Thanks for posting the link to that article jmackenzie. I will read it. Actually I haven't read any of the psychology articles yet,... however at this point in my game they are probably the most important articles for me to read.

TheLastNail: I knew about chirene80 from poker table ratings, but I did not know he has done this in such a short period of time. He has a thread on the two plus two forum and he says he is a winning player, but for the amount that he plays his results seem pretty dismal.

I also understand that no. of hands has nothing to do with winrate. However, if you can maintain the same winrate, then no. of hands directly corresponds to total amount won. Playing a lot of hands also increases statistical confidence in your true winrate. Varience is so high in PLO that if I only play 30k hands a month, I can possibly have two months of downswing, or maybe more. That's a pretty discouraging prospect.

How the hell do you play 8 Short handed tables PLO, in my opinion 4 PLO tables is optimal, with 8 your losing a lot of your effectiveness, the number of mistakes increases and a lot of opportunities are missed... it turns into abc PLO. What level do you play? PLO is far harder to grind than NLH, especially playing short handed, i find playing 24 tables NLH easier to play than 8 tables of PLO.

Well this is my experience anyway, so if you want to grind more hands i feel PLO isnt the right game to do it, without losing a lot of value through missed opportunities and mistakes!

Just figure out a way to play as few hands as possible but win as much as possible.

I do know a few players thats multi table 12 - 16 + tables on Party Poker. And they rake in some pretty impressive party points! I guess you do see variance because of the sheer weight of hands ie downswings and upswings.

Now most of you guys who can manage these 12+ tables (that I cant yet :f_cry:) Im interested to know how much can be made. I don't mean to be rude or nosey but what I mean is can a fairly good tight solid player, who plays his maximum tables confidently make a good profit without the help of rakeback, bonuses and points?

What I specifically interested in knowing is the B/B profit not actual $. And what I also would like to know how the B/B profit changes as you go up the limits and face tougher opposition, and whether there is an optimal limit to play on?? ie NL100

4 tables is the max for me. My varience is mainly due to my poor concentration levels over extended periods. I've only played 6 months this year and a lot of that has been single or two tables whilst ive been trying to improve my play so I dont have reliable stats. My last 50 000 hand I made just over $4 an hour playing nl25 and nl50 i'm embarrased to say, dragged down by some pretty dumb sessions.

So I would be interested out how some of you reg grinders who play long session multi tables do on you particular limit.

I play PLO10. I also have a pretty tight style. Perhaps when I move up playing 8 tables might be tougher, but I don't think 8 tabling is that tough in PLO10. I found that at these micro limits the opponents are usually pretty easy to figure out,... I don't think you have to be that tricky and villains will pay you off a lot of the time.

I used to play FLH and I think that that game is harder to grind than PLO.

I kind of had the impression that NLH is easier to grind than PLO, but that would mean I have to devote so much time to learn a new format and I really like PLO right now. Perhaps that's the reason why most people grind NLH,... why is it that much easier to grind NLH? I would think that it's more read based than PLO, which means fewer tables is more optimal.

Whats the meaning of FR, HU, SR and all the other abbreviations?
I am trying pretty hard to understand but really can't.

I think i got one, HU = Heads up?

i 12-table NL100 FR and i think my winrate is 5-6 bb/100 + rakeback

full-ring (table with 9 or 10 players usually), short-handed (tables with max 6 players)
and heads-up

FR = Full Ring
HU = Heads Up
SH = Short Handed
PLO = Pot Limit Omaha (The Ferrari of Poker)
NLH = No Limit Hold'em (Sometimes abbreviated NLHE)
FLH = Fixed Limit Hold'em (FLHE)

PLO10 means $0.05/$0.10 Pot Limit Omaha.
