he is probably completing and betting any flop so I like the raise with top pair. I like to bet again here and check river, other option is check turn and call his probable river barrel. I like betting more than checking to avoid ugly situations at some river cards.

yea, you should and MUST raise here on the flop.
you have top pair good kicker in SB vs BB so raising here is the best play.
you have a good hand but not a monster so you want to end the hand rather soon then later.
so i would raise here to about 800 to end the hand.
now your bet was just to small to make him fold mid/pair or a draw.
so now you have to bet the turn again. you still have a good hand and if you bet the turn you will be able to see a free showdown very often, and ther are many cards you dont want to see on the river.
so as played, bet around 1k, if he raises you then.... it will be tough and i think you have to fold, but he showed no real strengh so bet and see what happens.
and then check behind the river if he checks.

if you check the turn, you HAVE to call this river card. a king makes no sense for helping his hand so you might still be best here. beside the good odds and your bluff induce check on the turn you have to call.

i think your hand is a bit too weak for checking the turn because there are so many overcards to your nine

Isn't a check on the turn good for bluff induces with something like mid pair, bottom pair or maybe a worse nine? There are no flush draws out there, maybe a straight draw, but if I'd bet the turn I will win the pot right there or run into better cards. So check behind turn, call the river, seemed to be the cheapest but most valuable way to get to the showdown with minor risk.
What do you think?

its only the better play against a known agressive opponent.
against somebody who will call you with weaker 9 or midpair its better to bet.
but here he showed some interest in the hand, so check to induce a bluff is also good.
but i still dont like it to much here because there are so many overcards that can come to beat your nice.
any A, K, J, T or 3 , 6, all cards are really bad for you.
thats why i dont like giving a freecard here.

its different when the pair you hit is something like a Q , K or A because there are not so many overcards that can kill your hand.
