Its not quite a virtual currency. Virtual currency is generally decentralised but this is different. Virtual currency is always used for trading but you don’t trade with this free-money.

You cannot buy anything with it. You cannot sell anything for this kind of currency. You can, however, spend it on absolutely anything...

This currency is used for charitable transactions. You gain this money when you provide goods or services for free. You lose it when you accept things for free. What we’ve essentially done is turn charity into a capitalist exchange system.

The fundamental difference between a freesale and a sale is the transaction used:

When making a sale the price is agreed upon by both parties before the goods or services are exchanged.

When making a Freesale the price is never agreed upon. The contributor does set a recommended price but the recipient sets the final price AFTER the goods or service have been received.

For example:

I will place my own ebook on our app. I will set the recommended price at £5. Anyone can then download this ebook for free. Once they have read it, they then value it. £10!

Transaction complete.

If you are as smart as I remember Kyberri, you are probably noticing the seemingly endless problems caused by this valuation process, but fear not, for I came up with solutions so divine they made the Devil weep.

In short, the way I solved ALL the apparent problems with the valuation process is by giving ALL the power to the people.

The recipients are not only setting the price of the goods, they are also setting the price of the money. Relatively speaking they can never go wrong! If they set the price of goods low, the value of the money rises. If they set the price high, the value of the money declines.

On average they can’t be wrong. The only problem that remains is individuals or small groups cheating the system. This is where the real game comes in:

We provide the contributors with all the information we have on each recipients history in the form of stats, graphs and a professional bio. The contributors can all see this information before they choose who to give their gift to.

The ebook I mentioned earlier is free to produce so my best play is to just give out as many copies as I can. If, instead, you are a landscape gardener and want to contribute your services on our app, you would want to be more specific about who you contribute to:

You may want to help your local school and if so you could offer to give them your time without ever looking at their stats. You could know a local granny who needs some work doing. You could have a love of parks and so could spend your whole life contributing to your local parks. Or you could just contribute to your family and friends.

This is the game. It’s a game where everyone gets to choose where to contribute to society based only on whatever it is that they value. If they just care about money, they will generally choose to contribute to people/organisations who set high valuations. If there is a shortage of food, many people will contribute towards agriculture.

If the landscape gardener is not sure who to contribute to. He could use our search feature to search the request lists:

Landscape gardening... within 5 miles... search

He will then be presented with a list of local companies and individuals who have requested landscape gardening jobs. These potential recipients will be ranked in order of who has the most currency. And thus the system becomes capitalist. If a user has only taken from this system and has not contributed anything, their account will be in the minuses, which only means that their requests will be towards to bottom of these lists. If a user generally overpays this will be clear to the gardener when searching the lists. If they underpay this will also be clear to him too.

Usually it will be cost effective for this gardener to choose one of the jobs closest to his home, and thus society becomes almost perfectly efficient...

We have taken loads of other measures to prevent bad valuations. We will pay our community in free money to check valuations. You can flag any valuations for our community to judge too. To aid these guys in their endeavours we also require photos for many transactions.

Having our community value contributions is essential because many gifts cannot be valued by the recipient. If you dedicate your life to looking after disabled people they may not be able to value your free gift to society and so this is when our community steps in. We will also ask our community to police the site using the same process of valuing contributions.

As it’s the community in charge of policing, the more efforts they put in the less chance of the system being abused. Security becomes just another part of the game. As with schools, or our agriculture, the more people who contribute the better it will be. Eventually we hope to build a massive fraud department complete with spies and all kinds of tech.

Business to business transactions could raise all kinds of additional problems if said businesses are dishonest and decide to collaborate. To counter this we are thinking of adding additional tiers to this currency. This would separate business to business transactions from tertiary transactions. If we produce this tier system we could do something similar with gaming companies to make a universal currency that can be won on computer games. These are big steps and so we’re not introducing them in the initial build. We have many such plans we could adopt. We are also thinking of introducing business loans, and some kind of stock market that users can spend their PROFIT on.

Before we put any work into any of this we want to get a real good feel for how businesses use our system. We know that they will adore using this system for many reasons, especially to introduce new products, and so we’ll start with that and build it from there...

To be honest, every attempt to overthrow our current Capitalism based system is a welcome one.
But, it will be very hard to negate the concept of 'TRADE' in this world if you ask me.

Psychopaths seem to be ruling our financial system right now and money is power in this system.
But I think at the core, all people have good and evil in them, but evil is stronger and will overrule the good, no matter what system we have, when humans are involved, it is likely to be rotten and unfair in the long run...

What is the app called?

If the plan is to trust that all humans are honest, the plan has already failed.

The name we settled on was Freesale. It does seem like another app had the same name but this shouldn’t be a problem. That app seems dead, and it isn’t available in my area.

We only decided to change the name to Freesale the other week. Hopefully we don’t need to change it again!
