If you mean about mental side like tilting during play etc. first step is to recognize what is causing it and become aware of it. Good side in cash game is that if tilting is issue you have option of just stopping the session if your game is not on decent level anymore.

Ultimately goal would be to simply not let result affect your mentality at all but that is unreachable goal for human being pretty much. But like personally I might get bit annoyed during session but be able to take control of it. It might affect my decision making little bit though. But to be able to come back to your A or B game quickly in such case is important. But in worst case scenario you don't notice tilt affecting your game and suddenly clearly bad plays become just setups etc.

Thing about poker is that those tilt plays are very very costly. You have likely seen someone lose big pot and next hand they might just get it in with some random trash. Let's say that their EV loss in that move was 20bb. Now if they normally have EV of 10bb/100 with their game then that single mistake require 200 hands on average to recover...

Anyway above might have been unnecessary bantering. In general result oriented goals are kind of bad in poker. Like let's say make x€ in month or reach xybb/100. Those are something variance affect lot in short term. But sensible goal could be play X hours or study X hours. Or perhaps post hands etc. Those are way to create schedule for your poker related work.

Well done M8!
(Maybe you should change the 'challenge' part to 'naDanjes walk in the GGpark')

I hope to see you expand the challenge (we wanna see how far you can take it)

Fwiw I've not considered Kyyberis posts as condescending - quite the contrary actually.
As a bankroll challenger myself it motivates me a gr8 deal to know, that experienced players take the time to chime in πŸ‘πŸ‘

@ghaleon - can agree with all you mentioned. i mean the poker tilt side unlike just focusing on plo i have quite some experience already - i have played probably 2-3mio hands and not sure how many but for sure more than 1500-2000 hours just reading books / articles / watching videos etc by now and recognize quite quickly when i am on tilt and am quite familiar with the concepts you mention.
To get me to a serious lvl of tilt on the tables just by run bad is rare(still not impossible and also has room for improvement), but i will for sure jump down to a B or C game and there is room to become much better here still.
My thought was a bit on the real life component of tilt(stress at work/home etc), that is maybe undervalued in poker in general, of course with exceptions and i am already trying to observe myself as much as possible under what condition i am heading to the tables in the first place. So maybe thats something i will try to adress.
I am definetly able to make big mistakes when i am overly confident - like ahh why not just fire some bullets on plo50 ?
This streaming and blogging has already proven to me as a working detternt for that specific mistake and its something i've done wrong in the past but don't see as a big thread in the future as long as i keep up sharing / streaming.
Anyhow for almost every session after rungood befor, i need to make a 1-2 really bad calls just to get back to earth and into the reality of the situation and start playing to the best of my ability again. So i am not sure yet how to adress this - already have big mental note on it but its not enough.

So the influence of the non poker world / rungood / tilt are all components that i'd like to adress.
The moneygoal is to have a finishline to reach and thats it, its not like i am gonna cash it out or need to make it any time soon but it has been nice to have a target in that regard and it basically works for me in the sense of self-fullfilling prophecy - its just setting your mind to achieve a certain thing and i strongly believe this works on a subconsious level thats easy to underestimate.
Scheduling specifically when or how much i will study / play is a bit tricky but to post at least 2 hands where i felt lost and unsure / or just big blunders from the session befor seems like a really good idea that i probably shoudl incorperate.
Was thinking to maybe include excercise / meditation - two things i rarely do - into this aswell.
Like - "you wanna play? ok 15minutes of sports/meditation first"
Just bouncing around some ideas, the bottomline needs to be that its still fun for me to do this. otherwise there is just no point. So probably need to sleep over it once or twice to come to a real conclusion as i don't want this to feel like a burden. Until then any ideas are much appreciated :)

@alcopop thank you so much - it may take me a 1-2 days more(as mentioned above) to find a setting but for sure i will be back on the journey at the tables soon. as for kyyberis comment i really don't feel the need to get into this anymore than i already did. have already said what i had to say and don't think it requires anymore justification nor is it helpful for anyone in this envoirment to continue this as any form of topic^^.
the hatchet is burried or what ever is the appropriate saying in english for this and better focus on the good stuff ahead.

@padman also ofc big thanks for checking in and updates with a new challange will come soon ;)

soooo,
lets get back to business

had a few great days away from the tables, still studied some plo, created myself a few chartlike images as notes to focus on in addition to my short gameplan that i've been updating over the course of the last challange. my understanding for the game of plo for sure made a few jumps during this first luckbox run to 500$+ and i am very curious if i am able to expand on this and maybe become actually decent or even good at this game and all of its aspects.

On non poker related topics
life has been quite good aswell, currently want to build a house on some old family land in a very beautiful spot here in Mostar, its a mountain near the spring of a river, so its not the most easy place to build in and already 20trucks of rocks, earth and bushes were moved to create a surface to build on. The planning phase also is closer to a finish, guy from cadastre was there and seems will get the needed buildingpermit in a not too long time period (in a country like bosnia&herzegovina these things can take forever if you don't have a good contractor with the right connections or having those connections yourself)
So knocking on wood, latest next year around this time should be able to sit at the pool of my new home, with my dogs having a big space outside to run around all day long and eating eggs for breakfast from my own chickens.

In Business i made the 2nd or 3rd biggest deal i've made in the ~13-14 years of my workinglife with a turnaround-volume of a bit more than 300k$ which is awesome for a small company like mine and for sure takes the edge off a bit. This deal is back to back and requires little work on my part, but in warehouse there is still quite a few projects for me to do regardless and these i need to finish in the next 3 month to be able to move my company closer to home in time without horrendous moving cost. (need to get it down to 1 truckload instead of right now ~8....). Shouldn't be too hard to do, but is a very important step for me to take to increase future life ev.
Also this will enable me to go for a nice vacation trip to germany in july together with my fiance (including a wedding of a dear friend, a week at the seaside in croatia and some interesting stops in slovenia / austria / south germany) and due to work i didn't have many of those without carrying a lot of work with me in the last 14 years.... So again *knocking on wood*
Already "see" the punches coming that will knock me down again(as this is just how it goes in my experience), but always a good moment to feel that you are on top with a sense of realisticly being able to achieve what you are set out to do.

The next challange
As you guys know this has been on my mind since the end of the first challange and have put some thought to it. So lets lay out the basic targets, have decided to keep it simple and fun without putting too much pressure on myself. I got a proper software to track progress and extract hands to post in a decent format insted of screencaps from gg....

1) 500$ to 5000$
2) post minimum of 2 hands from the session befor
3) read up on my notes and spend a minimum of 15 minutes meditating befor going to the tables

3) being the added outside of poker learningexperience and i am curious about the effects once i understand enough about it and do it "properly"

decided against the sports asepect because i don't think it would be smart to do this as a kind of effort/reward situation, where sports is the effort and poker the reward. Its a topic i will work on seperate from here and will just try to more often go jogging with my dogs for now. Also i couldn't find my fitbit thingy that would've made it possible to track any progress so... well maybe in the next challange?^^

All thats left to say is, i will be posting when heading to the tables later and thanks to everyone who reads this! The support here and the whole dynamic turned poker into a very fun hobby for me that i am excited to continue in.

haha thanks a lot mate. and for sure the beatdowns and problems are coming, but i try to appreciate those times where life just feels good for a moment as much as i can. in then end it just matter how quick you pick yourself up when shit hits the fan and will collect as much energy as i can now to be able to remind myself of this when(not if) that time comes.
Like in Poker the rungood is easy, the downswing is the hard part to manage (which makes poker such an interesting game^^)

Did my 20 minutes of meditation befor heading to the tables and also reminding myself of the things i've learned so far and have to say it felt good. i applied as much of the strategic approaches i have looked at as i could and left the tables a bit above ev with a nice 42.2bb/100 vs 36.1bb/100ev - or ~3 stacks up over ~561hands.
Taking a break now to go with the dogs and gonna post some hands later in the plo forum and probably gonna play some more.

thanks, I have been watching a lot of videos from Luuk Botter

Him using PLO Masterminds software and going into some good explanations feels like a nice free resource at the moment, since i don't have any solver or such myself and all content available to me on pokerstrategy for PLO i have watched / read by now.

Jnandez also has some ok videos - but not as content heavy - but his explanations inbetween feel quite valueable.

Basically browsing the web for resources that i find interesting. lurking and some posting in the handdiscussion forum here (now will also regulary post hands myself)

edit - your first post is a reply to me - i am honestly honored by this! *

*edit2 - didn't mention one of the most important resources - this blog ! its not exactly a studying, but more of a reflection excercise - without it the drive to improve would be far less (but of course this is very subjective and for sure diffrent for everyone)

That is the same study I have been using and I have bought Jnandez book, but way to complicated for a 2NL player like me hahaha

You seem to have grasped Omaha a lot quicker than me, as I am still very much fish like :)

that book sounds interesting and will most likely order it - should be one of the cheaper options to expand knowledge and i like his way of approaching the game a lot (from what i've seen in videos).
As for plo, i still make so many mistakes - but i think a lot of them at least start to get "close", meaning maybe not chosing the highest ev options, but at least not a lot of total blunders..... its quite brainwrecking compared to sng / mtt poker and the combo with streaming gets more exhausting the more i "know"

ended my session for today - finished up total of about 8 stacks and with a nice ggcare stack (fingerscrossed^^) after ~1100hands.
1000-1500 hands seems to be my comfort zone for a day until my brain starts blanking.
now heading to the couch, tomorrow will work through the hands from today and likely head back to the tables also.

I bought JNandez Book last week for 21€ because I didnt want to spend a huge amount because I dont know if it is the right game for me.

Lots of preflop stuff and also later street game where he breakdowns flops and runouts. Also 3b Potts are talked about. For some Hobbydonk like me it is prety good. He gives you also a lot of tools where you can work yourself with. I like and recommend this one.

thank you so much!
for the book was already browsing a bit, seems in bosnia&hezegovina only option is to buy the ebook since shipping is just too expansive in comparison.
So have a reason to charge up my ipad and use it again quite excited to dig into it later or tomorrow.

if i got it right i should get an upgrade to gold for finishing my first challange, so will hoepfully have more content on pokerstrategy aswell and in combination with the book i should be set for another month at least ^^.
The quality content that is free on the webs is quite limited(without pirating it ) and by now i find myself watching/reading things that are not exactly time to knowledge gained efficient....

Posting hands starts to fill that void (thanks to the pros like kyyberi & ghaleon that are very active!) and am quite happy that i now started to make this a rule as part of the new challange.

Do you also have a blog? i saw you reporting in the thread with a nice br growth aswell :f_thumbsup:
