According to poker-edge I'm not a shark..
As much as I'm trying to understand your post, I kind of fail at understanding it :(. First of all, your title... What is poker-edge? I googled it a bit and it seemed something like HEM, but is it even a permitted software to use? Now the second part of the title, you think you should be a shark with only knowing basic strategies? Sharks are people who play poker for a long time and have very good poker knowledge :).
They say I'm a bomb? Semi-loose/aggressive/aggressive.
Now the bomb sentence doesn't make much sense to me either. What the hell is that? I could interprete it as a maniac, I don't know what agressive/agressive means though. Preflop/postflop agressive? Well If you're playing loose agressive (and are therefore a LAG/maniac) then you might not be sticking to the starting hand charts. I suggest you do that :). There is nothing wrong with being agressive postflop though. Again, stick to the articles strategy :).
The reason I'm not listed as a shark is because I lack discipline.
So what is this discipline? Is it waiting until the river before going all in with a set?
Who says that you lack discipline? I'm not sure that your "leak is going all-in with a set too soon". Again, I advise you to stick with the article strategies about bet-sizing etc. and playing made hands postflop :).
That's what I'm stuck at. I only bet against 2+ more opponents if I have good cards. So what do I need to work on for my discipline?
Again, I am not sure what is this discipline. Your leak seems to be playing too many hands preflop. This "discipline" thing could mean that you're spewing your chips around too much postflop without made hands :|? It's a really awkward expression.
This is also something that sparks more questions. Pro's like Gus hansen are considered sharks in live play, but online they just seem like maniacs with no discipline at all. Why is there a splitting edge between the strategy of live play vs. online play?
Why do you care about poker pros? You should be trying to improve your game, not try to copy theirs. High stakes poker of course requires alot more of balancing lines and advanced strategies, it also means implementing pure bluffs in your game, but you should not do it. Not until you're playing high stakes ;). I think the pros still play alright online (as they reach alot of final tables in main events of the tournaments), their edge on the other players is a bit smaller here because they can't use movement reads etc. but have to observe oponnents' moves or rely on the stats whilst multi-tabling. Some online players have more experience with stats and therefore might have an edge on the poker pros playing online.
Live and online play isn't all that different. On non-high stakes, you could easily go to a casino, play according to the pokerstrategy strategies and do well ---> make profit. You'd just have to observe more instead of relying on stats and you should make notes in your head. Later on, when you're more experienced, you could start movement reading as well :).
I hope this answers your whole post, as for my previous post, I've had to have some fun. I mean for a poorly written topic you can only expect a poorely written reply, right?
