i know how you feel mate, that's why i gave up SNGs! but we all run bad, im on a huuuge downer (well huge for me), lost $100 or so in the day today, nothing holding up at all. Donks calling massive turn bets for 2 outs for the river etc you gotta love it...or hate it!
Well I played another good session where I got sucked out on constantly so make it 55 buyins down in two days....my ev line is on +25 buyins now that is a complete joke.
I have witdrawn what was left on ipoker and I am closing this thread. My confidence is completely gone even though I have been beating poker for 3 years. I have never had anything like this before.
See you guys and good luck
are you not covering your losses in bonus' or anything then I assume? That's what I look to do on the bad times..hopefully keep me in the green even if the game itself is going bad on me.
ipoker is so bad there are no bonus really. im taking a few days off and moving to fulltilt for rakeback
YAY come over to FTP
get some rake-back to ease the pain + the regs at the 11s suck just as much as ipoker
I feel your pain, been on a downer myself frustrating to say the least ipoker is giving me fits the same your going through. Suck-out after suck-out can't win to save my life. I have been reading NickParkes blog been a great read so far only on page 12 of his blog. I wish you success at FT. I may be leaving ipoker as well don't know how much more I can take.

That's nice to hear
Anyway, went back to check what was happening on pg 12 of my blog.... that was a downswing! actually my stars graph is still waaaaay below the zero line... But looking back that monster swing taught me so much and set me up for where I am now...
Lennonac, best of luck in your course of action... don't close this thread tho... If you truly want to become a successful poker player you need 2 things... 1. the ability to know how to play +EV poker (you have this) and 2. the mental fortitude to push through the worst possible things poker can throw at you (this takes painful work and you're not there yet). At some point or another the same thing will happen at full tilt or wherever else you choose to play, learn from it, understand it and beat it.... use this thread to achieve that, and one day look back and it will be there to remind you...
Thanks for the advice everyone.
I know moving site will not change anything, and I stopped the withdraw from mansion. I have been thinking about things since yesterday and realise from reading my posts that I am tilting quite hard.
The phycolgical part of the game is a big obstical for me and always has been. Something I really need to work quite hard on.
I have noticed on the $11's that the regs have been calling my push's very lite and I am not quite sure what to do about it, my fold equity is very low at the moment and if I tighten up then I get blinded out just something I need to think about.
I have dropped to the $5.50's today to try and regain some confidence and keep my game sharp.
I may have to rejoin stox as they have some good vids on tilt and varience. I will also reread the articals on here. I am reluctant to leave mansion as I want to continue collecting ps points. It would be good if there were some tilt and varience videos along with some sngwiz ones.
I have been under quite a bit of pressure and will be in the coming months to make enough for my trip to vail. I know its bad to have money goals but it is a fact of life that everyone does.
As the old saying goes its easy when you are winning.
OK... what you are experiencing is quite normal... the monetary goal is a big -ve from my experience... but when it comes to reg calling you light that's where SNG wiz comes in handy... yeah you can tighten up in certain spots, but tightening up means you are still shoving like 70% in certain spots... and even tho they call you light many ATC spots are still ATC spots... Also I find that the regs memory can be fairly short... take a couple days break and you won't get as many super light calls... it's easier if they have been watching you shove for the last week or two and have played with you so often... Dropping to the $5.50s is a decent way to rebuild the confidence issue... but seriously do what you can to work on the psychological game... the worst thing you can do is force yourself to play because you HAVE to make money and you know you don't feel like it... if you're not feeling it, taking 3 days break off poker is more +EV than playing 300 SNGs in that time........ It's difficult to understand when you are in the middle of it, but trust me, looking back on either course of action will give you the best perspective.... gl
Well today I started by going over some hands and looking at my play, I read some articals and watched a few vids.
I played some $5.50's with not much success but I didnt feel bad or tilted. I then moved on to some $11's and ended the day 1 buyin down with an EV line of +7 buyins.
The most important thing for me today was I didnt feel like I tilted at anytime and was even happy to end the day with a small loss. I feel like I made real progress today and I had a chat with a good buddy of mine who lives in Aus. He helped me to see the light as have many people on this forum.
I am happy that my mood has lifted with the weekend coming up. Also today I dropped to just 6 tables so I can spend more time on each hand.
I replayed a few games from yesterday and noted I was too tight with a big stack, I expect this was due to thinking that I will get sucked out on.
I feel like today I got back to my normal game. Tomorrow I will watch some videos and read some tilt stuff before I start as I feel this really helped today.
Ok so I took a day out from poker altogether and I feel great about things again.
I put some $ in fulltilt and started grinding, the fish are just as if not even easier than ipoker and I really like the structure. The blinds go up every 3 mins instead of 4 mins but they increase slower, like from 50/100 to 60/120 instead of 100/200.
Although it has a smoother increase the games last about the same. I am finding that I can pass on some very small +EV spots when I do not need to damage my stack for some time.
Also getting rackback is very nice ♠_cool:

Around $40 in rackback is nice
Played a little fullring cash BSS NL10, enjoyed the break from working out shoving ranges to working out donks ranges!

All in all very happy with things.
nice job lennonac! nice trend ![]()
what limit are you playing on FT? 11s ?
glad ur back into the winning ways. rake-back is awesome ♦
running way above EV is also very nice lol.
Hello lessthanthreee,
I started on the $6.50's to get to grips with the structure, but yes now im on the $11+1's.
I must say really enjoying it and it is so easy to put some volume in. I found on ipoker I had to play at a certain time of day...i.e in the evening to get any games going. Now on FT I can play when I feel like it which is good because I quite often like to play a set or two then have a break, do something else even if for 1/2 an hour.
I am not too far over EV but yes I usually do stay just over it which is nice.
If you are still playing the $6.50's you have a treat ahead of you the $12's are just as bad, found a few regs so far....all of them losing players. Thats one good thing you dont really get many regs at your tables things seem so much more spread out.
I forgotten how much rakeback boosts your profits, I used to SSS on FT and was making around $1000 a month from RB, wont be anywhere near that with sng's but still nice.
well lets just say i am a broken man again.
I am now $1500 below EV playing $6.50 sng's....I quit

holy crap! graph??? thats 230BIs. thats unbelievable!! graph????
:O
:O!!!
Hey lennonac
Hope you are doing well. I saw you playing the $2 turbos on FT. I'm guessing you are starting to recover your bankroll? You played pretty solid and as you know the $2s are quite easy and you should easily go to the $6.50s again. Good luck and keep us posted
Hello, yes my deposited bank roll got rinsed, I was down to $7 and 15,000 FTPs
I used 7,000 FTPs on the sats to the daily double and unregistered them for the tune of about $60
Then I started grinding the $2s.....that was fun ♦ Ran stupidly well with an roi of over 50%
Now I am ginding the $6.50s again, I feel more intune with my game than I ever have and the swings are of no interest to me anymore. I decided that i will not look at results untill the very end of the day
I have been playing some heads up sng's to try and increase my first place finishes in 9 man sit n go's.
It's been going really well, watched loads of videos from Collin Moshman(One of my poker idols) and things are coming along nicely.
I really think this will push up my first place finish's in the games where we are more than 10 big blinds deep. Plus I am enjoying the headsup sng's as well as crushing them at the $10.50 level. To be honest though I have only had one tricky opponent who was super LAG but I got him in the end ♠_cool:
I think all full ring sng players should at least learn some heads up strategy it will boost your ROI for sure.
