“Leibi180” Wins GREAT 8, Moorman Exits in Third Place

The $88 buy-in Sunday GREAT 8 attracted 237 players who rebought 101 times. That meant a $30,000 prize pool was up for grabs, and the top 32 finishers collected a part of it including Mike “Pipedream17” Dietrich (25th - $225), “josef_shvejk” (15th - $450), “GangstaGo” (8th - $825), and “stevechenko7” (4th - $2,550).

888poker Ambassador Chris “888Moorman” Moorman made a deep run at the title, but he ultimately came up two spots shy busting in third place for $3,450. After 9 hours and 24 minutes, it was Switzerland’s “Leibi180” who defeated the UK’s “Hateeeeem” in heads-up play to win $6,075.

It was the second win for “Leibi180” in just over a month. Back on April 3, he took down the $5,000 Lightning 6-Max for $1,515.

“GangstaGo” Claims Mega Deep Title for Ukraine

Speaking of Ukraine’s “GangstaGo” he was also at the final table of the $215 buy-in Sunday Mega Deep, which attracted 311 players who rebought 107 times. This time he was able to close it out by defeating “PokerJoe332” in heads-up play after just over nine hours in the tournament.

“PokerJoe332” very nearly added a Mega Deep title to go along with the $15,000 GREAT 8 one he won back on April 3. That said, the $14,500 he received for finishing runner-up in the Mega Deep was quite a bit more than the $3,675 he got for the win.

Others who finished in the top 40 and earned a piece of the $100K prize pool were Niklas “tutten7” Åstedt (36th - $580), Paul “Senta99” Senter (20th - $1,000), Mike “Pipedream17” Dietrich (10th - $2,000), Alexandru “alexos888” Baron (6th - $4,000), and “Flopzilla_XD” (3rd - $11,000).

Two-Time WSOP Bracelet Winner Mark “AceSpade11” Radoja Wins Whale

The $1,050 buy-in, $100K GTD Whale surpassed its guarantee by attracted 86 players who rebought 42 times. That created a $128K prize pool paid out to the top dozen spots. The trio to cash but fall short of the final table were “omnomonoomn” (12th), Anton “B.Mitchell” Wigg (11th), and “hellohellooo” (10th - $3,200), each received $3,200 in prize money.

888poker Ambassador Chris “888Moorman” Moorman was at another final table, but he bowed out early in ninth place for $3,840. Others at the final table included Fabricio “DrMiKee” Gonzalez (8th - $4,480), “Pimmelspeck” (5th - $8,960), and “KimberSlice” (3rd - $17,920).

After 9 hours and 3 minutes, Canada’s Mark “AceSpade11” Radoja bested the UK’s “f0mEiTseGal” to win the title for $35,200. Radoja is a two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner. His first came in 2011 when he took down the $5,000 NLH Shootout event for $436,568, and two years later he won the 2013 WSOP Event #16: $10,000 Heads-Up Championship for $336,190.

Sunday Challenge Ends in Heads-Up Chop

The $109 buy-in Sunday Challenge drew 322 runners who rebought 150 times. That offered up a $50K prize pool paid out to the top 48 players including “Sinatra48” (33rd - $285), Chris “888Moorman” Moorman (20th - $485), Alexandru “alexos888” Baron (8th - $1,125), and “MAMOHT_T” (3rd - $5,375).

After 8 hours and 52 minutes, a heads-up deal was struck between “BlackBrahman” and “kiskutya23.” The latter received $8,046.46 and the former $8,703.54 and the title. It was the first Sunday win for “BlackBrahman” since January 28 when he took down the $10,000 Sunday Deepstack Monsoon for $3,128.85.

Brazil’s Francisco “chiconogue” Nogueira Wins Turbo Mega Deep in Less Than 4 Hours

The $215 buy-in Turbo Mega Deep surpassed its $15K GTD by attracting 70 players who rebought 23 times. That generated an $18,600 prize pool paid out to the top 12 players including Anton “VnilaVader” Herrmann (12th - $511.50), “Imogenjaxon” (9th - $511.50), “Nemekiss” (4th - $1,767), and “Fukuruku” (3rd - $2,604).

After just 3 hours and 54 minutes, Brazil’s Francisco “chiconogue” Nogueira defeated Germany’s “NIMAJNEB16” in heads-up play to win $5,068.50.

On Thursday, the 2018 XL Inferno got underway with the first three tournaments on the 34-event schedule. The series, which runs through May 20, offers a wide range of buy-ins with seven figures in guarantees.

That includes a $1,050 buy-in, $1,000,000 GTD Main Event on Sunday, May 20.
Remember, everyone who wins an XL Inferno title earns a ticket into the Champion of Champions tournament, which will see the top three finishes each win a prize package to the 2018 World Series of Poker.

Satellites for the XL Inferno are running now for as low as $0.01.

Ukraine’s “psyhoagromor” Wins XL Inferno Opening Event

The series kicked off with the highly-anticipated Event #1: $100,000 Opening Event, which cost $109 to enter. With 880 players who rebought 357 times, it created a prize pool of $123,700.

Among those to compete but fall short of the money were Simon “Isildur1337x” Mattsson, Roman “Romeopro33” Romanovskyi and Niklas “tutten7” Åstedt. Likewise, 888poker Ambassador Parker “888tonkaaaa” Talbot, who was live streaming on Twitch, failed to make the money, while Chris “888Moorman” Moorman fell eight spots shy of a cash.

After “pipakos555” bubbled the tournament, the top 117 players made the money including “DoobieFish” (84th - $284.51), Bryan “DePittsterje” Paris (67th - $333.99), Jans “Graftekkel” Arends (53rd - $395.84), “Fukuruku” (29th - $507.17), “SmilleThHero” (15th - $1,051.45), “im_a_luckbox” (8th - $2,535.85), and “Doked” (3rd - $11,998.90), who fell in a big hand when his pocket jacks were cracked by the tens of Ukraine’s “psyhoagromor”.

After 13 hours and 7 minutes in the tournament, “psyhoagromor” defeated Switzerland’s “_Lord_Xenu_” in heads-up play to win the title and $22,266 in prize money.

It was a bit of redemption for “psyhoagromor”, who back in September finished runner-up in a XL Eclipse event. More recently, he won the $10,000 Thursday Cube for $3,250 back on April 5, and two months earlier won the $5,000 Deepstack Monsoon for $1,650.

“Shebalow” Claims XL Inferno Title for Saudi Arabia

The $12 buy-in Event #2: $20,000 Mini Opening Event saw 1,428 players account for 741 rebuys, which created a $23,642 prize pool. That was distributed to the top 162 players including “A.FILTH” (122nd - $42.55), “gption” (81st - $54.37), “pokerkid710” (26th - $94.56), “Zelja22” (12th - $208.05), “brook0817” (6th - $933.86), and “mannyking” (4th - $1,607.66).

After Russia’s “Bigfishka44” exited in third place for $2,243.63, the title came down to Germany’s “bliblablupbp” and Saudi Arabia’s “Shebalow”. After 10 hours and 18 minutes, the latter prevailed to capture the $4,020 first-place prize.

Argentina’s “germaxii” Becomes Two-Time XL Inferno Champ

The third event of the day, Event #3: $25,000 Late Opening Event, saw 489 players pony up the $55 buy-in and rebuy 152 times. That surpassed the guarantee by creating a $32,050 prize pool paid out to the top 63 players including Alexandru “alexos888” Baron (30th - $176.27), “pokerdave128” (15th - $320.50), “StrbxGrndr” (8th - $721.12), “LeshiyAS” (7th - $1,041.62), and “NoTrustEver” (4th - $2,499.90).

After 7 hours and 20 minutes, Argentina’s “germaxii” defeated Canada’s “dankreas” in heads-up play to win the title and accompanying $6,089 first-place prize. It was the second year in a row the Argentinean won a XL Inferno title. Last May, he bested a field of 232 players to win Event #194: $50,000 T
Turbo Mega Deep for $10,225.

He also won two XL Eclipse events back in September. The first was Event #70: $20,000 Crocodile for $4,708 and the other, Event #167: $10,000 Turbo Knockout, a week later for $2,548.

XL Series Champ “GangstaGo” Wins an Inferno Title

The $55 buy-in Event #4: $20,000 Twins Royal easily surpassed its guarantee by attracting 440 players who rebought 166 times. That created a $30,300 prize pool paid out to the top 63 spots including Opening Event runner-up “_Lord_Xenu_” (56th - $133), XL Blizzard champ “Pasha813” (26th - $181), XL Blizzard Main Event winner “Pepepepepe”. (16th - $242), “Atrepok” (6th - $1,287), and “LucySagara70” (3rd - $3,105), another XL Blizzard winner.

After 8 hours and 43 minutes, Ukraine’s “GangstaGo” defeated Ireland’s Dan “xXGlamBabeXx” Wilson in heads-up play to win $5,757. The Irishman had to settle for second place and a $4,242 consolation prize.

In January of last year, “GangstaGo” topped a field of 349 entries to win the $215 buy-in Super XL Event #61: $50,000 Turbo Mega Deep for $13,506.

“GangstaGo” Denied 2nd Title as “Sluuut123” Claims Twins Flush Title

The $55 buy-in Event #5: $20,000 Twins Flush boasted a $31,100 prize pool after 447 players took to the virtual felt and rebought 175 times. Among the 63 players to get paid were “abmarin” (37th - $155), “Fukuruku” (20th - $186), 2017 XL Inferno champ “tikkapekka” (8th - $700), and winner of Event #4 “GangstaGo” (3rd - $3,188).

Remember, any player who final tables three XL Inferno tournaments will be receive a $600 tournament ticket in their 888poker account. With more than week of events remaining on the schedule, “GangstaGo” is well on his way to doing it.
After 8 hours and 38 minutes, Ireland’s “LeggySusie” and Sweden’s “Sluuut123” struck a heads-up deal. The former locked up $4,600 while the latter claimed $5,663 and the title.

Big Fish Series Continues to Pay Out Big Prizes

In other news, the Big Fish, which is comprised of six new daily tournaments, continues to impress with $100,000 in guarantees DAILY and buy-ins starting as low as $5.50.

Here’s a look at all those who won Big Fish titles on Friday:

- Sweden’s “eddeheuheu” topped a field of 1,241 entries to win the $5.50 Big Fish for $1,117.

- The UK’s “OPH1UCHUS” bested an 822-entry field to win the $33 Big Fish for $4,658.

- The $16.50 Big Fish saw the final four players of a 1,482-entry field strike a deal, each locking up over $2,000. Germany’s “ocin1337zipf” for the most money with $3,085, but “johny08080” actually won the title for $2,420.

- The $33 Big Fish drew 1,002 runners and saw Canada’s “iknewiwould7” win it for $5,516.

- The second $5.50 Big Fish saw 2,546 entrants take to the virtual felt. After more than seven hours, Brazil’s “pibr774” walked away the victor for $2,370.

- Finally, the second $16.50 Big Fish ended when the final two players of a 704-entry field struck a deal. The UK’s “pipakos555” took second for $1,681, while Russia’s “Gatty022” claimed the title and $1,777 in prize money.

Mega Deep Champ “eltxupacabra” Wins XL Inferno Crazy 8

The $88 buy-in Event #6: Crazy 8 drew 438 players who rebought 153 times. That meant the top 56 players would earn a piece of the $50,000 prize pool including “ParzivaI” (33rd - $275), “carbondating” (21st - $485), “LeshiyAS” (10th - $815), and “OverM1nd” (4th - $3,750).

After “diegoodl1” exited in third place for $5,250, the title came down to “ITonya” and “eltxupacabra” with the latter coming out on top to win $9,500. It was the second win of the year for “eltxupacabra”, who back in March take down the $215 Mega Deep for more than $20K.

“buldos” Compliments XL Eclipse Win with XL Inferno Title

The $8.80 buy-in Event #7: $15,000 Mini Crazy 8 surpassed its GTD with 1,317 players who rebought 606 times. That generated a $15,384 prize pool paid out to the top 160 players including “OPH1UCHUS” (55th - $44.61), XL Inferno Event #3 champ “germaxii” (29th - $56.92), “ImaBarista” (12th - $126.14), and “DaniMarinov” (4th - $1,077).

After 10 hours and 8 minutes, Belarus’ “buldos” defeated Latvia’s “PhoenixRuffy” in heads-up play to win $2,770. It was the second XL title for “buldos”, who last September topped a field of 2,021 entries to win the XL Eclipse Event #98: $25,000 Mini Tune Up for $5,118.

Opening Event Champ “psyhoagromor” Denied Second Title By “Kaktus26rus”

The $44 buy-in Event #8: Late Crazy 8 drew 271 players who rebought 71 times. The $15,000 prize pool was paid out to the top 40 spots including “germaxii” (30th - $100), “TboneMunson” (16th - $225), “Kroat”. (9th - $300), “pokerdave128” (4th - $1,200), and “heroes333” (3rd - $1,650).

The title came down to Russia’s “Kaktus26rus” and Ukraine’s “psyhoagromor,” who you might recall beat out a 1,237-entry field to win Event #1: $100,000 Opening Event for more than $22K. Unfortunately for “psyhoagromor,” he was denied a second title as “Kaktus26rus” came out on top to win $2,925.

If that name sounds familiar, it’s probably because “Kaktus26rus” is a three-time from last September’s XL Eclipse. First, "Kaktus26rus" won Event #121: $15,000 Breeze for $3,134, and then he took down Event #152: $100,000 Quarterback for $21,099 after beating World Series of Poker bracelet winner Chris "NigDawG" Brammer heads up. He then topped it off by winning the XL Inferno Event #168: $15,000 Lightining 6-Max for $4,576.

In other news
The Big Fish, which is comprised of six new daily tournaments, continues to impress with $100,000 in guarantees DAILY and buy-ins starting as low as $5.50.

Here’s a look at all those who won Big Fish titles on Saturday:

-The $5.50 Big Fish drew a 1,249-entry field and ended in a three-way chop between “terz0k” ($906), “Markus103er” ($870), and “badl74” ($765).

- The $33 Big Fish attracted 797 entrants and ended when the UK’s “julhen” struck a deal with Germany’s “BarrelnBink8.” The former got the title and $4,287 in prize money and the latter $3,505 for second place.

- The second $5.50 Big Fish had 2,430 runners and ended after nearly seven hours when Germany’s “777bella” finished as the last player standing for $2,533.

- The $16.50 Big Fish ended after nearly nine hours with Mexico’s “StrbxGrndr” topping a 1,275-entry field to win $3,600.

- The second $33 Big Fish drew 880 entries and ended when “chssk” ($5,132) and “Scaed0815” ($4,542) agreed to a deal.

BIG Sunday Coming Up:

For online poker, Sunday is the biggest day of the week, and the XL Inferno is no exception. Five XL tournaments are on the Sunday schedule along with a Main Event satellite.

The day will begin with the $215 buy-in Event #9: $120,000 Mega Deep at 16:30. At 17:00, both the $160 buy-in Event #10: $150,000 Tune Up and $12 buy-in Event #11: $50,000 Mini Tune Up get underway.

An hour later at 18:00, the $1,050 buy-in Event #12: $150,000 Whale begins, and 35 minutes after that a $160 buy-in Main Event Mega Satellite with 15 seats guaranteed will kick off. At 20:00, the Sunday slate will close out with the $55 buy-in Event #13: $25,000 Late Tune Up.

The 2018 XL Inferno Has Its First Two-Time Winner

Two days after besting a 622-entry field to win the $55 buy-in Event #5: $20,000 Twins Flush for $5,663, Sweden’s “Sluuut123” navigated a field of 706 entries (484 players + $222 rebuys) to win the $215 buy-in Event #9: $120,000 Mega Deep for $26,828.

For winning two XL Inferno events, “Sluuut123” was awarded a bonus $1,000. If he manages to win a third anytime in the next week, that’ll increase to $10,000, and if per chance he makes it four it jumps to $100,000. Finally, in the unlikely events that he wins five events – and keep in mind he’s already 40% of the way there – he will walk away with $1,000,000!

The tournament saw the top 63 players earn a piece of a $141,200 prize pool including 888poker Ambassador Natalie “888NatalieH” Hoff (55th - $621), Cristian “progree69” Sampaoli (23rd - $847.20), Event #8 champ “Kaktus26rus” (9th - $2,344), “stockfish9” (4th - $11,013), and runner-up “HomoDeus” ($19,768).

Switzerland’s “Justaduck” Wins Tune Up for Nearly $29K

The $160 buy-in Event #10: $150,000 Tune Up drew 744 players who rebought 303 times, which created a $157,050 prize pool paid out to the top 99 players. Among those to earn a payday were “Pelfort” (60th - $487), Event #3 champ “germaxii” (29th - $675), “LuckyBoss” (8th - $3,455), “ShipGold” (5th - $8,166), and “LivinThDream” (3rd - $15,548).

After 11 hours and 21 minutes, Switzerland’s “Justaduck” defeated “1majomf_sz” in heads-up play to win $28,819 and the title.

Uruguay’s “ramak10ss” Takes Down Mini Tune Up

The $12 buy-in Event #11: Mini Tune Up drew 2,898 players who rebought 1,193 times. That resulted in the top 425 players earning a piece of the $50,000 prize pool including “devir13” (31st - $135), “RoboChips” (19th - $155), “popsnpoker” (10th - $305), and “Squ33z3m3Plz” (4th - $2,950).

After Brazil’s “thiagovapt” bowed out in third place for $3,950, the title came down to the Netherlands’ “geniuSSSSS” and Uruguay’s “ramak10ss.” After 10 hours and 42 minutes, the latter came out on top for $7,450.

Whale Ends in Heads-Up Deal Between Qatar’s “Emveer” and Canada’s “PBD03”

Event #12: $150,000 Whale, which cost $1,050 to enter, drew 121 players who rebought 65 times. That surpassed the $150K GTD by creating a $186K prize pool paid out to the top 18 players including Jans “Graftekkel” Arends (16th - $3,813), Preban “prebzzz” Stokkan (13th - $3,999), “8myl8m8” (7th - $7,440), and “kiskutya23” (3rd - $22,599).

After 9 hours and 42 minutes, the final two players struck a deal in which Canada’s “PBD03” took second for $34,907 and Qatar’s “Emveer” claimed the title and $37,632 in prize money.

“Jaxon234” Claims Late Tune Up Title for Germany

With 445 players who rebought 142 times, Event #13: $25,000 Late Tune Up surpassed its guarantee by creating a $29,350 prize pool paid out to the top 63 spots. Among those to win some money were “_Lord_Xenu_” (56th - $129), Event #4 champ “GangstaGo” (31st - $161), “busterchair” (13th - $293), “Iermat” (7th - $954), and “Doked” (3rd - $3,008).

After 7 hours and 14 minutes, Germany’s “Jaxon234” and Russia’s “nU3DOC” struck a deal in with the latter for $4,720 and the former $4,965 and the title.

The $55 buy-in Event #14: $40,000 R&A Event cruised by its guarantee by attracting 361 players who rebought 350 times and accounted for 178 add-ons. That generated a $44,450 prize pool paid out to the top 54 players including Cristian “progree69” Sampaoli (54th - $222), Bryan “DePittsterje” Paris (36th - $267), “grownupguy83” (12th - $578), and “guydeet39” (4th - $3,556).

After “fu2.10” bowed out in third place for $4,667, the title came down to Sweden’s “cuadrado12” and Belarus’ “GoFighTer.” After 6 hours and 30 minutes, the latter came out on top to capture the title and $8,530 first-place prize.

It was the first win for “GoFighTer” since February 15, which is when he won the $44 buy0in $15,000 Daily Challenge for $3,068. Before that, he finished runner-up in the XL Blizzard Event #13: $20,000 Late Tune Up for $4,702.

Meanwhile, it marked the second time “cuadrado12” finished second in a XL Inferno event. Last May, he was the runner-up out of 913 entries in Event #184: $150,000 Mega Deep for $23,738.

Pair of XL Eclpse Champs Finish First & Second in Event #15:

The $5 buy-in Event #15: Mini R&A saw 1,159 players rebuy 1,247 times and do 517 add-ons. That meant a $15,000 prize pool was on tap and among the 153 players to get a piece of it were “VanessaHinz” (58th - $40.50), “EmoBoyfriend” (36th - $55.50), “d.smurf” (16th - $73.50), “KirusRUS” (9th - $165), “jogowhack” (5th - $742.50), and “Arcan3poker” (3rd - $1,425).

The Netherlands’ “MisterN411” Wins XL Inferno High Roller

The $2,600 buy-in Event #16: $200,000 High Roller, the biggest buy-in of the XL Inferno, easily surpassed its guarantee by attracting 84 players who rebought 47 times.
That created a $327,500 prize pool.

Among those to compete in the tournament were 888poker Ambassadors Chris “888Moorman” Moorman and Martin “MJacobson888” Jacobson, as well as poker pros Mike “SirWatts” Watson, Chris “NigDawG” Brammer, Jans “Graftekkel” Arends, Roman “Romeopro33” Romanovskyi, and Adrian “ADRI_ATM” Mateos. Surprisingly, none of them managed to make the money.

Some of those to earn a payday were Johannes “TrollKonst8” Korsar (12th - $8,187), Alexsandr “Biack88” Trofimov (9th - $9,825), “PulledPorker” (6th - $17,194), Tomi “wellyxx” Brouk (4th - $31,112), and “cockbandit44” (3rd - $45,850). After just over nine hours, the title came down to Dimitar “trino11” Yosifov and the Netherlands’ “MisterN411.”

The latter held a big chip lead when the final hand developed. It happened when Yosifov got his short stack in with queen-four and failed to overcome the pocket kings of “MisterN411,” who earned $90,063 for the victory.

In March 2017, “MisterN411” topped a field of 333 entries to win the $100,000 Baby Whale for nearly $20K.

Super Whale Champ “I__AM_ZLATAN” Wins Mini High Roller

The $215 buy-in Event #17: $100,000 Mini High Roller saw 413 players rebuy 232 times to create a 645-entry field. That generated a $129,000 prize pool paid out to the top 54 players including XL Blizzard champ “23NoraB” (38th - $709), Dimitar “trino11” Yosifov (25th - $903), “CKLouis” (14th - $1,419), Jason “jadedjason” James (6th - $5,482), “allesrigged” (5th - $7,224), and “1LevelAbove” (4th - $10,320).

After “J.Tatum” exited in third place for $13,545, Russia’s “CalmRevolver” squared off against the Netherlands’ “I__AM_ZLATAN” for the title. After 8 hours and 49 minutes, the Dutchie prevailed to capture a $24,755 first-place prize.

“I__AM_ZLATAN” was best known for topping a field of 940 entries to win the 2015 $500,000 Super Whale for $129K.

Russia’s “kassigor” Denies Ukraine’s “GangstaGo” a Second Title

Event #18: $30,000 Late High Roller, which cost $160 to enter, drew 181 players who rebought 79 times. That created a $39,000 prize pool paid out to the top 27 finishers including “88ANDREI88” (21st - $390), Event #8 champ “Kaktus26rus” (16th - $487), “Limonad19” (10th - $682), “KelevraJesus” (5th - $2,340), and “Nordynordbrg” (3rd - $4,582).

After 6 hours and 36 minutes, it came down to Russia’s “kassigor” and Ukraine’s “GangstaGo,” who was seeking his second title after winning Event #4: $20,000 Twins Royal. The Ukrainian also had a prior second-place finish in the series, and he’d get another one when his Russian opponent came out on top to win $8,385.

It was the latest win for “kassigor” since last November when he took down the $2,50 Pacific Starfish. A month earlier, he had won the $4,000 Typhoon, and less than three weeks before than claimed a $3,000 Twister title.

Sweden’s “LivinThDream” Finds Redemption

Event #19: $50,000 8-Max, which cost $109 to enter, drew 459 players who rebought 203 times. That created a $66,200 prize pool distributed to the top 64 players including “HolyMoly15” (48th - $278), 888poker Ambassador Chris “888Moorman” Moorman (33rd - $351), “Dollande” (19th - $576), Cristian “progree69” Sampaoli (5th - $3,310), and “”JaNelZZzKl4r” (4th - $4,965).

After Argentina’s “SHIGAON770” exited in third place for $6,792, the title came down to Sweden’s “LivinThDream” and Greece’s “xanthifan.” Just over nine hours into the tournament, the Swede sealed the deal to win $12,578.

It was a bit of redemption for “LivinThDream,” who three days earlier finished third out of 1,047 runners in the $160 buy-in XL Inferno Event #10: $150,000 Tune Up, which was food for $15,548.

Heads-Up Deal Struck in Mini 8-Max

The $12 buy-in Event #20: $15,000 Mini 8-Max saw 1,019 players rebuy 404 times to create a $15,510 prize pool. That was paid out to the top 128 players including “8muggle” (99th - $33), “pensfolds6” (37th - $56), “C.Wurst” (14th - $121), “PS2011” (6th - $543), and Ivan “Dejavu.turn” Raich (3rd - $1,551).

During heads-up play, the final two players struck a deal and then played it out. After 7 hours and 29 minutes, Russia’s “FanToM186” bested Greece’s “trixakias” to win $2,260 and the title. However, his Greek opponent actually pocket more -- $2,615 to be exact – thanks to the deal.

Romania’s “POK_33_TATOO” Stays Up Late to Capture XL Title

The $30 buy-in Event #21: $15,000 Late 8-Max attracted 450 players who rebought 162 times. The 612-entry field resulted in a $16,830 prize pool up for grabs, and the top 64 players got a piece of it including Maxim “hateVAMOS” Lykov (52nd - $64), “brook0817” (26th - $109), “HappySh00ter” (11th - $251), “KToFTW” (6th - $589), and 2017 XL Inferno champ “Le0_Maga” (3rd - $1,727).

It took 7 hours and 17 minutes, but eventually Romania’s “POK_33_TATOO” bested Russia’s “Limonad19” in heads-up play to win $3,198.

The $109 buy-in Event #24: $20,000 Late Quarterback had 178 players rebuy 80 times. Among those to finish in the op 27 and get a piece of the $20K prize pool were Anton “anteen” Bertilsson (26th - $200), “yrkkk” (15th - $300), Event #14 champ “GoFighTer” (12th - $350), “Bullflag” (6th - $1,000), and “summuNNN” (4th - $1,750).

Patrick “omgpatbrooks” Brooks Denies Enrico “HateH4teHate” Camosci Knockout Title

The $150 buy-in Event #25: $25,000 Knockout drew 249 players and created a $35,209 total prize pool ($25K in the regular prize pool and $10,209 in the bounty prize pool). The top 36 players got paid including “poliakov777” (28th for $187 + $123 in bounties), “Pimmelspeck” (15th for $337 + $287 in bounties), Event #8 champ “Kakus26rus” (7th for $875 + $41 in bounties), and “PokerJoe332” (4th for $2,125 + $164 in bounties).

After “onyvapapaa1” exited in third place for $2,825 + $369 in bounties, the final two struck a deal. Malta’s Enrico “HateH4teHate” Camosci took second for $4,096 + $123 in bounties, while the UK’s Patrick “omgpatbrooks” Brooks claimed the title and $4,766 + $369 in bounties.

Back in March, Brooks finished runner-up in the $15,000 Great 8 for $2,550, and would again final table it five weeks later, ultimately finishing in 10h place that time.

Latvia’s “crapmachine” Wins Mini Knockout

In the $35 buy-in Event #26: $15,000 Mini Knockout, 543 entries meant a $19,072 total prize pool ($15K in regular prize pool and $4,072 in bounty prize pool) was up for grabs. The top 72 players earned a piece of it including “gray369” (60th for $52 + $15 in bounties), “summuNNN” (18th for $120 + $52 in bounties), “sickthsense” (11th for $180 + $45 in bounties), and “RiFFRaFF82” (3rd for $1,530 + $52 in bounties).

After just over eight hours, Latvia’s “crapmachine” and Brazil’s “LendaFlavio” struck a deal in which the former got the title and $2,664 + $105 in bounties, while the latter took second for $2,248 +$60 in bounties.

It was the first win for “crapmachine” since February, which is when he took down the $5 buy-in $2,000 GTD Deep Stack for $420. Ten days before that, he also won the $5,000 Deepstack Catfish for $1,219.

Big Fish Series Continues to Pay Out Big Prizes

In other news, the Big Fish, which is comprised of six new daily tournaments, continues to impress with $100,000 in guarantees DAILY and buy-ins starting as low as $5.50.

Here’s a look at all those who won Big Fish titles on Monday:

- The first $5.50 Big Fish drew a 1,030-entry field and ended with the UK’s “thekershaw” on top for $932.

- The $33 Big Fish attracted 719 runners and ended in a three-way chop between “thejoker841” ($3,184), “pycckuii” ($3,023), and “Taoblzentao” ($3,058).

- Russia’s “npyxaECTb” bested a 1,233-entry field to win the $16.50 Big Fish for $3,600.

- In the second $16.05 Big Fish of the day, Ukraine’s “RespectUA” came out on top of a 635-entry field to win $1,900.

- The second $5.50 Big Fish saw 2,504 entrants take to the virtual felt. After 8 hours and 46 minutes, Brazil’s “neskauzao” took it down for $2,533.

- Finally, the second $33 Big Fish had 640 players rebuy 180 times. Ukraine’s “venatel” was the last player sanding and took home $5,667 for his efforts.

The penultimate day of the 2018 XL Inferno played out on Saturday. When it was done, 30 of the 34 tournaments on the schedule were in the books. That means one more day, four events, and $1.32 million in GTDs remain.

The series will come to a head on Sunday with the $1,050 buy-in, $1,000,000 GTD Main Event on Sunday.

Sweden’s “Mrpiink” is the XL Inferno 6-Max Champ

The $160 buy-in Event #28: $50,000 6-Max drew 258 players who brought 168 times, which created a $63,900 prize pool. The top 30 finishers got a piece of it including Maxim “hateVAMOS” Lykov (26th - $511), Bryan “DePittsterje” Paris (14th - $735), “HONKER” (8th - $1,821), “allesrigged” (5th - $3,834), and two-time XL Inferno runner-up “Charlymogo” (3rd - $7,668).

After 8 hours and 40 minutes, Sweden’s “Mrpiink” defeated Vietnam’s “TankeVicius” in heads-up play to win $14,697.

Another Runner-Up Finish for “PhoenixRuffy”

The $30 buy-in Event #30: Mini 6-Max saw 505 players take to the virtual felt and rebuy 202 times. That meant a $20,000 prize pool was up for grabs, and among the 60 players to earn a payday were “RakDoll” (31st - $120), “Strlxen” (16th - $190), “omgjefmonier” (7th - $420), “excepcion7” (4th - $1,480), and “tyalot30” (3rd - $1,480).

After 7 hours and 4 minutes, it was Germany’s “resilience32” besting Austria’s “PhoenixRuffy” in heads-up play to win $2,870. It marked the second time “PhoenixRuffy” has finished runner-up in the XL Series after he finished runner-up to “buldos” in Event #7: $15,000 Mini Crazy 8 for $2,000.

Romania’s “ilovefish888” Isn’t Late to the 6-Max

The $55 buy-in Event #30: $15,000 Late 6-Max surpassed its guarantee by attracting 230 players who rebought 94 times. That meant 30 players would get a piece of the $16,200 prize pool. They included XL Blizzard champ “Pasha813” (29th - $130), “DoobieFish” (19th - $146), “N33dCoaching” (10th - $284), and 2016 Mega Deep Anniversary Edition winner “josef_shvejk” (4th - $1,296).

After “Jesusisback” exited in third place for $1,944, the title came down to the UK’s “acezkingzzz” and Romania’s “ilovefish888.” After 6 hours and 36 minutes, the latter prevailed to take down the $3,726 first-place prize.

Here’s What is in Store for the Final Day of the 2018 XL Inferno:

The final day of the XL Inferno will kick off with a $215 buy-in Main Event Mega Satellite (50 seats GTD) at 15:05. Then, at 16:30, the $215 buy-in Event #31: $120,000 Mega Deep will get underway.

At 18:00, both the $1,050 buy-in Event #32: $1,000,000 Main Event and $160 buy-in Event #33: $150,000 Min Main Event will take place.

Finally, the last tournament on the schedule – the $30 buy-in Event #34: $50,000 Micro Main – will start 30 minutes later at 18:30.

The 888pokerLive Barcelona Opening Event crushed all numbers in previous events with 829 entries creating a massive prize pool that obliterated the €100K GTD.

From Day 1A, it looked as if this 2018 edition of 888poker Live Barcelona was going to be special, and it sure started that way.
The series is set to run from 24 May through 4 June 2018, offering $1,000,000 (~ €800,000) in guarantees spread over a two-week period.
This also includes the massive €500K GTD Main Event, which has a €1,100 buy-in and is planned to start on May 31st.

888poker ambassador, Chris Moorman, who also cashed the opening event, talked about the festival –

“I think the main event will have a similar amount of runners as the opening event but will obviously be way bigger because of the higher buy-in of €1,100.
The money on offer to those who make the final table will be substantial for what is a relatively low buy-in.”

As a result, $3,404,919 in prize money was awarded including $657,176 in first-place prizes.

The $88 buy-in Sunday GREAT 8 saw 213 players rebuy 86 times, which meant a $25,000 prize pool was up for grabs. Among the top 32 finishers to earn a piece of it were Bryan “DePittsterje” Paris (20th - $250), “YSoSerious7” (14th - $375), “sammygrinder” (8th - $687), and “Kroat.” (4th - $2,125).

After Romania’s “MrDrogo” exited in third place for $2,875, the title came down to Greece’s “xanthifan” and the Netherlands’ “LucySagara70.” The Dutchie prevailed after 8 hours and 18 minutes, which was good for $5,062.

Back in January, “LucySagara70” bested a field of 245 runners to win the XL Blizzard Event #25: $25,000 Knockout for $5,523.

“Hurrrrican3” Comes Up One Spot Shy in Mega Deep

The $215 buy-in Mega Deep attracted 304 players who rebought 141 times. A $100K prize pool was paid out to the top 40 spots including to “Fukuruku” (26th - $670), “Kroat.” (14th - $1,500), Fabricio “DrMiKee” Gonzalez (9th - $2,000), and “_zufurduo_” (3rd - $11,000).

After 10 hours and 37 minutes, “Hurrrrican3” and Germany’s “amaze1” struck a deal in with the former took $16,566 and the former $17,434 and the title.

Whale Title Comes Down to a Pair of Canadians

The $1,050 buy-in Whale saw 68 players take to the virtual felt and rebuy 24 times. The $100K prize pool was reserved for the final table, meaning a slew of players missed out including “Kroat.”, Jans “Graftekkel” Arends, and Niklas “tutten7” Åstedt, just to name a few.

Among those to earn a payday were two-time XL Inferno winners and Champion of Champions “Sluuut123” (8th - $4,000), “Madeon1994” (5th - $7,500), and “tinchoarce” (3rd - $15,000). The title came down to a pair of Canadians in “p000cket000” and 2017 XL Inferno champ “T54_IS_A_***.” After 7 hours and 34 minutes, the former came out on top to win a $30,000 top prize while the latter received $20,000 for finishing as runner-up.

It was the first win on 888poker for “p000cket000” since February 20 when he won the $20,000 Mega Deep for $5,517.

“Silenzi0” Compliments Mega Deep Title with Sunday Challenge Win

The $109 buy-in Sunday Challenge drew 302 players who rebought 118 times. Among the top 40 players to win a piece of the $50,000 prize pool were “Life0nMars” (28th - $335), “Dablinov” (12th - $1,000), Jans “Graftekkel” Arends (9th - $1,000), “_Bad_Beat” (5th - $2,750), and “botteonpoker” (3rd - $5,500).

After just over nine hours, Malta’s “Silenzi0” defeated 2017 XL Eclipse champ “Magicooo22” to win $9,750. It was the first win for “Silenzi0” since February 22 when he took down the $20,000 Mega Deep for $5,418.

“luciemae” Claims Monsoon Title for the UK

The $55 buy-in Monsoon blew by its advertised $10,000 guarantee by attracting 175 players who rebought 54 times. That generated an $11,450 prize pool paid out to the top 27 players including “Dablinov” (25th - $114), “V.BlomFan60” (16th - $143), “TheMulletman” (6th - $572), “ChipsFool” (5th - $687), and “Nebespank” (3rd - $1,345).

After 7 hours and 49 minutes, the UK’s “luciemae” defeated Canada’s “JSET72” in heads-up play to win a $2,462 first-place prize.
