Fourth Month: donk donk donk?
Time management

I'm so glad this month is finished. He wasn't balanced at all. My internships are completed, but my school started.
And there is this other project that I was involved before Spin Legend. I'm making a labyrinth.
(yeah a labyrinth
you can check the Facebook page of Fiest'Amigne if you want to know about it)
I don’t have much free alone time. Maybe this is too early to decide, but for now, I don’t want to integrate hypnotherapy in my schedule.
I'm not doing stuff for money, I do stuff because I like it.
This is not a definitive goodbye, I'm just more passionate about poker right now, and hypnotherapy is really time-consuming.
Funny story about my first days of school:
One of the teachers had a verbal tic. She was saying "so", at the begging, the end and in the middle of every sentence.
Since I'm in the french part of switzerland, "so" means "donc". Do you see where I'm going?
donk donk donk donk donk donk donk donk
For the non poker player reading this: definition of a donk bet.
How was I supposed to think about anything else than poker when my teacher was donking me on every hand?
Anyway, a lot happened this month, and not as much poker as I wanted.
Where do I start?
Of course, there was my second internship who ended the 15 of the month. Half the month away from playing poker.
I learned during 25hours on the first half of the month and during the second half, I was running toward some volume at the table.
For three days, I was in Milano (Italy), and of course, I didn't anticipate the fact that you can't play on pokerstars.com here.
What was I supposed to do? play on pokerstars.it ? Is it ok with the management? Is it even "legal" ?
No problem, I'll play live.
Wait a minute... There is not even a casino in Milano
I feel like a bad student who needs to justify his lack of work :f_frown:. But I knew July-August will be like that, this is why a made more hours than I needed during my first month. From now on, my schedule should look more like the second month.
Something important for me, next month, I'll be even with my hours for the project. I hate having overdue hours, that's stressing me out
I said nothing about the new "reward" system of Pokerstars. But I have to say something about this:

I had a good routine before my internships, it was better every day, and I miss it. It will be my objective for September.
Big thanks to YakuDzen, his remark about meditating was the little push I needed to start this ritual again.
A meditation routine gave me the sensation to have time for myself. It felt great.
Amazing news! My little brother made me an uncle
my niece is beautiful and healthy

I know, your weird cousin who loves to count clouds does more tournaments than me in a month.
But hey, what can I do :|. I did my best considering the circumstances.
One day I even drove 20 minutes to play 3 tournaments and then 20 minutes back the other way
I tried to multi-table (again) because I was really confident. But It ended up the same way as the last time :sifflote::fouet:
STOP! I won't do it again until I'm finished with my 1000 tournaments in 3$.
I'm starting to find some spots where to two barrels ♠_cool:
I improved this dark theme where so many of us lose money: my B game.
The first step was to identify the variation in my game:
- Bad read of the board
- Forgot to keep in mind villain tendencies
- Bad/loose call without the odd
Then I was able to feel my game slip from A to B and enforce it.
In my opinion, this is so important. A move that I'm unsure of, I can post it in the forum and discuss it. A move that I can correct myself is just a "stupid" mistake. When I review it later, it feels so unnecessary and expensive. When you add up every "stupid" mistake, it cost you a lot of chips ♠_mad:
Bad run or bad beat are like armpits, every body has at least two, and nobody cares.
Let's just say that my hands were shitty, kickers weak, flops greasy,........ mom's spaghetti
But hey, my graph end up pretty good
It may seem that I didn't grind a lot, but with only one table at a time, it was a lot for me sometimes.
Theoretically, some studies say that you can stay focused 45 minutes or 90 if you're very motivated.
This is of course when you're not tired. Due to my schedule this month, I was sometimes tired and couldn't keep my 70-90 minutes sessions.
A good sign to take a break was when I couldn't stop thinking about the last hand. In these cases, I finish my game, I examine my hands marked and I take a break.
(I'm writing those lines with 3.5 hours of sleep during my school break. Let's hope that my sentence makes sense. I should manage my sleep better tonight
)
At the end of the month, I was so worried about my EV. It was an obsession. I didn't like it.
I wanted to show you and the management that even when I don't play much, I play a good poker.
I must admit, I entered some sort of witch hunt for cEV with the passion of a flat earther theorist
Questioning the charts, filtering my hands to obtain what I wanted.
Great news, I was paranoiac and on the bad side of variance.
Karcist and YakuDzen helped me to see the light (thank you guys). Edit: darkmarkobie, thanks!
The earth is roung and the strategy is fine
One thing good happened about that though. Running good or running bad is now EV oriented in my mind. I don't really care about winning or losing a 80%, I'm just glad to gather some cEV.
Some player made me realize something. It’s easier to beat a bad player than a really mediocre player. At least the bad player has a certain way of thinking that I can follow
It makes me remembered this false quote that a Japanese general presumably said: "The difficult thing about planning against the US is that they use chaos. And there is no planning against chaos."
But this is SpinLegend
There is a plan for chaotic player! -> Don't adapt the strategy, it works fine against them
Sometimes, there was some really bad passive player that I wanted to rematch so bad ♠_p:. But as you know, this is not possible in Spin&go.
For conclusion, let's talk about my last post
How can I integrate all the notions of Spin&Go without learning every individual situation?
I don't think there is an universal response. Luckily, I found one that makes me calm.
A long time ago, in a Pokerstrategy forum far away, so far away that it was in french, some guy had a signature under his post:
"Master your instrument, Master the music, and then forget all that
and just play." Charlie Parker on how to play Jazz
Same thing applies to poker.
This may only apply to a genius of the game/music, but you get the idea. I love this approach. I won't forget all that shit, I'll just know when to use a certain approach.
This is not the time to learn some fancy play, I'm still playing 3$, but there is a lot to learn and to apply at the right time.

Next month
Reimplement my awesome routine:
- Meditate
- A bit of forum
- Strategic video
- Small break
- Grind
(repeat as much Grind/small break as possible
- Hands review
- Forum
- Continue to post some hands in the forum
- Be oriented on playing my A game as long as possible
- When I slide into my B game, be careful and attentive
- Stop playing before the "ho shit, I just made a very stupid play, I'm too tired, I should stop playing"
Ok, that's it. I didn't sleep on the train to finish my article; I'm in my car writing those last lines.
I'm going home,
I'll eat some paella to become a Spanish Spin&Go legend from the inside
and then
SLEEP.
Cheers.

P.S overall graph/time management on the first and second post updated.
