BTN limp VS A6o Shove ( 17 BB)

Against a limp of a BTN player I don’t think shoving is bad with a hand like A6o. This way you don’t need to play post-flop out of position and I expect he would fold a lot here.

I don't like the shove without special reads. Why not take the free flop? But maybe I'm too nitty

You can do this with pocket pair. This shove is not bad at all, maybe borderline. Without info. The problem is, if he have bigger Ace or even AA, will be so ugly.

I expect a random BTN player that limps first in a 22c tournament can do it with a pretty wide range and I expect with the fold equity that we have you can win a lot of chips. Now he makes off course a very loose call and that makes a push most likely even more profitable.

You mean the shove is very profitable. I don't agree with that. This is profitable vs certain players. You can expect whatever you want. This hand is the very bottom. For shove I mean. You can shove, you can call, you can even fold.

I do agree with the Ax reasoning though. Many weaker players overvalue Ax and limp/call with it frequently.
17bb is too much of a gamble here for me. If we had 13bb or lower, I would push as well. Just my 2 cents...
