Loads of places to play man, usually people will let you install software in semi-casual internet cafes, places like koh phiphi and koh tao have lots of em, you'll have no bother playing on your laptop if you can get connection
Yes lots of people play poker from Thailand however it is illegal. If you get caught there will be consequences...Therefore don't be a moron about it, don't tell everyone you meet what you are doing, don't play in an internet cafe for the even more obvious reason someone might steal your passwords and your bankroll. You can play but just play in the comfort of your own home or somewhere you have some privacy.
