'Sup Pokers and Pokettes! Who's been lucky enough to bag themselves a spot in tonight's Mystery Bounties Main Event final?

I didn't convert as many of those satellite ticket wins into qualifications as I'd have liked to have done, but I'm still pleased at having qualifying twice. In order to have a hope at opening a bounty chest, I wanted to have as big a stack as I could get. Unfortunately that meant risking busting out whereas I probably should have tried to be more conservative and taken through half a dozen shorter stacks instead. Hindsight and all that... all finalists are ITM, but with a field of over 10,000 finalists, even reaching a 3-figure prize place is going to be a tough ask, but anyone can have a chance of those $50k+ bounty chests so long as they can knock put another player!

I'm placed in the midfield so I'm hoping for a table full of shorter stacks for a chance of a bounty whilst the blinds are low!

I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but I've heard people speculate as to how GG place players in these MTTs, in order to make a more favourable gaming experience for the recreational players - big stacks get put with big stacks, and short stacks with short stacks, sort of like seeding a tennis tournament, but reversed seeding 🀣. If this is true, then there's a couple of thousand shorter stacks to place me with, and then all bets are on! Otherwise I'll be praying for that early double up.

Any other forum posters qualified for tonight, and/or like to share their experience of this festival so far? Just don't knock me out! πŸ˜„

Thanks Samuel (and indeed, like most conspiracy theories, I do take with plenty of salt πŸ˜† - but one has to attach one's hopes to something 🀣)

I doubled up and got a Bounty... seeing someone win 50k got my hopes up!!! I got....

$6.10. Six dollars. Booooooo

Edit: okay break time, so can elaborate. Action had been non existent until this point, fold fold raise fold fold, except for the very first hand which was an all in with two biiiig stacks! This hand ended up 5 way, guy with 3.3BB goes all in, and being the 3rd shortest stack, I goes over the top from hijack with AQs, cutoff goes over the top of me, and both blinds called! Short stack had KJs, and turned his flush, ace high giving me the bounty-winning hand, although with the confusion I was saying goodbye and crying at my early finish. Lols.

Seeing "drawing dead" and everyone else having some percentage really is confusing if you can't instantly recall who you where dominating in chips, and/or good at glancing at five hands and seeing which wins when the chips are all-in

Busted out, 6,091st/123,802 - KK vs KJos, 93% on the flop, hits four diamonds for that favourite way to bust out, the turn & rivered flush. As soon as the odds dropped to 79% I knew what was next.

Still, I had the chance of opening a chest, which was what I wanted as I said above. Hey ho!

Now Ive had time to process, here's just an update with the hands I talked about:

gg.gl/2kjkf last hand, KK

gg.gl/sheio AcQc my first hand played.

As things go it's probably fish feed for your regular MTT player. And not the most expensive tournament I've played, but probably the biggest field! I'll chalk it up as another experience. And try, try, try again πŸ˜†. Those bounty cheats, you just need one good one! Boom, and you're comfortable. But I'll never be so lucky.

Congrats on the deep run at least ! Not an easy feat in a field that size, top 5% !

UL on that bust out hand :f_mad: very sad runout

Glad you at least got to open one chest, never say never ! :f_cool:

Thanks. Seems to be a theme for my participation in these large fields - reaching the money but just about covering my costs or maybe an extra buyin or two on top. And even the way I bust out seems to be in keeping with the theme.

If I had a bounty for everytime I bust out with A♣A♥ vs A♠Q♦ or K♠K♦ vs K♥J♣, or even worse, vs trash! And even though their A or K is dominated they still manage to hit four cards to the suit I do not hold to river that flush, then I'd be a rich man!

As you say, at least I got the chance of opening a chest. I don't feel so unlucky this time around, but in the big bounty tournament back in April I opened five chests! Not one of them had anything over $20, which was very disappointing when you see the message "so-and-so won $1,600" every couple of minutes on the message banner at the top of the table.
