but what'd you expect after not going for 3-4wks. Atleast the materials aren't broken here like in Asia.

Also something REALLY annoying about my laptop: I think the HDMI port is slightly damaged. From time to time it doesn't register there's a screen connected so EVERYTHING that's on my 2nd screen pops up on my laptop and i have to re-move all the tables again.

Oh yea there's this 1 hand i played today: I 4bet pre with 78s or so and flop a gutter on TTJcc or something similar and i'm like naaah not going to cbet, my outs aren't clean and the board smashes his range quite hard. So i check to give up, turn goes check/check again river is the Ac, goes check/check again since i still have the feeling he's slowplaying me.

He shows his hand KQcc for a royal flush. :f_ugly:

#ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohdamn.:truestory:
