Hi together,
this is more like a general question.
Against unknown villain, would you do a c-bet?

Vs utg the btn player should flat with: JJ-33, AQs-ATs, KQs, JTs, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, and AJo-AQo.
OTF only #32combos of initial #93 is calling you and fewer re-rasing. I think cbet is the best line.
OTT I think you should keep betting because he has some bluffs calling and just checking you are giving him a chance to bluff. Bet size 30%.
His size was OTT didn't show power.
Difficult spot -
I certainly Cbet, otherwise you will play the whole hand in the dark without having any info on your opponent. Check/fold would be too weak. You will often enough just take it down with a Cbet, he might call with worse and play the rest of the hand passive without bluffing, so you still win the pot.
If he calls your cbet, you can just give up the hand.
You took the worst line you can possibly take here - bet-check/fold. This is burning money hard.
You don't benefit from betting at all OTF.
This might sound absurd, but it is correct to check/fold flop at some frequency, even against balanced opponents.
The reasons are:
- when they have an A, you pretty much dead (2 outs).
-you opened from UTG which is where you have the strong Ax and they make more that 50% of your range, so KK is not that great in fact.
- board is dry which reduces his bluffing range.
Turn can be a call sometimes vs that size.
Moral: don't fall in love with your hands.
As played, I would call the small bet on turn and see what happens on river. We should be protected against bluffs when we open from UTG and bet or check/call twice. If you face small bets three times sometimes it ends up being -JJ going for reasonable value.

The reasons you mention is why a cbet would win the pot very often and is profitable imo. You have alot of high aces in your range and a dry flop.
Thank you very much for all the evaluation.
Unfortunatly 3 line are presented now:
- cbet flop and turn
- check / fold flop
- check / call
Thought it would be simpler. Everyone is playing this different. ![]()
Where could I find material to study these situations?

I know this artikel. But it doesnt help with the situation, since the hand is not a made hand and with 2 out I think it can't even be considered as a weak draw.
Thinking about the line should only be the 2nd thought here. Think about your hand strength and what you want to with the board.
Axxr is quite dry 2 ways pot and your opponent is in position. So look at you and your opponent and your range. Then at the board.
You EP should have a quite small range. And on a Axx board you should basically Cbet every time. Be exploitative and get the save winnings. Later comes balance and reads to improve your game.
So what should your opponent have. Just think what you would have and what you would play. Call on the bu any Ax Pairs. some SC some Broadways. Face a Cbet you prob call 60% and than looking what happens.
So your c/F as played without knowing your opponent is to weak. Usally they call at least 1 times. 2 with if somethings good or medium and raise with something strong.
So you have two options there.
Treat it like you have an weak ace and get longtime value from a 2nd Cbet
or make a free showdown bet with 25-30% on the turn.
And do not take the result personally. See it like it is. Yeah KK is nice but here its just and ok Hand. middlepair. See what they do and how you like to play the situations. Analyse and ajust.
Remember check has no fold equity. Its good for adjusting the pot size like you wanna have it.

You have to keep in mind the edge of each commenter. (mine is low)
Anyway an answer to play optimally is a solver calculation or a coach comes and posts an answer.
About vids there are one who taught about play AA and KK: Coach name KTU
Hi,
so if you look at the BU calling range, you should be ahead a lot of the times still.
The problem with Cbetting here is, that most of the time, weaker hands will fold and all better hands aka Ax and sets will call. Maybe you'll get value from QQ-TT afraid of 3betting pre, but thats probably it.
So whats the point in cbetting? It does not generate a tone of EV.
I like to check in this spots which will accomplish two things:
-Keep the Pot smaller
-Villain can try to bluff.
Simple ABC Poker on this stakes:
Bet your strongest, check call you SDV, bluff some weak, fold the rest

Tyrion88,
I'm still thinking about this hand as we face it frequently @tables:
I supposed the best line is check-call in this flop. Because villain will not continuing pay with worst hands besides JJ.
OTT I would evaluate action based on size bet too, but continue check-call till river (pot size is too strong) to win for a possible JJ.
Trick spot! thx to share with us
