The river is indeed tricky. He needs to overplay a decent amount of 2 pair hands to make a call like this profitable, because it’s cost you almost the game if you lose and if you win you have off course a good chance to win the SNG, but the risk of losing is so great that you need good reads to make a call like this profitable and if you fold you have still good changes to finish at least 2nd.

Indeed tricky hand...river raises are so strong most of the time that I'd also consider folding vs unknown here

Safe and long-term choice is folding. He can easily have played this way with an ATo or a crazy Qx rivered two pair .

As you say versus a fish there is some space for calling but I think a discipline excersice is to fold without reads.

As someone who is treading new steps into poker SnG. I used to study very poorly and my results were or still are poorly. Kidding, I'm seeing a light in the final of the tunnel.

Ok, be an open raise SB with KQ. Otherwise, in the early game, I think you can barreling just one and play turn ahead as checking/call and fold for extra aggression. There are a lot of risks and too little rewards, because, your equity will be quiet the same if win.

I would prefer a more conservative approach right now or even do nit. This villain could cold call you with crap hands and are bluffing you or can have value hands as a set and even a straight because I consider AT in blind defense.
