$0.10 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players

BTN: $10.71 (107.1 bb)
SB: $7.22 (72.2 bb)
Hero (BB): $10.95 (109.5 bb)
UTG: $11.14 (111.4 bb)
MP: $16.51 (165.1 bb)
CO: $10.73 (107.3 bb)

SB posts $0.05, Hero posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has 5 8
fold, MP raises to $0.20, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.10

Flop: ($0.45, 2 players) 3 6 4
Hero checks, MP bets $0.30, Hero raises to $0.88, MP calls $0.58

Turn: ($2.21, 2 players) Q
Hero bets $1.70, MP raises to $15.43 and is all-in, Hero folds

Hands:1288
Stats:23/18/6.3/48

Preflop: I think with 58s against a min open raise you can call this?

Flop: Here I wonder if you can really play a check-raise on the flop against MP.

Turn: If I play a check-raise on the flop, I think I often have to barrel on the turn. But whether Q is suitable for this, I don't know.

85s seems like a easy fold pre-flop. It's not playing well post-flop against a unknown that's raising from MP.

On the flop I would check/call or you expect villain folds a lot on raises.

If I would Cbet the turn a half pot is big enough I think. Now you need to fold for sure after villains raise.

Cheers,

Against a player with tight HUD this would be a call for me or maybe even a 3 bet. More likely to get paid off when hit and they will only 4 bet AK, QQ+. More likely to get some folds pre as well.

But playing OOP against an aggro player especially with a draw can make life miserable for anyone. Even an agressive player such as myself. I'm the most agressive reg at my poker room. I'm looking at their VPIP, PFR, 3bet, check raise stats and cbet stats for their agression and fold to 3 bet and fold to cbet for how much they like folding before deciding to play a hand like 85s which is not a great starting hand unless very deep.

In this situation you burned and turned a very nice flop. A check raise is fine here. If you get called you're likely to hit on the turn and have a nice pot building already.

If he reraises I would go all in on that flop honestly a straight flush draw is never worse than 50/50 even against a flopped set. Against an overpair you're slightly ahead. The only hand you're really afraid of is a higher FD there..which isn't as likely as overpair or set.

The fold is fine on the turn and the bet is fine too, the sizing, I might even overbet that honestly. He won't reraises as much as overbets usually confuse a lot of players. Also allows enough room to get stacks in on river if he just calls and you hit. It also disguises your draw and will also get a lot of better hands to fold the turn. +Ev

Another line you could take OOP against aggro player is C/C turn, C/R river if you hit.

Peace.

I think in bb against a min open raise 85s to fold but much too tight?

With so much equity we should only play check/call on the flop?

3bet with 85s oop? i feel very daring for nl10.

A call and then a check/fold if absolutely miss the flop is okay?

An overbets oop I had learned should rather be omitted because they are very difficult to play.

Its already been said, but 85s is a fold pre-flop, its not going to play well post-flop against V's range.

Flop: Is a x/c I think. Your PF calling range doesn't really hit this flop, so I'm not sure x/r'ing here is gonna fold much other than air.

Turn: I could be wrong, but I actually think this is a bad card for us to barrel here. The Q connects more with villains range. Also, If you x/r'ing this flop your repping AcXc, KcXc 57s, 5c8c, and those last two shouldn't be part of your range here. So firing the turn on Q isnt really consistent with your range. I think you would be better checking here, and barreling any club, A,2,5,7, which all connect more with what your range is repping. As played turn is a fold after the x/r

Yes I would absolutely 3 bet this hand if the situation were different and I was up against someone who doesn't 3 bet very much (meaning you're not going to be 4 bet off the hand) also they would have to not have a high fold to 3 bet stat otherwise a flat is fine there, but we want to be at least 200+bbs deep and villain needs to have a tighter vPip pfr stat in order to get paid more, you're going to surprise a lot of people when the flop comes 855 or flushy, straighty type stuff.

Can't always be waiting for aces sometimes the stars all line up where it would be +ev to call a 3bet with 63s against 2 very nitty players in a 3 bet pot. If you hit 33x board you're going to win a huge pot because one of them will have AA or KK.

You can also win the pot post flop as well we don't always need to to hitting our hand. When the flop comes Axx or Kxx and we have 3bet preflop the villain folds to a cbet a lot of the time.

85s isn't playing well against villains range and if you hit a draw like now you don't want to blow up the pot like hero did now. You still need to hit the flush or straight to win the hand most of the time.

He has to put 0.10c for a 0.55c pot. 0.10/0.55 = equity 0.18
85s VS a MP tight 20%OR has 35% equity
I think calling this is a must

You meant 10c for a 45c pot is 22,2%.

Should be fine to defend. Though 2 gapper is not greatest combo. These hands play ok versus tight range as there is very little overlap with those high card heavy ranges.

Flop I would either donk bet or x-r bigger. Your range has way more nutty hands (2 pair+) so it's solid spot to play aggro with strong draw. Turn is indeed nasty when villain shove but theory wise it should be rare. We are going to have plenty of hands to stack off here.

Flop donk is reasonable as this flop villain should check back lot of time. But likely population is over cbetting anyway so x-r make sense.

So for me is fold preflop.
After his turn bet AI, fold, there is no need to call it with this weak hand.
