But well I had that read he over-used that move against some of those chickens on the table, that when he check-called the flop, he starts to donkbet-double-barreld pot also in reraised pots with total air especially on scare-card turns. The dynamic was spewy. He did not do that in a 4bet-pot yet though.

Is this a good call in aggro deep dynamics against someone who is a complete maniac ?

:fuckyeah:

Or is it insanity?

:roto2:

PLO has obv. no limit in terms of variance when stacks get deeper and deeper.
He built up to a 2000 bb stack and lost it all in the end. Crazy 9-hour session where I made a lot of really mad plays.

Sure, they are everywhere beatable. But I would not recommend fast-fold tables. No Antes.

He was not a usual passive fish but a very aggressive maniac, they tend to get big stacks normally.

Only with decent reads I would stack off here, but in most cases I would fold the turn already.
You could be drawing for only a king after his pot bet, but if he's indeed a maniac he could do it with worse hands.

Cheers,

This dude is one of those who are looking for the poker thrill imho: playing almost every hand preflop, involved in any tiny bit of equity postflop doing everything they can to win a pot. You are doing the right thing to sit right to his left deepstacked waiting for him to do a mistake.

We already skyped a couple of days ago about how many drawing hand combos exist and if he is capable to donk bluff here folding is no option since he bluffs so much more. Tricky thing is that some of these players will never be ready to bluff away 688bbs but only intend to be so. Others like your villain are willing to go hard. I think in such long sessions table dynamics is alos important so you will know best wether to call or not.

What I was thinking about: do you stick it in on flop when get raised? what about checking behind on flop to avoid high variance flipping with OP+FD with one suit out less since you hold 3 spades?

Actually I was hoping to get raised. His raising range include quite some hands that would be weaker than mine.

No. The flop is pretty straightforward. I was more worried about running against trips as he potted twice but sine he bet pot he is polarizing heavily making a stronger hand more unlikly.

yes i fully agree on the polarizing thing but the question is: does he know this? or is he lucky on turn and just bet a button hoping to get called I mean I saw those types of players pot any top-mid-2pair 4value just because they dont know better

Probably not.
But 2pair is devalued because of the paired board to top/overpair becomes the best (2pair) hand.

Next time, leave the results away. They tend to affect the opinions about the catch. ;)

I think it's not about this specific hand, but more about your general strategy versus that player that deep. It starts with the 4betting hand, which is not a premium hand. That hand has bad playability postflop, as it doesn't connect with many flops. I would just call preflop, as I wouldn't be happy if opponent 5bets. Of course if you have seen him stacking of that deep with anything he has, then it's ok to take a huge 60/40 flip.

There when he pots turn, you have to make a decision whether you want to play for stacks or not. Either call turn and river or fold turn.

I prefer heros 4bet with that hand preflop:

- UTG seems to open loose
- SB seems to have a wide 3bet range
- with normal stacks I would 4bet this hand vs SBs 3bet range 4 value
- We hold the King of spades which makes stacking off flush-vs -flush postflop harder
- isolate the fish HU in position with high spr > playing with very high SPR 3way sandwiched

if opponent 5bets and we have no info on his sickness preflop we happily fold and give 5% of effective stack away. and if he really bluffs he will very likely show us and give away new information.

Yes. I already spoilered the results, but next time I leave them completely.

By 4betting you create SPR10 situation with bad playability, and opponent most likely thinks his hand on the flop versus AA. Which means he is going to play most of the times well against you. And as opponent doesn't really like to fold postflop, that hand will give hero some hard times. Not sure if there are more reversed implied odds or implied odds versus that player.

yes I already considered that.

but in terms of RvR any A QQ+ with suited Ace is kinda pushing raw Equity. I am not sure if villain is aware but my perceived range is much wider than AA-only and on a flop like this I would be okay to gii with a hand strong like overpair+fd. I assume I will be 3-betting almost 20% here.. The KK overpair by itself has kinda more value as he is investing loose 2 to 1 bets with nothing, bare draw or even just top oder midpair because of his aggressive style so I might need less than the average 2pair to showdown a non-allin pot.

he is going to play most of the times well against you

nope I dont think so. I saw him makin many crazy plays in 3bp so he still will play bad post without having a hand.
