Did I misplay that hand? I thought the hand was good enough to call on the button. It was probably a bad idea to go broke on the flop since a T makes a higher straight possible and the backdoor flush draw is hindered by having 3 spades.

yea misplayed. considering the high rake you should play really tight on plo2. i fold this hand preflop as it has three diamonds. 4betting is out of the question as it doesnt have good blockers and utg range should be a little stronger. if it was AdJd7x8x calling can be reasonable as youre on the btn too. you got bare osed straightdraw with a backdoor fd. your hand will be domated by many other hands. for example 78TJ,789T,678T,TJQK,9TJQ,8TJQ and so on. on top youre not closing the action and someone can raise behind you which is really bad.

you should also reconsider the 30k hands challenge. playing plo2 is literally a waste of time and with the high rake you dont do yourself a favour either. i recommend you to move up as soon as the bankroll allows it and you feel ready. from experience i can tell you thst theres not much of a difference between pl2 and pl10. so make sure to advance asap to avoid the high rake.

From experience there is a huge difference between PLO2 and PLO10. And the rake is the same (although at Stars PLO2 might have smaller). It's better to win at PLO2 than lose at PLO10. PLO5 is a lot closer to PLO2 than it is to PLO10.

And if one goal is to work on mental game and tilt issues, PLO2 is A LOT better choice than PLO10. And in PLO2 you can still make money:

For the open-ender hand, it's quite simple situation of implied odds and outs. You don't get enough implied odds to draw that, as you have only 4 outs to nuts.

I haven't been able to get a lot of volume in but I'll post an update anyway. Hopefully life will be less busy soon and i can dedicate more time to playing and studying plo. It has been somewhat swingy as expected but I'm still running good after an admiteddly small sample size.

In the video “PLO buffet (1)” Kyyberi talks about when you have enough Equity to shove and shows hos you can calculate yr percentage against ranges. Could give you an idea, whether the above hands were +ev it not.

on that flop you should call as someone for sure has a straight. if you call and someone else shoves then you can go broke. raising here and only getting it in vs one player is not good considering you only invested 5bb. with you calling you want others with weaker flushdraws to join that you dominate. with your raise youll isolate yourself vs kq and are losing money longterm.
