Do you think that bounties add too much complexity to tourneys? Are progressive bounties much more intimidating for newbies than fixed ones?
The traffic at Stars KO SnGs is now bigger than at non-KO non-spin ones, which indicates that the extra fun outweighs the increase in complexity.
Multitable hyper super-KOs actually are a large portion of the SNG traffic (in terms of the number of players sitting there at a given moment), maybe exactly because newbies are more comfortable with 10 bb poker, even though it implies that they go bust in the first hand most of the time because the all-ins are often 3-4-way.
Perhaps the complexity of progressive bounty accumulation is the reason why these SNGs are super-KO and not PKO, though players would last longer on average in the latter case.

They certainly do add complexity when you start putting them into HRC, but for the newbie they are perfectly simple, which is why they are so popular I think.

I think PKOs are a big win-win atm. Recs love them and they are far from solved.
Have you played the HU Zoom Total KO MTTs on Stars? Holy shit those games are fun.
HU Zoom total KOs are my favourite poker format of all time :f_love:, but I'd like to see them available as SNGs before I start learning their theory - it's much more complex than the rules, too.

Oops, I forgot to account for $1.50 turbo 45-mans. About 20 of them are running now, with 900 entrants, plus 24 regular speed $1 45-mans with 1080 entrants, while $1 super-KO 36-mans have 900 entries in total (25x36). That said, most of the entrants of a super-KO are out in the first hand, so the number of players who're still seated is certainly higher in the 45-mans. However, the popularity of the super-KOs, where one pays 12% rake to play 8 hands on average, is still impressive. (Recreationals don't mind rake per se, but with an ROI of -20% or worse, a $20 deposit (20 BIs) lasts for 100 games on average - and merely 7 playing hours because 14 games per hour are played even when 1-tabling.)
