Well, I just simply HAVE to move up after this last insane run.

I will do this blog to force myself playing 5NL and not to fall back into my comfort zone of 2NL.

Over 195K hands (all my hands) I'm +5.3 BB/100 All at 2NL

Here my last 25K hands (I just blindly folded to all real aggression)

Which is an insane run!

I will not change my strategy. I will keep folding and folding and see what that brings.
Evaluate after 25K of hands again. Updates every week.

Dang, I'm scared to get out of this cozy 2NL environment.

=====================================================================

Yipee! First session!

Edit: added first session

Good luck with your shot at 5NL.

I am in the same boat as you - afraid of getting out of my comfort zone, because I must have the largest bankroll online for 2NL.:f_biggrin:

I think folding to aggression at 2NL is fine because at this level few will pick up on your tendencies and exploit them because 80% of the time the villain raising will have you beat. From my experience I think weak tight is the best way to beat 2NL. I colour code the villains if they are passive or aggressive, and tight or loose. If a passive player shows aggression its an easy fold if it means not going all in with my TPTK.

I am going to take a 10 buy-in shot myself shortly.

Hi arthurbentley
I don't think my stats say 'weak tight' .. passive aggressive maybe?

I think now that by folding you exploit the 2NL player tendency to NOT balance their river bets.

Throw away your ego. Folding to a bluff is much cheaper than calling a big bet and loose.

Make the move man. I want to update weekly so tomorrow I'll post my graph but I had more 'fish with spasms' over there then at 2NL!?

Good luck!

Maybe 2NL has a lot of arthurbentlies (and RubbyDubbies) ?

5NL now... :wtf: !!!

Also.. first time ever I run above EV for a challenge!

At two places i did NOT follow my folding rules and guess what happened.
Maybe 'good' poker players are just 'more' disciplined than the 'not so good' ones.

I'll called with bottom set on a dry board. I think that is simply a mistake. Hand is now ..here...

And my 'passive aggressive' stats for this INSANE 5NL run:

WTSD ~ 26
WSD ~ 60
WWSF ~ 46

Wow!
Insane results man!
I always knew that a little bit of passive aggression could lighten up most things.
Keep distributing butt-kicks to those villains!

I hope there isn't many arthurbentlies on 2NL otherwise I will have trouble beating it. :f_biggrin:

Well done on your initial shot. I am sure you will crush 5NL. I am fully bankrolled on Pokerstars, but I think I might take my shot on microgaming and take advantage of the low rake and weaker opponents.

Not an expert, not sure how to define these, although it's said that WWSF and W$SD should be both around 50%, but not sure if that's correct on 2NL since You mostly base Your winnings on showdown as weak players may just not fold that often. In future it's probably good to increase raise, x/raise and overall aggression vs weakness and that should help Your redline, increase WWSF and lower Your W$SD (which ironically should be a positive change to Your winnings). But still, doing well so far, good luck.

Well... still 19BB/100 but I just stopped winning.

I really don't know how these luck things work.. suddenly BOOM.... no more luck :)

But almost no loss... just keep cool and I guess I will hit hands again.

At 5NL almost 8 buy-in downswing after an extremely good start.
My fault.. To much fit or fold. That is not gonna do it.

At 2NL I'm invincible by the way
