This, unless you think BB will bluff/merge less than his stats would suggest, it's usually better to ensure you're not getting bluffed off the best hand when he could very well have worse and still pay off a cheap bet. You don't want to make it too cheap either, or you run the risk of him actually spazz-shoving more hands if it seems the bet looks very weak. Making a more exploitative play like check/folding or bet/calling requires more accurate reads in my opinion, making a blockbet is a decent cutoff.
