Hey flp0,

welcome to the SSS forum!

It's common practice to bet potsize in freeplays, so bet 0.25$ on the flop and after CO reraises you it's an easy all-in.

why bet pot size when we have a freeplay? that can scare him away..

so thats what he thinks you're trying to do, so they try and make a reraise play or just call

and for this hand... he may have been increasing pot equity for flush draw so good move

In freeplays pots are small, because noone raised before the flop and for this reason you have to bet potsize to build up the pot. On the other hand, potsized bet in freeplay isn't so scary, because pot size itself isn't so big, despite the full potsize your bet size is still pretty small.
