I have a huge respect to Phil Galfond. One of the best Poker figures out there.
Do you focus on MTT?
Turning $20 into $10K in just a few months is an outstanding performance - it proves a lot! You definitely have tons of talent and can achieve whatever goals you set for yourself. Bad days and good days come and go - try not to get too low or too high in either case. Journaling is one of the healthiest coping mechanisms out there. By reflecting and putting your feelings and situations into words, you learn, grow, and overcome challenges in a sustainable way. I used to drink for both - celebrating when I was up, coping when I was down. It was a terrible strategy. I haven’t stopped completely, but I rely on it much less these days...
jep, also noticed the change of the schedule when i logged in. for my filter setting (NL $0-$7 w/o sats) there were almost no tourneys available. the only exception were those T$ tourneys and as you have already described the only instance that was open for registration atm had already reached its max player limit. therefore i switched to pokerstars yesterday evening.
I feel this in my bones lol But after using a different Trackers like Drivehud2, I can say that I would probably pay double for Poker Tracker 4 if I only had the 2 options. I used to think PT4 wasn't that great and needed more bells and whistles. Now that I've had the bells and whistles (and paid these guys to beta test their software) I would pay double for PT4 before I would pay the $10 or $20 it would cost me to renew this license. Just the amount of coaches and information surrounding Poker Tracker 4 makes it a worth while investment in my eyes. It's nice to read a strategy post or watch a video and be able to follow along easily without having to figure out the differences in software interfaces.
If you're super serious about Tournaments, I would like to recommend a subscription to Raise Your Edge. Even the free content they produce is top notch. I bought a TMC Masterclass Apprentice level 7 years ago when I had a bunch of money and I've only ever watched them add value to the course over the years. Only piece of poker content I've ever bought that has gotten more valuable over time. You don't need the Champions Tier to crush the stakes you're playing, so just the $50 usd a month sub would do. Just some food for thought! I wish you all the best on the felt!
