I started to work with the poker-book that I bought "APPLICATIONS of No-Limit Hold'em" and with my intention of working on my favorit-topic "preflop-ranges" that I want to work out really hard the book told me to start with understanding some basic concepts. I agreed and writing down things makes me remember the things better so .... in the following I will work out some basics that are not new for me but I like to reactivate the attention to them! 
Pot-Odds-Calculation
Pot-Odds are the ratio of the amount of money that a player has to put in to the possible amount of chips that they can win. So the pot is 50bb and I bet 30bb the pot-odds are:
30 / (50 + 30) = 30/80 = 3/8 = 0,375 = 37,5 %
I use the tool table-optimizer helping me to have this value calculated for me:
I can use this if need to call ... for example if an opponent bet 30bb to a pot that was @ 50bb and I need to call 30bb the calculation tells me:
30 / (50 + 30 + 30) = 30/110 = 3/11 = 0,27 = 27 %
So the call is just a good call in EV if I win the pot with the call in at least 28%.
Equity
I also learned what equity is and why A9o is still a worth hand comparing to 89s even if A9o has a higher equity at all. This is because the equity of A9o that exists for example IP vs MP is vs a big range that MP will not invest in. As well with the suited connectors we are able to bet draws as a semi-bluff and things like this. Further we can improve our hand and still if we don't we can force MP to fold a stronger hand as we have. Sets for example have 10 % to hit @ turn or river, which is pretty low if we remember that we always bet > 10% on the turn or river β¦ so concerning to the pot-odds-calculation -> it is not profitabel β¦ IF we do not take in other things in our calculation.
As well I learned that hand with 100% hit on flop are less profitable than hands with 33% on the flop. And sometimes it is better to have just the nuts or air and nothing between. For example if the pot is 50bb and the opponent shoves with another 100bb -> 100/250 = 0,4 -> 40%. If we just have 30% Equity we need to fold here middle-good-hands.

Today is university and a lot to do @ work so probably less time today to do a many further things for poker. But the weekend looks nice and have a lot of free time that I will fill with working on poker and playing to gain some played hand-size to the end of the second week!
