I'm tracking my PVI and daily changes. It's quite easy, track rake you generate daily and capture Fish Buffet points at the start of the day and at the end of the day, divide one on another and you'll get points / dollar of rake. This will bring more understanding of PVI changes and what they depend on.

One more tip - add the link to your blog as a signature on Pokerstrategy forum. It would be way easier to find

Oh, that is a bummer, didn't know about basic memebers limitations.
I don't trust PT4 sinse I was playing on 888 and results from BLAST (local spins) were not calculated in PT4, so I start tracking spreadsheets. As I played, I add more and more information there, then I removed something that was not used / needed. My current monthly tracking spreadsheet looks like this:

The more you know, the more you can plan. I'm a fan of the rule of 5P: Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance. I have a big satisfaction, when I can set a goal, break on milestones and achieve it by following the plan. Knowing your PVI is not a big thing, but they add up. I would say, knowing your Rakeback is essential as than you can optimize your hourly by either improving your game and EV or improving your rakeback. Better do both at the same time

Aw, thanks! I took an "Advanced MS Excel" course on my previous job that opened my eyes what you can do with spreadsheets :f_drink:

Well, couldn't keep it to myself, as I'm a goal-setting nerd. Here's my unsolicited feedback:

- Make your goals SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound). It's a bit of a buzzword, but it's definitely worth practicing for better results.
- Since you've already reached Platinum Octopus, consider leaving that goal out. Monthly goals should be for things you're working towards, not achievements already secured.
- Instead of "Do *smth every day", convert it into a numeric value like "Do *smth 28 days in Feb". But, do you really want to commit to something every day? A break might be beneficial. Maybe aiming for 20-22 days could be more manageable? An "every day" commitment means the first day you skip, you've technically failed, which isn't very motivating.
- "Continue eating keto (until there’s a reason not to)" - I'm a fan of Keto too, been there three times. Cheat days can add variety and joy, enhancing social life. I'd suggest integrating them into your goals. For measurement, I used a ketometer, especially when starting Keto or after cheat days. Aiming for X days in ketosis (>0.5 mmol/L) could be a good metric.

I've seen it often in the poker community and at work, where good intentions with poorly formulated goals lead to results that are open to interpretation. Let's make your goals clearer and more achievable!

I was buying monthly subscribtions every month, but at the end of the 2024 year I gave up and bought yearly subscription. Best tool on the market for anyone who is serious about learning...

I want to share my story about "GTO incorrect plays." For a long time, in heads-up limped pots, I was betting close to 100% flops on the small blind. This is way to high compared to GTO recommended c-bet frequency, which is typically around 55-65% depending on stack depth. My coach was shocked I wasn't getting punished more for this deviation from GTO.

However, upon closer look, we realized that the field was over-folding to c-bets in these limped pots. I was unknowingly exploiting this tendency, which turned out to be quite profitable despite being big diviation from GTO.

This case tought me that while GTOWizard provides an excellent baseline, understanding field-specific tendencies can be just as crucial. A coach can be very helpful to interpret and apply GTO strategies effectively, pointing out what's critical in your gameplay and what's not. I highly recommend considering a few coaching sessions to refine your approach as you definately don't want to invest too much time in optimizing wrong part of the strategy.

Can you share screenshots of the spot that you are talking about from both tools? I‘m interested in the differences

Can't comment much without specific spot details.

Regarding GTO vs Exploitative strategy - I see it like this: you need to study GTO, and you should become very proficient in preflop spots and heads-up scenarios, as these are straightforward situations to drill and study. A good understanding of balanced ranges, bluffs, blockers, and minimum defense frequency concepts will make you a much better player who is harder to play against. Exploits come into play when you spot that opponents deviate from GTO, and you know how to counter this deviation. Example: Recreational players tend to play in a much more straightforward way, which increases your profits through air c-betting and overfolding when they show aggression. While this is a solid counter-strategy, you should be ready to battle regulars with balanced ranges and plays close to GTO, where you need to default back to GTO. So, these two concepts ultimately work together.
