Ok so its the second level and most players are pretty lose...over 20 vpip

I cant work out how to convert Holdem manger hand history into a readable way so this will have to do.

The hand continuned but I dont see the point of posting it as what im interested in is the preflop play.

Does everyonw just muck this preflop?

Normaly a very small min raise like this is a very strong hand and I dont want to flat as I could then get pushed on by the first raiser. I dont like spots like this, If the blinds were higher I might shove but not be too happy about it.

I like the fold in this spot. U aren't the last to act and therefore can't just call here, while 3Betting will likely mean u will end up playing for all ur chips against a hand that dominates u. Saving ur chips for a better spot is the best thing u can do in these situations.

Thanks for the reply, Yeah I think it is correct, I dont like JJ much its a tricky hand to play early on.

Shoving seems too spewy to me. It's too early for such aggressive play. Do u really want a coinflip at this stage of the game? Or even worse, get ur chips in against a dominating hand?

I'd give myself a decent amount of FE, and a coinflip wouldn't be that bad with all the dead money in the pot.

Atoks is right! i don't see any reason to shove JJ at a blind level of 15/30!

Well blinds are actually 30/60 so we have a 24.5bb stack.

With one miniraise and 2 callers (in my post I said I would push in case last guy only had called and not made a 3bet), there's 360+90 on the pot, which is a nice addition to our stack. We do have fold equity, and these guys won't only call QQ+, AK-AQ we get a lot of 77-TT, AJ, or worse calls in this spot, specially in a $5.

Hi all,

How I treat minraises at 25/50 and 30/60 is they are == limp. So effectively we have JJ with a 24.5BB (ty LgWz) with effectively a single raise in front of us. The fact that he minREraises means a fairly strong hand, sure.. however we also have a very strong hand. So here I would just 3bet-shove. We are OOP, there is a lot of dead money, we have a hand with which overcards flop a reasonable % of the time = shove.

3bet/shove looks so spewy.. I'm not so happy about getting it in already with JJ preflop. IMO the minre-raise is not so weak at all, although he will do this with worse hands sometimes. I don't think he will call your shove often (enough) with worse hands, only better hands or hands you flip against. I think the risk/reward is bad, definatly at this stage.
